Big thanks for this lesson! I have been putzing around with this tune for years but never really learned it properly. I saw Pat recently live (for the first time ever!) and was inspired to learn this after the played it. The lesson helped me to connect the dots and now I have the necessary "tools" on how to approach the song that no longer feels intimidating. Wonderful tune and lesson! More please using this format.
Wow! I've seen lots of your videos and they are always educational but this lesson has a years worth of practicing material. Such gems here! I love the sound of triad pairs especially when you can get that legato sound of a wind instrument. Beautifully done.
Something I've discovered over the years, is that usually, the more complicated a chord sounds, the easier it is to play. 🙂 Love your content by the way. Thanks.
What a fantastic lesson. I have loved this song since high school. Which was not too far from when it came out :) It is so great to get a handle on it after all these years! Thank you Mikko!
Wow. Mikko!!! Long time no see. We were in Toronto. Probably you don’t remember me (I was in first year when you graduated) but anyways really nice to see you. Thanks for the sharing!!!
Wow Mikko you out did yourself on this one. Your videos are always well thought out and topnotch but this was amazing. Any guitarist or musician will be able to reference this video long after you and I are gone, again….brilliant!
Awesome vid, thanks for the insight. Just gonna mention 10:00 I like to think of them as fourths, the 5ths seem more like passing tones since the 4ths are one the strong beat
Dear Mikko I remember faintly ED- BA- Ed + BA- ED- BA+ ED- BA- ED player of course over ajor Being the Chick Corea invention of 4 Tones a scale : Tetratonic Scale..Wish this to be any help
If you listen to Pat you can clearly hear the voicing Bb over A. There is also an open E in there. Check out the video with Ulf Wakenius for example. The play A in the bass all the time. I hope that answers your question why I talk about it

Too stuff as ever Mikko! What was the book you mentioned at the end … ?
It's a Sid Jacobs book. There is a suggestion link to my video on the book when I mention it
@@Mikkokosmos Tak så mycket! 🙏
Your guitar sounds really good. I have that same model, where are you plugged? (which amp)? thanks
Thanks. I'm using a Tanglewood acoustic amo. That's what you're hearing most of here
Great video! Are you playing that Godin without an amp? I am very curious about the Multiac but have never played one or heard one in person
Thanks. No I'm using two amps here. Stereo
@@Mikkokosmos Is that the Grand Concert with the 2" nut?
Could you do an analysis like that on Falling Grace?

@@Mikkokosmos That would be great! Thanks for giving it a thought

Ty Mikko! Can you tell me pls, what looper are you using that allows for rec A & B section?
Thanks 😀 I'm just using a Boss Loop Station. I'm not sure what you mean by A & B section? 🤔🤔🤔
11:23 "Sixthhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

the bass in Bb is Bb, the chart is wrong. why do you talk about Bb/A? Burn the real book
Cheers, great work!
I have the pat metheny songbook, that also says Bb/A, but if you go to the record, jaco plays clearly Bb
If you listen to Pat you can clearly hear the voicing Bb over A. There is also an open E in there. Check out the video with Ulf Wakenius for example. The play A in the bass all the time. I hope that answers your question why I talk about it
