In his defense, as a sova main, it can be a bit tricky to time when to use an ult, especially on attack. It's odd he didn't use it once but I think he played sova pretty well, although he seemed very lineup focused and not too much on how to actually play him. Good job H20!
I'm a viper main and whenever I play Omen, Sova or Reyna I completly forget to ult as much when im with Viper maybe this was the problem

I agree. So a is so hard to know when to use ult, because when you’re the only one, they could sneak past the ult. when your whole team is alive you don’t usually have enough info to know where they are. You really need info to know when to use Hunters Fury
Importance of good PC set-ups should be emphasized more if you want to be a better player, assuming that you've reached your wall when it comes to aim and game sense. We should really need acknowledge that without that comfort and aid brought by better gaming equipment, an individual would be capped at a lower level compared to those who had a better/greater PCs but had worse aim.
I also experienced being hardstuck in silver 1 on act 5 and at one point, I experienced being demoted to bronze 2. At that time, i'm only using my PC with wifi connection (with wifi dongle), 3 dollar mouse, and a 20 dollar decent mechanical keyboard. After using LAN cable for internet connection and upgrading to 15 dollar mouse, i literally shot past up to diamond within 15 days and climbed to ascendant 1 after an episode.

This is actually pretty common. I bought my first pc two/three month ago. I was playing on a laptop before. From the moment that i bought it i went from g3 to ascendant 2 in just an act
I think it would be very nice to see how these players doing when they are on a weaker side team. As u can see both the dualists on plat player team is significantly fragging better than the other. Which puts him at an easier position to trade, but what if he didn’t have those ppl to play off of?
yeah, but vise versa a lot of the time these players are on the losing side and theyre playing as consistantly as the rest of their teammates (all of the team going negative for example) but they look so much worse because theyre just losing by a landslide and the enemies are just better

Everybody thinks that its all about skills but one of the most notorious killer of great gameplay is packet loss and I hope valorant can do something about it
I can relate, I was hardstuck iron because of my garbage laptop, upgraded to a gaming laptop which isn’t the greatest but the game is acc playable, I hit diamond in an episode, and I’m currently at immo1 looking to build a proper setup, so I can grind for radiant, ig one thing u can work on regardless of ur rig is game sense, because I ranked up by outplaying my enemies rather than outaiming them
Yeah I used to have a garbage pc and I could not get out of Diamond 2 for the life of me but once I upgraded I was able to climb to IM 3.
I have right play everytime but i cant even react because of lag and fps drop playing on 40fps still manage reach to p1 I’m pretty sure i can hit atleast dia or asc yeah fps games sucks

if you go into appdata/local/valorant/config then select the 1st one click gameusersettings. scroll down all the way to the bottom and put the values to 0. for your resolution quality, put 40-50 and try and see how it is then

I agree, PC problems often do make you worse, I used to be far worse than my silver friends back when I played on 40 fps, the first round I played with my new PC was a custom with those same friends and at 400fps I absolutely destroyed them lol
4:09 gets pick short, plants for short, gets greedy and doesn't play on the plant for short. Good lineups, good aim, has a great info play, but should not be the last player alive if it can be helped. Especially with FPS diff.
Bro I feel his pain I’m hardstuck silver and I also think it’s cuz of my setup. My ping constantly jumps to almost 1000 and my frames are averaging 50-70. Even with my lag I still top frag almost every game
Just described my exact situation, the random jumps to 5000 ping and the constant rubberbanding makes playing with friends unenjoyable at best
I played FPS for years and got lag spikes like that. Never thought it would be wifi as i was near the router. I bought a powerline adapter and ever since then i've never had lag.

So I started playing in January, ranked in at Silver 1 and bounced between silver 1 and 2 for about 2 months and now I’ve just shot from silver 1 to gold 3 and I’m at 77 r points to get to Plat, is that good progress?

Sometimes gear will hold you back. Just upgrading my mouse to a one that supports higher IPS was enough to get Plat after being hardstruck silver.

Honestly, watching his gameplay, he didn't utilize his util a ton, his aim seems kind of stiff and gamesense seems a little foggy. But his pc did give him a big improvement, maybe he just needs to get use to his new pc

In apex i was hard stuck Diamond on a potato pc (getting 20-50fps)
i finally got a 4090 this year, and i instantly got to Masters rank, getting my first 20bomb, then hitting Pred

Is not even a question if it can, it surely does. You are probably not going to hit high rank with a potato pc. And if you do, that does not mean you are not being limited. When you get yourself a good pc you can actually learn more stuff that you were not able to do before. A good mouse, keyboard, and monitor are also very important. Actually i'm more than sure that 90% of low ranked people people have bad setups. The people who are plats/diamonds have goodish setups and the closer you get to Immortals/Radiants 90% of them have at least 300+fps with 240hz monitors, good keyboards and mice.
I can be like plat 3 if i could play on 60 fps i play on literal 40FPS and still topfrag games

this stream chat was ruthless for no reason, he played exceptionally well considering all the players in that lobby were ascendant 3 which would be almost 6 ranks above him. his util was great apart from maybe not taking advantage of some easy post plant spots and his aim although not perfect was still great for the rank he is at. i think his biggest problem was his fear to commit, he seems to overthink plays especially when bringing out the drone.
Stream chat is always going to be that way because they don't watch their own demo replays, so they tend to think they're better than they are. When they think they're better than they are, they gauge the person they're watching against their idealized version of themselves, but at their actualized current rank. So the Bronze player who thinks their play is really clean and their opponents are just gods can identify mistakes when watching a POV and go "That person is playing that worse than I would", because they can identify some mistake, without realizing how prone they are to the same mistakes or worse.
Very commonly you'll see players that actually demo review their play are much less likely to put their foot in their mouth this way, and if they **do** make claims about their level relative to another player, it's more likely to be accurate because they've taken the time to actually analyze their play. Can't stress enough how uncommon it is to do that for casual players (Or, really, players that don't play organized formats like scrims and PUGs)

@@v875-r6e There was about 3 different situations where it was post plant with 1 and 2 teammates left. He still didnt play ult. In ascendant Sova ults win rounds most of the time.
for me its not the frames that hold me back, its how my screen will randomly freeze while playing valorant and I would have to hard reset causing me to get a penalty for afk.

i had this problem as well. try updating your bios and changing power management mode to balanced (if youve changed it). ive not had any crashes since and there arent many tutorials that say this. give it a try 👍
my game has recently been having this problem too. Ever since last patch my game started doing this and I've never figured out why. I downgraded my computer back to Windows 10 from Windows 11, which seems to have fixed it so far.
if you have win11 thats the problem, valo isnt optimized for win11. i juts changed my priority and it fixed my problem

My story was EXACTLY like his. Playing from right when it was released, hard stuck in silver cause 40fps and stuttering. Upgrade to 240 fps. I literally flash my way out of silver. Before I know it I'm play and in a month or more I'm ascendant. Currently immo1

Sova ults are notoriously hard to time, since one wrong ult could fk up your entire team or an enemy could just rush you. Most of the time we use it in attacking when team is grouped up or if someone is trying to plant on another site.
To be fair, some of the times he doesn't use utils are when he's left by himself and he has no info and he's not in a safe corner. I'd rather be holding a gun than a bow/shadow orb thing. Rather, it's more his pathing and positioning in those situations that need more work.
i actually understands this guy, he can go ascendent if he grinds because PC upgrade is a Huge factor when it comes to playing Esports title, I bought a new laptop with 165hz Refresh rate (legion 5 2021 with 3070 ) i went from Gold 3 to Ascendent 3 in 9 days Ep 6 Act 1 and now im immo 2 and 3 just dancing between the Ranks :)
There is a point in his argument because if your laggy enough you can’t defuse the spike and I’ve lost matches because of that but some benefits is sometimes if you miss it just gives you back your shot there’s also somthing about that that’s bad because it can happen if you hit them too but another op thing is you can sometimes see through smokes it’s happened to me 2x with the neon wall so there are ups and downs

as someone who has peaked in ascendant with an i5 10500 and a gtx1650. your frames dont mean as much as you think, as long as you arent lagging constantly you can live off 100 frames. i hit ascendant 2 times on 80-120 fps.

Honestly, I'm pretty shit at the game. I got a computer upgrade and yes I did make it to ascendant but it wasn't anything crazy. The only problem I have is playing on a laptop screen is so painful (I react really slowly if the enemies are further away, because I legit dont see them lmao) and I long for the day I upgrade to a bigger monitor.

Yes I would guess Sova for guess the Plat in Ascendent lobby only because he went so long without using hit ult which is a huge problem in lower ranks so I would guess him lower. Other than that he has aim matched with the rest of them.
I can definitely say your pc affects your performance a lot, i used to play on a crappy laptop which used to stutter and give like 40fps, i have a pc now with a big monitor and 244hz. I have gone from bronze to plat, btw i dont play much usually like 4-5 every 2 weeks
From what i can see, he can comfortably go to diamond but not ascendant. He can touch ascendant but idk whether he can make do in a high ascendant/low immortal lobbies. His utility usage is barely anything but he does have good aim. The attacking darts requires more variation, and some other situation where u shouldnt go for a lineup, he should have winging it while running with his team to have better positioning. I barely ever seen him droning, this might be hindsight but it might be due to his teammate telling not to so who knows. Ults should be use, if u are scared to use or want to save for next round, it will never end well. Theres alot of situation where u should have ult'ed and are really safe (like in round 17, u should have backed off and ulted b site when they are executing, you are safe since theres an omen behind you plus B site is small, so you should get some picks). On pistol first round defending, u shouldnt use ur dart immediately cuz most of the time enemy just braindead rush into sites, use it for retake or helping the guy on site. Lineups shouldnt be used extensively, I barely ever have lineups since they require too much prep and uses too much time lining up where u should have position urself better in gun duels with your teammates. Sure there is some lineups u can use but most of them should be lenient and not pixel perfect. This is my opinion on him playing Sova.
Im also the same but i peaked plat 2 and i think i could do better if i had a better pc im currently playing on 1060 or something x 768 resolution and i find it really hard to kill enemies with the huge crosshairs and i need to cap my fps to 60 because if i dont everytime my frames drop my pc would crash everytime i play fracture or pearl i drop to 55 and with a harbor on the team id be in 40

I was hard stuck gold cause i had 60 hertz monitor then i discovered the monitor could give 75 hertz(budget pc no multithreaded rendering) after that reached plat, then i got a laptop 144herts/180fps, i limit the fps to prevent over heating my laptop , stopped playing for some time and started playing again , reached diamond and this act reached Ascendant 2 (so i can relate hardware really holds you back but there is so much hardware can do, you have to know and admit your weaknesses and start strengthening them, daily exercise helps (physical)
I am bronze and personally think I deserve Silver-Gold 1, my gear, and PC mainly holds me back

This makes sense. In overwatch I went from Gold to Diamond in like 2-3 weeks after getting better PC and faster monitor.

Sova seems like (I’m only half way through the video) a good player not that good aim but good team player if they had coms they would do a lot better. But seems like they could hit ascendant soon if they learn how to use their util effectively

For me i dont have frame problems I just have a crap ton of ping spikes. I've tried everything to fix it but nothing worked. I've just summed it up to my wifi being bad and learned to deal with it. Hopefully Ill get gold soon

The problem for me is my frames. my refresh rate is 60 but most time it is 40 or below and while im in gun fight my fps just dips to like 10 fps and i loose.
