This makes the Record function clear. A text description would take many pages and following it more difficult to understand than this video (see the Search and Navigate video first). Fantastic!

This video along with TTT388 help me, I was stuck on trying to get this to work but after watching your videos I understand how to use it correctly. Thanks. I will make time to watch all your other MSO5000 videos in the next few days.

Thanks! When I first got mine I didn't figure you the record function. Once I figured out how to use a single trigger with a slow time base, had to let prebuffer fill up first, I wondered what point the record function had. Very interesting and helpful

Maybe the newer firmware has changed things, but for me it behaves differently. First, the recording interval (you didn't touch on this) setting doesn't seem to do anything. when the trigger mode is "Auto" the frames record/advance at every trigger (including auto trigger). Setting the mode to "Normal" will result in recording a frame when it is actually triggered by the trigger setting. Secondly, once I start the recording, I can not stop it. The touch screen and all buttons are disabled until the frames reaches the number of frames setting. The same is true during playback. This seems problematic. Also, the search function seems to work for events with very long periods between events. I tested with 1Hz pulse signal and it worked, but obviously, the sampling rate is very low when trying to capture multiple far-apart events in this way, which is why the record function is useful.
EDIT: It seems at least I can stop playback with the STOP button (square in the Navigation cluster of buttons on the scope itself).

The red buttons next to the screen menu items still work, to change the menu items (e.g., to stop recording or playback) while the other buttons are being disabled. Recording and playback intervals seem to be working fine with v00.01.03.02.02 (2023/01/04).

Did you connected a mouse to the scope, or is this the computer software?
