I own a 22 DCT 1100 Honda, and it is a real motorcycle. Has manual shifting not foot shifting if choosing to ride it in manual. On automatic, it can down shift by pushing the manual shifting button too on automatic or DCT setting so it helps like engine breaks too (manual shifting down) up shifting the same. It is good before a high-speed turn and after avoiding using the breaks. This is a smart motorcycle, and it is not a scooter. It has six speeds. I love the integrated parking brake, cruise control, and antilock brake. I rode manual cars and motorcycles, and it is fun, but it gets annoying the shifting in the long run. This Honda is good for the money it cost but more importantly, Honda has very reliable engines.
Im almost 6ft tall and I found the Rebel 1100T to be fairly small, buy still doable, but once I saw this: 3:48 It made me realize how huge I must look on it. If I had to get one, they may make a Manual one in 2024 now. Retails $1K less too, so might pick that up.
I am all about the concept of the DCT, its just currently not available on a bike id buy right now. Lets pair it with the four cylinder already, Honda!
The acceleration of the Rebel 1100 is quite amazing, it only has a top speed of 160 kph (100 mph) but it gets there so fast there are not many other "cruisers" that can match it over a short distance, I usually get caught once we get to the higher speeds but they have to work hard to catch me lol.
I'm not a fan of that type of bike but it does look good and as for not being a real motorcycle coz its a automatic well what about bikes with a quick shifter just my opinion
I love the so call real bike and this one too, today i relax with mine and is just such a joy. Here in the states thr dealers still 2023 can not keep then on the showroom. You find non, unless you order it for your self.
Just under 6k on mine. It's a amazing machine. Gives you options between scooter and Supersport all in one bike. Super fun in the twisties but easy around town. For those complaining about the DCT, what are your opinions on slipper clutches? Not a huge diff in my opinion. You still have to manage shifting if you want to get max out of the bike whether it's overriding the current gear selection or switching to manual.
What about those who may have a disability that prevents them from using a clutch?!? The DCT is perfect for them!!! I guess that a Dodge Challenger Hellcat with an automatic transmission is not a “real” car!?! Give me a break with that nonsense!
Honda need to bring out a forward control option and an option to move the seat back and up a bit. Forward controls are an aftermarket option but they aren't cheap.
Make sure you have a toilet break before riding it unless you're short enough it doesn't put you in a crunched position. 😂....can get forward control on them....
A big Honda cock-up imo! Looks like a cruiser but feet are under you instead of way-out-front like Harley's, SO, I cannot consider it but thank you for testing!
@originalshadowfax Lol, as much as I would love to, my slightly deformed left hand stops me from riding a clutched bike, also do you drive a car and if so is it an automatic or is it a proper car, with a manual gearbox?
If the DCT isn't a real motorbike, does that mean cars with an automatic gearbox aren't real cars?
yes
Why do bikers criticize the dct but not the quickshift ?
Can't understand, people are like "automatic is dumb on bikes" but they buy quick shifters whenever they can 🤷♂️

Mine goes to 180kph / 110mph! (not US based)

As an owner of a Rebel 1100, o can assure you, the front end does NOT come up when you rap it.
But it makes for great content!! 😂
As i understand, Honda has option for more forward foot controls. I'd prefer those...
Only from aftermarket companies and they are expensive, £500.
You can pick up the forward foot controls now for about 150 to 200 . @@Hondadctrider
I like it, good job Honda. It would be nice to have to have trunk for a Helmet

I would love one for long-distance touring but at 6ft the seating position is a concern ;-[

Sounds like Piers Morgan with a helmet on. I love it. 😂
my left ear enjoyed this
How tall you are?
6ft
@@BikesofRye thank you

🏍👍
Sounds like my VFR750.
A big scooter ............... 🤑🤑 Plus the usual with bikes these days, no pillion provision to speak of
Nothing like a scooter.
@@Hondadctrider Its twist and go, therefore a scooter dressed up to look like a real bike
@@originalshadowfax So when I'm using the paddles to change gear in manual mode?
@@Hondadctrider Buy a bike with gears ........ if you want to change gears, otherwise stick to your big scooter

Grown arse man giggling like a toddler on a swing....im getting one
who cares of its automatic, just fking ride your own bike!
The Rebel 500 and 1100 seem terrible. Cramped riding position, uncomfortable and terrible handling. Much better cruisers out there
Like the thought of an auto, shame the bike fell out the ugly tree.😢
Looks okay without the fairing and bags.
Hundred and eighty three cc lol
The engine looks a bit bigger than that to me!
Think it’s just a slip of the tongue 👅
dont like dct..
