Great video as always! I've almost pulled the trigger on getting this a couple of times in the past month, and this review has definitely helped. Now I just need to get the approval of the CFO (my wife).
enjoyed the review! its a nice mic with some solid features. the info you provide on the channel has been a lot of help to me and i’ve recommended you to a few musician friends too
Of all the videos in my feed and all of the turmoil going on in the world today I have to say I’m like a kid in the candy store when I see your mug with a new product review. Thanks for the divertissement.
Replay!!! Great video as always!!! A deep dive into the mic! I may have to reconsider the gear I have while traveling. My normal tools are the SE215 monitors with built in mic, MV88+ or with the Shure interface, I will be replacing my EV RE320 with the an SM7DB and moving the 320 for travel.
Yup, looks like a great plug & go for mobile podcasters. Sometimes you just can't drag all the extra processing or waste time on it so this looks like will get most people somewhere useful quick & easy...
Nice mic, good review, thank you. I have the orginal MV7, this looks to be a good update, but honestly, not sure if it is worth replacing my OG MV7, would I use it more than that one? Unlikely.
Sounds best via XLR with processing. Sounds really good with raw XLR. Still sounds good with USB. I just bought one. Also bought an XLR to USB adapter so I can have the XLR sound but still plugged into my phone.
Possibly… my room is soooo tiny. And I might have done more compression than you liked on the mic for my room demo. I do like a lot of compression and proximity fx on my voiceover stuff
I always wondered if these Shure mics where just a hype, and what makes them so special that every podcaster use them… might be because they give it away to most of them, creating the hype? What happened to the old sm58, there is a big improvement in sound quality? What about your new favourite mic, how compares to that one. Cheers Scott
Nexadyne is my favorite mic for live. The sm7db is my favorite for studio. This one is my favorite for travel. I’ve always been a fan of Shure. But as long as you find a mic that works for you, that’s what’s important. Funny you mention it, I just finished a gig today and my singer had an sm58 and I had the nexadyne and he goes “why does you mic sound so much better?” And he asked to switch lol
I wish there wer more instruction Videos in how to connect it with USB-C Cable into Cubase. Cuz I just bought it and my Cubase wont find it in the input section…
Do the software settings load and save onto the mic itself? I want to be able to move this mic from my personal computer to a work computer, but maintain the same configuration (e.g., loudness, denoise, etc.) since I'm a bit restricted with corporate laptops.
Would it be ok to use to mic up an amp when traveling so that you can have the ability to record video and audio directly on the phone? For the convenience. @ScottUhlMusic
@@allboutthemojo to mic up a guitar amp? I don’t know about that. I mean, it’s a mic so it technically is possible. But I would look into a direct rig and recording that way. Even getting an iRig and recording in Bias or Amplitube software would make things easier 👍
@ScottUhlMusic oh I just meant if you want to do a quick and easy video when you're playing in your room while on vacation. You still want good quality but you don't want to record audio and video separately and then sync. Just have the phone record everything
Hello, thank you so much for the review. Recently I have purchased this mic. Actually I am a blind person. I am running TH-cam channel for blind people. But I have some doubts in this mic. How can I contact you? Please tell me

Best travel mic it certainly looks like!
I love it! It’s perfect for that 🤘

I have an SM7B, and the OG MV7. Been thinking about picking this up, and giving my MV7 to my sister for us to podcast.
Great video per usual!
Thanks for the review, Scott!
Thanks for watching!
Is this mic good for recording music vocals?
The sound in the hotel room sounds more natural than from your home🤷♂️ is it just me?

Hi Scott. Please review Rolls PM351 iem system
Can you connect this mic on 2 computers 1 via USB and 2 via XLR? Do I need to use my Cloudlifter or Dynamite on one of these connections? Thanks
I haven’t tried connecting to two computers… that would be interesting to see if that worked. And it doesn’t need a cloudlifter
@@ScottUhlMusic Thanks for the reply. Reason I asked is because 1 TH-camr said he's done it and it worked just fine.

I got the mic plugged into a interface and it don’t let me turn the gain up and it’s static
hi! can i use this with garageband on ipad or iphone??

I’m not sure, but you can always save the preset and load it if not 👍
Where can we exactly get the motiv mix app ? Thank you ..
In the App Store 👍
What phone are you using your Shure mic on and what’s the cord you’re using?
@@ckidjr85 I have an iPhone 15, and the cord is USB C to USB C

Audio delay when in USB mode is rather bad - lipsync isn't good :(
