O love divine, how sweet thou art (Wesley) - arr. for piano by Peter Duckworth

  • Humble John the Baptist, cousin of our Lord and the greatest of all the Old Testament prophets, stood aside when Jesus came and declared it his greatest joy "to hear the Bridegroom's voice". If that was what it was like for him as the "friend of the bridegroom", or as we would say, the best man, what must it be like to be the Bride of Christ, to sit at his feet and to hang on his every word! This is what Wesley understood and practised, which explains the strain of sweetness running through all his hymns.

I love this hymn with this tune! I also love the hymn Had I 10,000 gifts beside, sung to this tune. Thanks for sharing it.
