Once the truth was revealed about her childhood, it was a gut punch to know someone so talented & adored, lived such a painful & tragic life, behind the scenes. 💔 Rest in Peace Judy.
Poor soul was surrounded by monsters from birth. I hated that she passed away much sooner than she should have but at the same time it had to feel like a blessing of peace for her.
Her rendition was the original. It was written for "Meet Me in St Louis" and it's one of the reasons I watch that movie in December, even though it's not really a Christmas movie 🙏❤
I agree. In fact, the pairing of her and Margaret O'Brien in the movie was the heart of the movie. Both exceptional performances. Judy was a beautiful soul, with a beautiful voice. It would appear that her mother was her living nightmare throughout her childhood career, and resulted in something she could not escape on her own. Lord Jesus save the innocent children.⚘️
The way her face changed from genuinely happy to closed off when her childhood and mother were brought up. She looks so anxious and angry. Rightfully so. She is one of those people where if time-travel was possible, you'd go back give her a hug and some hot choccy. My gods i know ots cliche to say, but she desserved so much better out of life she really did, and it speaks volumes that despite how hard it must have been for her later in life, Judy's kids speak very highly of her. Despite her troubled life she was still a good mother to her kids, she clearly loved them allot more than her mother loved her, and i think that speaks volumes to her strength that she could go through so much but still be a good person that her children look up to.

When she said "my grandmother", the way she looked away and her eyes changed. The pain was evident. Back in that day, to be so honest about your horrible parent wasn't the norm. Most of these performers from her era and before were exploited and treated horribly. Just was such a talent. Sad she died so young. RIP Judy
Still to this day. The child from Home Alone. Drew Barrymore etc.
A stolen cruel loved childhood 😢😢❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@teresacroft7409 I remember the date she died (June 22, 1969), because my youngest nephew was born on that day fifty years after Judy left this world.
This still happens to this day
They still are.
Rest in heaven beautiful Judy. 🤍
What a wonderful talent. RIP Judy Garland. ❤ You deserved a better life on earth.
Judy breaks my heart.
I was younger when I heard her sing the man who got away live at Carnegie hall…dad had the record album and I had to stifle tears.
I didn’t even know why I was crying but I knew the way her heartbreak shone through that golden voice.
Once the truth was revealed about her childhood, it was a gut punch to know someone so talented & adored, lived such a painful & tragic life, behind the scenes. 💔 Rest in Peace Judy.
Absolutely well said😢
Poor soul was surrounded by monsters from birth. I hated that she passed away much sooner than she should have but at the same time it had to feel like a blessing of peace for her.
My goodness, this person never stood a chance! What a sad story. One of the greatest voices of all time 😢
I love Judy Garland …. Breaks my heart to see her overcoming so much hurt…..
The sadness in her beautiful eyes. RIP Ms Garland. You were brilliant and so very talented.
The way her whole disposition changed after Barbara started asking questions about her childhood 🥺
Mother living vicariously through her child, sad. But it happens all the time.
Her rendition of”Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas “ is the best. Makes me cry every time
Her rendition was the original. It was written for "Meet Me in St Louis" and it's one of the reasons I watch that movie in December, even though it's not really a Christmas movie 🙏❤
Totally agree with you ❤
My favorite
It's possibly the saddest song in the world and I don't even know if it was meant to be so heartbreaking in the film.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I can hear Liza Minnelli's voice thru her mom here.
RIP to both mom & daughter.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Good bless her in heaven. 🕊️😲😲
You can feel the harrowing despair in her voice you can see it in her facial movements. Such a class act and such a fallen star
Poor Judy. She's telling the truth. God rest her soul❤❤
RIP Judy. May God bless you over the rainbow.

She is so absolutely beautiful. I wish she knew just how other people saw her. A true legend.
Given her upbringing and treatment by the studios, it’s a wonder she survived as long as she did. She deserved much better.
Judy was & still is One of the Greatest entertainers of all time!!
Beautiful & supremely talented!!
@@randyscott2256 Even her speaking voice is exquisite...
My mom was a teenager in the 40s. She loved Judy so much. She cried so hard when Judy died.
The Wizard of Oz, it's just awesome.
Judy absolutely deserved the world, she had such a rough life and was greatly taken advantage of. I hope she’s at peace now❤❤
❤❤❤❤Judy we love you
The way her face changed from genuinely happy to closed off when her childhood and mother were brought up.
Wow - fighting severe childhood trauma like that to still entertain and bring happiness and love to millions all her life was truly a gift. Rest in peace for eternity somewhere better than this universe 🌅🫶🏻✨💫
They seem to have a "switch" which could do that
Johnny Carson was a mess in his personal relationships.
He wouldn't even see his only granddaughter and he died alone
You are my favorite actress of all time. I am so sorry you were abused by the people who were supposed to love you. Hollywood and abusive parents have not changed.
Poor, dear Judy. Such an angel, meanwhile she was everybody's piggy bank, they destroyed her. But she was strong and persevering, she fought for herself and her children so fiercely. Her trauma finally caught up to her, she was 💯a victim of child abuse, neglect, deprived of food, psychological and emotional abuse. Just tragic , but she never let it get her down
She deserved better 😔
Not one single person in her corner, from infancy. Our hearts break for her lifelong suffering. 😢😢
Her smile melted away so fast
I wish Judy Garland was alive today so I could hug her & she could see how much she is LOVED!!
she'd be over 100 ... pretty sure she wouldn't stand for randos walking up and hugging her and calling it LOVE (especially if they turned their capslock on, that would really bug her)
Im sure she’d appreciate how many people loved her but the one person she needed it most from didn’t provide it and that’s a loss too difficult for many to recoup from no matter how many millions loved her.

“I’ll wrap you around the bedpost & break you off short!!!”
Even though her life was full of Bullies
Her indomitable Spirit Always shone through… !!! She made life better for Millions with Beauty & Strength!!
Blessing her Wonderful Spirit Always!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Poor Judy. Nothing but love and respect for her.
Oh, my. It just breaks your heart to hear her. Judy Garland was a contemporary of my mother. We both enjoyed Judy’s movies so much. What an incredible talent she was!! Rest sweetly, dear Frances Gumm.
What a legend Judy Garland is
Judy Garland brought joy and delight to others, borne of her own personal tragedy, as diamonds are borne from tremendous pressure. Hopefully she knew that she was appreciated and loved, and a real gem.
Judy Garland--she deserved SO much better after all that was done to her in the name of her career. I really hope she is in a better place. ♡
Sad childhood 😢. Fantastic talent. This explains a lot.
So Much Pain. RIP. Beautiful Lady.
WOW! That woman was treated SO poorly by EVERY ADULT in her life! Yet, she gave her all for the world! She truly had the voice of an angel!! I hope she’s up in Heaven relaxing & living in peace! I know she’s being treated better up there than she was down here!! R.I.H. Judy - You deserve it!❤
I feel so sorry for her such a beautiful voice and so much talent i wish she were alive rest in peace 🙏
Is that "Barbara Walters," doing the interview? Sure sounds like her. What an epic pair those two were! One of a kind!❤❤
Oh judy, so beautiful. 💜
When she said "my grandmother", the way she looked away and her eyes changed. The pain was evident. Back in that day, to be so honest about your horrible parent wasn't the norm. To see her talk about her mother with her eyes big and her chin up is the defiance she never had as a child against her mother. It's really heartbreaking to watch the emotion on her face and actions that such a talented actress but can't or doesn't think to hide when discussing what led to not just her career but agony
She looks really good here.
@@sharksport01 she does but she doesnt sound well.
I want to hug her 😢
Judy looks so lovely here. I wish she had a happier life and better people to support her when she was starting out.
Such a sad story and amazing artist ❤❤
I've heard so many HeartBreaking moments in her life ... I pray she slso experienced joy , love and happiness
I absolutely loved Judy Garland when I was a child. I’m 39 years old and grew up watching Meet Me in St. Louis. I still know all the songs by heart even tho i haven’t watched it in a long time. She had a beautiful voice and presence about herself. She didn’t deserve the horrible treatment she received by her mother. She was a gifted actress and singer, truly.
You remembering is part of her legacy…
I love that movie. I have watched it quite a few times. I consider it a Christmas movie and I actually just watched it again this past week! I love The Trolley song
I’m 43. My grandma had me watch that movie and I adored it. I taped it off the tv and watched it all the time. Loved her outfits and her sister. ❤happy new year!
She was a wonderful actress, I love to watch her movies.❤
She was well spoken n honest but wish she had a good upbringing.she was lovely 🌹 and always loved Judy .she loved her dad ❤️ n her dad knew it..🎉 that's good!! 💯💯
She died at 47, looked about 67. Tough life.
@@ellen672 god I hope I look like that at 67 😂😂😂
@@Ruthy101 this video is not when she was that old. Trust me she looked 20 years older than she was when she died
@@Ruthy101 but she’s not 67 tho?
She totally reminded me of actress in the original Back to the Future who played the mom in both 1955 and 1985. 😅 The aging seemed almost unnatural!
@@Ruthy101 He knows
Beautiful woman, rip~
God bless her sweet soul may she rest in paradise 🙏
Judy was beautiful when she was a young woman. Before the drinking and drugs ravished her body and spirit, she was gorgeous. She was at her best in Meet Me In St. Louis.
My heart goes out to anyone who never got a chance to truly live their childhood. Hopefully when they make it over the rainbow they’ll finally be able to do so 🫶🏼
I always watched The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, on January 1st back in the 70s, I couldn't wait, after Christmas with all the toys, and that great movie to watch!!😊😊😊😊
Such a true American treasure. She was an absolute Gem of a soul. I genuinely wished we still had stars like this.
My favorite female singer ever. No one could touch your heart like Judy.
