RTFS - Southeast Florida Fishing Marathon

Every late spring and early summer the nesting loggerhead turtles bring the big tiger, bull and hammerhead sharks to the southeast coast beaches. This type of adventure isn't for everyone, but once you see this week's episode of Reel Time with Florida Sportsman you may be throwing your offshore trolling tackle into the trunk of your car and heading to the beach.

You need to use Kite fishing rigs to take the lines out. They fish on the beach
that way in Australia all the time off the beach. Just do a search for kite fishing
in Australia and you will see them using homemade electric reel systems that
sit on the ground. They even use multi hook lines from same kite.

Hey George I know this video has been up for a while, but now is when I finally saw it. I'm a shark fisherman too and let me tell you it's a hell of an experience. I've been doing it already with a couple buds of mine and some 12' and 10' for about two years. And just some tips for the future. Best bait are sting rays and yea bonitas will do the job a lot of times but they love sting rays dead or alive specially those big Hammers.

Been trying to catch that fish for 10 years....on a hand line ...5 years ago we maid a hand line never got to use it in Islamorada bad weather came in had to leave .... 10 years now might as well go for 11

Hey I'm goin to marathon in late march and was wondering a few things. What can you catch a mile or so out in 20 feet of water. I'm bringing my kayak anyone have any. I ideas were to go. And lastly can I catch grouper snapper or mahi in 20 feet of water thanks for the help.
