    Repairing a motorcycle tire is like flipping a coin. “Heads” I live, “tails” I die. Dont be cheap with your safety people.

    • @Conqueefstador
      @Conqueefstador 2 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      How is it like flipping a coin? It’s like… repairing a motorcycle tire. I got new tires one time and had a flat as soon as I got home. Am I going to buy a new $200 tire or spend $20 to fix it?

    • @plap.
      @plap. 2 ปีที่แล้ว +43

      @@Conqueefstador what he is right about saying is when you only have two tires it's that much more important. It is very obvious bike and car tires are shaped and built differently. Structure damage and air pressure to a bike tire more of a concern. Like plugging a sidewall also not a good idea but people do it. Shit I slowed a leak on a new bike tire with a rock Jammed in the hole so I could make it 50miles back home. People can do anything they want but flipping a coin is the best analogy. Plugs are a repair they don't make it new and perfect again. And as far as bike tires go plugs are temporary till you buy a new tire,for safety. Lot cheaper than a hospital bill.

    I remember when there was a guy patching his trucks tire at a gas station. I naturally offered my help as he looked like he had no idea what he was doing. He managed to stab a new hole not knowing where the original hole was. People are correct. Don’t patch a motorcycle tire. Replace only. But if you’ve ever had a total flat, and you’re far away from help (but can get some air), this’ll get you home or to a repair shop. Probably don’t want to drive faster than 40-50 mph, less if you’re patching near sidewall. You must remember you are LIMPING home, and any speed is better than zero. I rode touring bikes for 400,000 mi and had to resort to BS fix once (put in a screw and hopped from gas station to gas station refilling tire). You can’t even push a touring bike a foot if the tire is flat.

    Is this considered safe?? I'd happily repair my tubeless bicycle tyres this way. But 250kg+ of motorcycle cycle & rider I can't say I'd be to confident. Unless it's just so you can get home/garage?

      No.
      Never ever do this unless you just need to get to the tire shop or get home.

      @@krotchlickmeugh627 🤣🤣 it sounds as if you're more the squid, only getting 4 k out of a tire they should be lasting about 7 to 8 with daily hard use.

    Wth is that blue stuff?
    Ive never used that when plugging any of my tires. And ive never had a leak without it.

    • @reXpair
      @reXpair  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not only blue stuff, you can find strip also different, 3 ply made by pure rubber. Together with vulcanizing fluid, strip will bond into tire.

    I’m part of a family business that fits tyres and wheels and I can safely say this is not needed. Don’t need any of this glue or whatever to fix it. Not calling out facts but I’m saying this is a scam and don’t believe what you see👍
