    I love how intelligent and articulate these UK and European artists are. The extreme aspect of the music they create and the contrast with their calm demeanor and how kind they are never cease to amaze me.

      Dave has, I think, a doctorate in philosophy. Very intelligent bloke, and a lunatic on stage!

      most extreme metal fans are calm, kind and smart people at least from what I know after 20 years of looking at musicians and fans in the genre. I'm also like that yet you can listen to my recordings on my channel and you would never know I write such music besides the t-shirts I wear haha

    So what causes Endarkenment? It probably has something to do with not teaching critical thinking in schools. I definitely think it has something to do with people's developmental processes and information gathering being intentionally sabotaged by actors with an agenda. As for the distrust in experts, I believe it's simply the experience many have had that "experts" would be cited as a reason for bringing in changes that were perceived to be against the interests of the common people. If they're seen as just an excuse for exploitation, they naturally wouldn't seem credible for long.
    One could also argue that we've had it so easy recently compared to history that we've become complacent and lost our vigilance. Luxury beliefs are spreading and a lot of people have been dodging the consequences of ignoring reality for decades. The best we can probably do at this point is to channel these impulses productively before they blow us all up.

    • @shurik121
      @shurik121 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it's the lack of critical thinking, and the amount of information we all are bombarded with every day. I don't want to sound like a luddite, but the internet and the social networks play a huge part in it. Whatever dumb nonsense you want to spread - you can do it easily, and people without critical thinking will fall for it and help you to spread it.
      The best example of it is how flat earth nonsense is back again. It always existed in some form and was laughed at constantly, but now anyone can go on youtube, record a video with some bullshit pseudo-scientific explanations and voila - there's one more drop in a sea of nonsense. People without basic understanding of how science works will look at it and wonder whether they were lied to their entire lives, which is how conspiracy theories are born. The entire idea of flat earth is so ridiculous, and was proven wrong more than 2000 years ago, that it's really frightening that there are people now who believe it and are willing to go in public to spread their nonsensical theories.
