    Mom is a picker, likely from meth. She is spreading the bacteria to other open sores by constantly touching them, this is a known issue with meth users.

    The system cannot handle the number of abused and neglected children, how will this ever end?

  • @lostineggsaisle
    @lostineggsaisle ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Meth sores. Anxiety is a common excuse for meth sores because it explains picking, irrational behavior, being jittery, etc.
    The chemicals from meth that come out through your skin can cause a lot of issues for children if it comes in contact with them. Rashes, sores, and sometimes they can test positive for meth if there are somewhat large amounts of fluid excreted and spread. That's their main cause of concern. especially, since one of the kids got a rash after a visit. They should have drug tested him/her.
    It's really sad.

      @barbarat.2828 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Sometimes family is afraid because they know the parent will insist and avoid all rules to interfere. You, as a family member are not only taking in a child, but tying themselves to 2 drug dependant, irrational parents. Sometimes a stranger (well intentioned) is the only hope for children.

    • @DirtyUncleSAL
      @DirtyUncleSAL ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Excoriation disorders- (dermatillomania and trichotillomania specifically) are both self picking disorders that could cause sores and the picking that cause then. Just wanted to make sure that an alternative cause was represented for the picking. Because sometimes its not drugs.

    • @janessap1739
      @janessap1739 ปีที่แล้ว

      As per the sores…if it is indeed not the anxiety disorder the mom says it is, which it could be (just not sure I buy it tho- especially if she has used meth as her primary drug, but…)then yes, using meth can def cause those sores from itching & picking, rinse, repeat…
      But smoking crack? Rarely does that cause those or any other body/face sores. I’m a PT substance abuse counselor for about 15 years now, & Ive only seen a couple of addicts who used crack as their DOC & ever had sores anything like meth addicts get or even anything close. Crack is not body addictive like meth or heroin, or not too much, thus it doesn’t cause the phantom skin itches, the anxiety-caused skin picking, or the sensation of ‘bugs’ crawling under the skin, etc…not to say it can’t happen, but crack & meth are quite different drugs & on top of that, they don’t affect ppl all the same way. For many reasons. Just offering info here is all. Peace ✌🏻 😊

What he doesn't know is that Walmart sells Native American-style rugs & linens & "art". I'll bet neither of them has any true NA blood. If they want to claim that to benefit themselves, then they should have to know more about the family's NA ancestry. Defo drug+, why else refuse to test? I thought meth sores as soon as they started talking about them, then I thought maybe scabies or impetigo, then when the December drug test results were discussed I was back to meth sores. I just want to love up all the children who have horrible parents like these.

    I have the anxiety disorder that causes picking & I think she is lying. I mostly go after my face, arms & legs. There have been times my legs or arms were completely covered. Its also not something that happens all the time, I do have breaks where I don't have anything. It usually starts as an allergic reaction (I'm allergic to the world) & I just can't leave it alone. I have been diagnosed since I was a child. My mom would cut my nails thinking it would stop me. It didn't. My kids never once ended up with a rash or anything from being near me. I'm also really good about keeping what I can covered when I can. It's not easy & I struggle bad when I'm dealing with a flair up. The regret I feel is a whole nother story. This mom is on Meth.

    So I really wonder if they're telling the truth about the native American ancestry. The reason that a lot of people might hope for that lineage in a situation like this is because that's when the tribunal could step in and take custody of the child and CPS nor American laws can Trump that. Tribunals want native American children to stay within the tribe. Children would not be adopted out. Those parents would be taken into the reservation and given help and there's really no law in America that can supersede that. Go take a gander at the Indian child welfare act.

If she gets clean and is still picking then that's a legitimate diagnosis. Just not at this time.

    There have been news stories about heart wrenching cases of children being moved after years with a single caregiver or family, but I haven’t seen that play out in any of the cases on Zoom . The parents seem to think it will benefit them in some way. It might change their children’s living status, but I don’t think it will help their custody status , as the parents.

    • @OnTropolis

      There's a specific act for children of native heritage. ICWA (Indian child welfare act) and there are requirements for CPS cases or guardianships when a child has a tribal connection. The tribe has the right to be involved in the process to ensure that culturally appropriate things are taking place for any child removed from the parents. I have a few videos with ICWA involvement and find them quite interesting.

I don't actually just pick my skin into gross sores. But, unfortunately, I will have the same scab for months straight cuz I can't stop picking at it and let it heal properly. One summer, I legit looked like a junkie because I was getting bit by mosquitoes all over my legs and arms and I was scratching and picking at them so bad that they would end up scabbing and then I would pick them and pick them constantly so I would joke around to people that I swear I'm not a junkie LOL!
