@JonMGilbertson I wish I would have been there for that one. Silkworm was my favorite band for a number of years. I was bummed when Joel Phelps left the band. Needless to say devastated when I caught wind of Michael's tragic death. I saw Silkworm play an amazing show at The Satiricon in Portland Or in the late 90's. It was Michael's birthday. In the middle of the set Michael's parents brought out a birthday cake for him. He blew our the candles, hugged his parents and went back to rocking.
i saw silkworm at the EMP in seattle with mission of burma and then drove to sa francisco to see mike watt/silkworm and burma again at the filmore....INSANELY GREAT GIGS!!!
just finished watching it, and i really don't have anything to say, just do yourself a huge favor and buy this. thank you so much Hargrove House Productions.
Just started listening to them, can’t believe I’d never heard of them before. Also, I guess I should get used to Jason Molina popping up in any given music documentary to break my heart again, RIP
That's "His Mark Replies." It's kind of the second half of a song called "The Operative." Both on It'll Be Cool. Michael is playing guitar instead of drums on this one.
Silkworm is the best thing to ever come out of Montana. Also, it is the only thing I've ever known to come out of Montana. But I bet if I knew anything else from Montana it wouldn't touch Silkworm anyway.
the thing about Henry James made me crack up. In my English class, all these kids showed up one day wearing Coldplay shirts (they'd been in town the night before) and that same day we had to read a bit of one of James' novels in class. Guess which students bitched that we should be reading something "good like Twilight" instead...hahaha whatever, Silkworm is the shit
"People who like Silkworm, REALLY like Silkworm" -So true.
Only saw them once (Firewater tour) but they changed my opinions greatly about music and the importance of thinking outside the box.
lucky. would kill to have seen a show from that tour
