- Yes, as the title of the video suggests, I have decided to revisit the Nothing Ear (1) after using it for 3 months because this, my friends, is NOT the Unbox Therapy version that I reviewed previously but instead, I bought this brand new from a retail store, to go through all the drawbacks that I found in the previous unit, so is it still BAD? @@shikitono5643 These are better than the Blacksharks IMO, but they do still need a few tweaks. Not a TON, but I will say, they’re rather big and heavy in the ears. Noise cancellation is nice, as are HD mics, but…it’s not where it should be for a final release product for me. That’s just me, personally. I like something smaller and more sleek, like the new AirPods version 3 (not the Pros) which have everything I could ever want or need, but many people forget Apple owns Beats by Dre now, and those are often cheaper, still have iPhone compatibility, and are like SO MUCH more bassy and less tinny sounding than many of the other “Chinese” options out there.

First video I’ve seen from this channel, and with how honest you were to clear your thoughts from your first try, you’ve gained a sub.
I had a pair which didn’t convince me much so I returned them. But after trying the $249 Airpods Pro, I just decided to buy them again because of how good they are for the price.

Was wondering whether you could review the new Oppo Enco X2 (esp whether the planar magnetic driver is a game changer) and how it performs against its peers, including the ear (1)

So glad you revisited this, I got a pair on release and was quite surprised by your initial review. Goes to show the difference between test units and actual retail ones, glad these earbuds didn't amount to Nothing! :D

Hey Joshua, great point my friend and yes, I too am glad I revisited it!
I have a pair and they're constantly disconnecting, changing mode or deactivating transparency/ANC while keeping the mode. Also the touch commands are borderline unusable.
Battery life is great tho, as is charging time and design. I got the white ones and I don't put particular care in keeping them clean, but they still are. They're pretty comfortable, too.
Sound quality isn't the best, but it's plenty good enough.
Mic quality is great, but sometimes they stop working or have very serious problems; only rarely happens, tho, they're kinda reliable on that front.
Latency is unusable for real time stuff that isn't a call, and low latency mode is somehow even worse.
When they came out they were a good deal, but it's several months that comparable-better pods exist at the same price or even at half it.
Overall positive, happy with them although sometimes they're a bit frustrating

So your saying the first earbuds that you had received had some kind of defect?
Oh what a surprise! I've since then sold that original unit for Airpods Pros with no regrets, but I did notice they improved quite a bit since release from software updates. That's the strength of Carl Pei, listening to his customers. :) I hope Nothing works on their software before release as most buyers and reviews would judge a product as per it's original release quality though!
*The price has also since dropped from RM499 to RM350+- which makes it much more compelling imo

no compare at all! jabra all the way. i had the elite 75T and they served me perfectly. good sound, good mic, good app, good brand. sad to say ,i lost them. now i've got the nothing ones and i cannot be more disappointed. they keep interrupting all the time. their bluetooth connectivity is a bad joke...

How would these compare to the old Sony WF-1000XM3 which costs around RM400-500 now?
The main thing about the Sony’s is that it’s bulkier abang, so it’s not as comfortable as this, noise cancellation on the Sony is a bit better and so is the Transparency mode. However the audio quality is very similar on the More Bass EQ in the Nothing app 🙂

Hey Hasan, for me it depends on the situation, for working out I prefer to wear earbuds, but for casual and travelling I like over the ear headphones 🙂
I agree, I have gone on runs with Sony wh1000xm4s and they were pretty alright. Sony just has to come out with better names for their headphones.

I’ve had these for 6 months and the right earbud has stopped charging and connecting to Bluetooth. I’ve researched it and it’s a common issue. Make sure you get warranty!!!

indeed. i am really irritated that these nothing buds are faulty even from the beginning of usage. when indoors, they are ok. rather ok-ish. outdoors, another story. no constant signal whatsoever. they stop, they beep, they fart, they do all kind of sounds, unfortunately not the sound of the music i want. bad experience. stay away!

I have been using the white version that i bought a few days ago and i have zero complaints with the earbuds. I think it maybe that the newer versions are better, whether white or black; or maybe they just improved the problems with software updates. I received two updates ever since i bought these.

I am comparing this nothing with Samsung buds pro, and nothing lacks a lot of things. Transparency mode is invisible, because it does not do a thing to amplify exterior noise, and ANC just cancel the wind and the cars at long distance. definitely not a $100 earphones
