I'm gonna say something that might be controversial related to this film...No one WANTS a Sinster Six movie. Or to be more specific, no one wants a Sinister Six movie without Spider-Man.
Sony is OBSESSED with making a shared universe and have repeatedly prioritized making that over making a good movie in general. Why should we be excited over The Vulture meeting Morbius when he hasn't met Spider-Man and doesn't even know who he is? It's just so asinine, it makes my head spin...

I knew Milo was going to be the villain pretty immediately. First, because the incident with the bullies served no purpose other than to show that he was willing to commit violence; second, because it's the most cliche route the movie could have taken and it already established it was definitely that level of a movie; and third, because his real name is Lucien which a total evil vampire name.
You must have a pretty high IQ to have seen that twist coming when the movie did such an excellent job of telling its story and setting up the twist. Truly a masterpiece.

Morbius wasn't even true vampire. He only became that way because he was doing something with Peter Parkers/Spider-Man's blood, which he stole, then a bat drank it. While trying to get the bat away Morbius got bit and turned into a vampire-like being. (I'm rewatching 1994 Spider-Man on Disney Plus)

I think the reason why Morbius was able to summon the bats is they already adopted him as family at that point. Morbius recognizes his enemy, and so does the bats.
Seeing how bad this movie is makes me worry for how bad the kraven the hunter solo movie will be.

Disclaimer I haven't watched it yet. But I feel like Morbius is on par with Venom. When the venom trailers came out remember lots of people didn't have high expectations of it. so with low expectations as long as it's a decent movie you're gonna enjoy it somewhat. Because most people don't have any knowledge of the vamp and they advertised it to tie in with NWH expectations were high. So it was bound to be a let down

Absolutely the worst movie of the year. It's the next Catwoman. But considering many people defend Catwoman as a nostalgic misunderstood classic, I am terrified to soon meet people who see it as a underrated classic and don't know why people hated it back then. I know there's a trend now where people call it a Oscar winning masterpiece but they are ironic, trolling around jokes, I'm talking unironically thinking it's a great movie. Give it 10 years and I will be depressed to see it happen.

I'm not so sure, those movies have at least a bit of background, Catwoman came out in an era when superhero movies wasn't something serious, and we're really Goofy, nowadays people like this movie because they already don't expect much and know it's just so bad that it's good, morbius on the other hand is a product of greed of a greedy company, I don't see this movie becoming a misunderstood classic

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Morbius. The exquisite drama is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of vampire lore and decades of Marvel comics most of the jokes and genius will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Morbius's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Morbius truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Michaels existential catchphrase '' I am venom... Only kidding," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Jared Leto's genius wit unfolds itself on their movie screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂
And yes, by the way, i DO have a Morbius tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel Vee and guys 😎

It would have been a cool nod, could have done a thing where DC comics existed in the marvel universe and marvel comics existed in DC movies... Could be a way to set up the inevitable Justice League vs Avengers movie/TV show we are guaranteed to get in the next 20 years (when comicbook movies are starting to lose money im sure both DC and marvel will be open to work it out like they did with the comic)
What? You forgot to mention the best part of this masterpiece of a movie. Remember when Morbius looked into the camera and said "It's Morbin Time!" and morbed all over his enemies? True cinematic art right there.

@@seanyedgar94 I honestly would like to see Paul Giamatti return as the Rhino. The campy performance was even somewhat accurate to how Rhino acts in the comics, and I have got to say, whoever said that the skin-tight costume from the comics was better than a giant (at least) 12-foot-tall rhino mech charging at you while firing from machine guns and blasting missiles clearly doesn't know how awesome of an adaptation that is. I honestly do hope he returns for a full role, and that this new universe will be the Amazing Spider-Man universe so that we can see Andrew fighting a Sinister Six. Either that or Vulture will assemble most of the members and then find a way back to confront Spider-Man, maybe even picking up Michael Mando's Scorpion when he gets back. I gotta have something to believe in after this meme of a set-up.

There is a Spider-Man villain and member of the later iterations of the Sinister Six called Boomerang, and since Jai, who played Captain Boomerang for DC, might not return to the DCEU due to his death in the Suicide Squad, he could get a fresh start with Marvel, and the joke would basically be like "New franchise, same Boomy!" XD
I’m saying as a film Director the only way the story would’ve worked is make it a more down to earth in the lower budget concept with a more visionary Director, go for a R rating and push on some of the horror elements. It would be completely uncomfortable and fearful becoming the monster:

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you on this, clearly you haven't fully viewed the masterful yet subtle story telling.
Jared letto's performance is truly masterful yet witty dialogue kept me engaged through and through, he kept me gripped onto this film like a monkey clutching onto his child during a heat of tornado.
The action pieces in this film was truly *epic*, every time the slow moe appeared had it's purpose, with those few glorious seconds where it is presence you are able to soak in the glorious jared lato's face

I refuse to support this spiderman’s spidermanless villains actually been anti-heroes universe. I know compare Joker to this movies might seems out of proportion, and I’m talking about this based in two terribly boring and cringy Venom movies and the trailers of Morbius, but something that did Joker a really good movie is that, even thought you might sympathize with Arthur, by the end you know he is a villain. If you are going to made a Villain’s cinematic universe, made them villains. The Anti-hero approach is coward and mediocre. Do it right or don’t do it.

I hate Morbius but I have to disagree on the camera getting blood on it. I LOVE that stuff. Look up Camera Abuse on TV Tropes for more examples. Love it in video games too. Has the possibility to immerse you more rather than taking you out of it.
