Interview with “Monkey Man” Actor/Producer/Writer/Director, Dev Patel

Dev Patel makes his directorial debut with the delicious and salacious world of Monkey Man. We talk about the important of telling our own stories, the multidimensional ‘Dev Gaze’ in addressing culture (class , caste etc) women (the rights and lack of rights), ancient cultures having more than two genders as well as religious and political tensions. We talk about how this felt non negotiable.

Really really loved this interview. You can see Dev well up when he sees that she really gets the ethos of the movie. He deserves all the praise and compliments, even though he has a hard time accepting them.
