I carry everywhere...literally everywhere I go. It's not paranoia, it's preparedness. If my pants are on, so is my weapon. If my pants aren't on...it's within reach and you're going to look stupid getting taken down by a naked guy.
Uncle Sam Coleman I do the exact same thing. With my mags to. At least two extra mags on my person as well. Only time I take my handgun off my person is when I sleep, shower or shit. But its always within arms reach when I do those.
I literally just got done using the bathroom... and I brought my gun in there. I felt a little silly.. not gonna lie. But, I thought, "Hey, I don't wanna be caught with my pants down."
+JustAGuy Had an old live-in girl friend who wouldn't have sex on my side of the bed because of the guns under my pillow and mattress....she was afraid she might get shot in the booty ! lol
mckuletzz I thought about that strategy, but my concern is that someone could break in and find one of the other guns that are stashed. If you have a Glock just chilling in a kitchen drawer, you might want to rethink that. Some paranoia is good, but too much could end up getting you hurt. I saw a guy on 1000 Ways To Die that ended up dying because of his extreme paranoia. He had a shotgun pointed at his door with a motion detection firing device. I think they said that he woke up in the middle of the night, wasn't thinking because he was groggy, and walked in front of the motion detector.
I agree with Colion. I was once confronted by a man, when I was in my garage, doing work. He was peeking around the open car door when I spotted him. I immediately confronted him and saw he had an accomplice standing out front keeping watch. My garage was detached and past the back of my house. I told him to leave, in not a nice way, called the Denver police, and they showed up twenty minutes later. Great response time, right? If he had a gun, and balls, who knows what could of happened to me. I’ll never face an intruder again without a gun in my hand to protect myself. And by the way, the Denver cop seemed like he could of cared less about the incident. He never wrote down any information at all. Great protection right?
Cops are NOT protection! (Supreme Court even RULED that!) Cops come and write up the AFTER-action report. Why do you not know this? And WHAT would he write anything down for? Your description? "Yeah, so, um, black male, medium height, medium build, wearing a hoodie" -- yeah THAT will narrow it down!
Just experienced my second home invasion last week. Big dogs released prevented each group of invaders from reaching us. I recognize the fact that if I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. I'll always carry inside my house.
Home carry isn't crazy. My girlfriends parents live in a expensive house in the "rich" side of town. They are on a mountain side and in a relatively "safe" community. They use to sleep with their screen door open in their bed room that led out to their balcony because that door was the only way out there. One night my girlfriends mother woke up because she heard something outside and thought it was her cat so she calmly walked to the door to see a hooded figure at the far end. She thought it was one of her daughters who were living at home at the time and called out. The figured turned around and started walking towards her when she realized it was some strange man. She screamed at this point for her husband. The man kept walking towards her without hesitation. At the point of the screaming my girlfriends father woke up, grabbed his gun and ran to the door. The man was now only 10 feet away. Her father said he had a gun and would shoot, at the same time he said this he was raising the gun up taking aim and hr swore as soon as his sights were on the man he was going to shoot. However, the man upon seeing the gun just jumped over the side and took off. They called the police who then took 29 minutes to show up. Her father gathers everyone in the house. Told them to lock themselves in the room, gave them guns and then went to stand guard while awaiting the cops. This man was not deterred till he saw a gun. Even if they could of called the cops first it would have taken them 29 minutes to respond. What would this man have done? Luckily we will never know because my girlfriends father used a gun, without even once pulling the trigger, to fend off a intruder who clearly wasn't right in the head. Now the anti gun nut jobs want to tell me that having a gun won't stop crime? I tell you that I can protect my life how I want and if my girlfriend's family had been rapped and killed because we banned guns, you'd be the ones supporting evil. Not me.
First off the police are not there to protect you they enforce the law. You fail to mention if he lived in an rural area. Second why would you think a person walking is a cat? Cats don't make noise. The lady is an idiot. Why would she think a hooded figure is one of her daughters? And lastly if there are intruders why do you go to separate rooms with guns? Strength in numbers? Your girlfriends parents are knuckleheads.
Folks are always gonna be against carrying guns, especially in your home.but trust me you will never feel that way again when your home is broken into with my sleeping wife and three month old baby was upstairs, by four men.the only reason they were OK was because my neighbor reacted with his gun before they got upstairs. So now me and Wifey carry 24/7.
It's actually totally pathetic that had to happen to you before you woke up, it would be impossible for me to have a baby or just a wife and not be armed
I believe if you carry, you should carry all the time every time, if you're uncomfortable carrying a gun in your own house, how could you possibly fool yourself into being comfortable carrying anywhere?
Holy shit dude, where do you live that you think you need to shower with your fucking gun? Fuck dude, I'm pro second amendment, but that's just being way too paranoid.
+ryan day When did this guy say anything about actually showering with his gun? Why would anyone seriously say that? Also did you not notice that his comment is a year old?
I always make sure that I have a gun in the same room that I am in. I find it refreshing that he does too, and that some one actually made a video about this.
I concur with you 100%. I never have a handgun less than an arm's reach away when at home, including if I'm "sitting on the throne" or taking a shower. When I'm active around the house doing chores, it is on my person and ready for implementation. I also practice with this pistol constantly, so I'm using muscle reflex when I draw and aim it. The piece I carry most is just a .380 ACP "mouse gun", but it will still hurt if I put a round up someone's nose, or in their "junk box".As an old Marine, it is second nature for me to be "armed" and prepared. Good video!
I've never really thought this was ridiculous, but then I spent a few years living in bad neighborhoods where I had been there less than a week and the guy next door got shot because some gangbangers couldn't read the numbers on the houses and kicked in the wrong door. That's where I started doing this kind of thing. When you spend time living in bad neighborhoods you just think and do things differently. One of my best friends and a long-term roommate of mine and I used to have guns stashed everywhere around the house. I mean everywhere. No matter where you went in the house you were never more than a couple steps away from a loaded gun that was hidden. That's the sort of behavior you engage in when you've gotten so used to the gunfire outside at night you barely notice it. When you get out of the bad neighborhoods you still do this kind of thing because having lived in the bad neighborhoods you realize that most of the shootings of innocent people are mistakes related to gangs or drug dealing, but they're not very often simple robbery because people in the ghetto don't have anything to steal. You go to the nicer neighborhoods to steal shit. I mean how many times do you think guys in ski masks kick in the door to a section 8 house screaming at the single mom and her kids to put all the money and jewelry in the bag? She's working two jobs to buy diapers, she doesn't have a wad of $100 bills and diamonds lying around.
Thank you for sharing your experiences, I need to keep remembering to carry because burglars don’t rob low income houses, they go where they know there’s going to be valuables.
I do the same thing, If my gun isn't on my hip it's kept within arms reach at all times and we have a shotgun in the bedroom. We live in a rough area and the dopers and thugs are slowly taking things over again and as slow as the police respond you need to be able to deal with whatever comes your way on your own
***** My neighborhood ebbs and flows. We live not too far from some very bad areas. Crime travels to where the "good stuff" is. Early last year, 5 homes were invaded by force, and with weapons within a one mile radius of where we live, in a two month period. One of those was directly next door. The owner was unarmed and jumped through a window to escape. This was all happening in the middle of the day. Ever since then, my wife and I carry our pistols with us, in our home. Definitely no Utopia here.
Carrying at home, as I do, accomplishes two things: it enables you to protect yourself and your family at a moments notice and is also the best way of knowing that your firearm is secure.
I agree Colion, I too home carry not because I like to and get a big kick out of it. But because I have two children and pregnant wife I am protecting. Your right this is a different world we live in. your either predator or prey, wolf or the sheep. and i'll be dammed if someone ever harms a hair on my family.
on a serious note at home is when you are the most relaxed, you let your guard down and zone out so to me it only makes sense to carry in my house. and personally I feel naked without my sig or colr on my hip and a knife in my pocket BUT sadly I lost all of my firearms and ammunition in a boating accident ;)
Brigadier Chooch of the West German chooch legion me too! well what happened with me was, it wasn't a boating accident per se, but i was trying to shoot fish with some friends and a strong east wind knocked us all into the water! don't have enough money to aquire such a fine collection so i just carry airsoft guns and hope the bad guys will think it's real. :) i R smaht
With so many boating accidents of late I fear we will have no good fishing spots left! I feel your pain, as I too lost my one and only gun to the sea.....
If you live in a house (instead of apartment), I recommend reinforcing your doors. It would take anyone or group of people at least several minutes to make it into my house which buys me time to Rambo up. I have a SHTF vest with loaded magazines, backup pistol and knife attached. Grab the vest and weapon de jour and it’s go time. Cut the lights, go thermal and call the clean up crew (911).
I carry a 1911 when I'm at home. Long guns aren't very useful when you have narrow hallways. If I cannot dispatch a threat with my handgun I can quickly get to a shotgun.
That's how I started, then I thought exactly the same way Colion said "What if there's a break in and the perp is between me and my gun? Yeah, I'm not going to let that happen, carry everywhere".
1) you go into the gunfight with the gun you have on you. 2) carrying isn't a natural feeling and there are a lot of carry positions that are anything but comfortable (appendix carry for me. I ride a motorcycle). You have to train it into your lifestyle and activities so it doesn't look like you are carrying a block of steel and plastic on you in an unnatural position
I have been carrying at home lately too. As you said, watch the news. I feel my neighborhood is pretty safe since we are pretty rural, but you never know, and the one time that you really need it is not the one time I want to be without it. I will protect my wife and myself even if people say its crazy.
My lady asks me why I have a gun on my hip all the time in the house. I take the trash out and check the mail while carrying. But I’m also the crazy guy that has special shirts to cover my vest when I’m at the grocery store so she may have a point
I got my first handgun because of a peaceful home invasion by a drunk looking for a beer, could've just as easily been a violent drunk, I also started leaving my front door locked even when home. People used to leave their houses unlocked, sometimes even when not home. Are people paranoid for locking their houses? Will I ever have a violent break in? Probably not. But the fact that it happens makes it not paranoia, it's smart. Just like locking your door is smart.
Myk63 We started locking the doors while at home, after our unarmed neighbor had to jump through a window to escape three armed robbers in the middle of the day.
1st grade thru 5th grade I was a latch key kid along with my little brother. Both parents worked till 5 pm. But we didn’t have keys. House and cars all left unlocked back in 1970 thru 1975 this was. No one locked anything back then. Now I set my alarm even when I’m home and doors are locked., blinds closed. That alarm goes off anytime.... likely someone getting shot.
There were days (and yes, I do remember them) when I'd just leave my car keys in the ignition so I wouldn't forget where I left them...OR...leave my house unlocked with the windows up because I knew my neighbors were home and everything would be fine. Yep - the good old days in the old United States. We have a new world that requires new methods.
My gun is on me all day. Whether that be at home or out in public, why does it matter? I put on in the morning, take it off at night. EDC is really that simple. I do not want to be burdened, and don't have the time to put it on and take it off all day long. Good vid MrCR.
Either you all don't have kids or mine are freaking ninjas. I am on high alert unless mine's locked up. Sweet kids but they get into EVERYTHING, and I've taught them gun handling basics as a result. My 11 year old is a great pistol shot but his interest in guns makes me more alert.
I hate how my mom thinks I'm paranoid cuz I shower with my 380 and carry it even in the backyard and front yard while with my pitbull! I'm not scared of the world or paranoid that someone's gonna randomly hit my house! but it's always better safe than sorry! that's America is about! feeling safe while concealing a firearm! it's our 2nd amendment
Great video brother. My wife and I carry daily and at home. It's like our daily gear. Like putting my wallet in my pocket. U get used to it fast. I feel it's our obligation to protect our family at all costs. Our neighbors are all retired and they daily carry as well. Home invasions are no joke. My brother and his father lived thru one last year. Both of his dogs where shot. His dad was knocked out and he was put in a corner until they took what they wanted. Home carry is a must. Unless you have armed security 24/7!
It's so simple, it's almost stupid; better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. What's the point of having a gun if it's never in a suitable place to provide service, should the need arise? When I go to take a ride on the porcelain express, I take my G17 with me and set it beside me on the bathroom counter. Every time. If a time ever comes when need it, I want it right where I can reach it.
Amir Harris Lol I wouldn't go as far as taking it into the shower where it can be exposed to moisture...let's just say the Intruder will be seeing a naked guy run into the other room.
I take my gun in the bathroom and is in arms reach while I am in the shower. I also leave the door open to let out moisture. I can admit I have gotten paranoid a few times thinking that I hear something in the house while home alone.
I also feel really vulnerable while in the shower especially, when I'm home alone and I have no way of knowing if someone is breaking in. The sound of the water also creates a matrixing sound that can make you think you are hearing something. Does not help I live in a high crime/drug ridden area and once came home to my front door kicked in that was dead bolted shut.
Gun loaded strapped on my hip while I am sitting in my home watching your video lol!! Funny thing, a stranger was banging on my front door yesterday. No clue who it was and never made it to the door on time. Turned on the news this morning getting ready for work, and they happen to be airing a story about a home invasion caught on tape a few towns over from me yesterday. Not saying the two are in any way related, but you can never be too safe.
Carrying at home is great practice for carrying in public. you can get a feel for your current weapon sitting, bending, standing and walking around with it. Plus it's there for piece of mind. I'm rarely more than 5 ft from a gun at home.
Gun on the back of the couch 18" from my dominant hand while I'm watching this video. I'm either carrying or have it within arm's length at home. And at least one is stashed for good measure. Glad I'm not the only one!
I remember back when I was in college, we were discussing the 2nd Amendment and my criminal justice professor told the class that she carries her gun in every room that she walks into at home. I remember thinking to myself...that’s a little much. But then I later found out that she lives alone in a rural area of the county. And then it made sense. But honestly, even living within city limits is now enough reason to have a gun within arm’s length at home. ⚠️
Not only the topics discussed but, if you are home carrying, it better "perfects" yourpractice of concealment - exposing mistakes & weak concealments in the "safety" of your home.
No such thing as a safe neighbourhood. I always carry at home (as well as everywhere I can legally do so) and there are pistols at the ready at my retreat point. Also at retreat point is immediate access to rifles, shotguns and sufficient ammunition to stop a home invasion. We are each responsible for our own personal safety.
A gun being in arms reach should always be the case, but who said it had to be the same gun in every room? The question of what I'll do if someone breaks into my home at night has already been answered, the real question is then, what caliber will be used against them? That simply depends on which room I'm in when it happens.
The suppressed AR Pistol loaded with 30 lehigh defense controlled chaos .300 BLK rounds should hopefully do the trick. Thats if their dumb enough to break into my home at night while im in the bed room.
John Dominy _ that's why I would never break in someone's home ... which caliber is a scary thought. Hate to have a big dangerous game weapon pointing at me. Night night bro
damn you said it perfectly I wish I didn't have to carry in my house but I always do have a firearm within reach at all times it's just the world we live in
A dad, who happened to be a deputy sheriff, attended a PTA meeting wearing his side arm. A concerned mom asked him, "Officer, I noticed you are carrying your pistol with you. Are you expecting trouble?" The officer replied, "No, ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I'd have brought a rifle."
I’ll back this guy until the END ! YOU Answer every question that pops in my head and it means a lot thank you 🙏 for all you do for the firearm community!
I probably used to think people that kept their arms close most of time were a little paranoid, but yes as I read the news or even statistics living in rural areas doesn't seem as safe as it used to be. Considering some home invasions are happening in the suburbs, and when the Black Panthers are making threatening statements about going to the suburbs and rural areas to cause violence against people. I know they didn't do it, but the only reason is that they probably realized rural households have more arms. But as the statement goes "Better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it." So now a days I see people who keep their arms close as just being more prepared.
it's amazing to me how ignorant people are now a days.( why do you have guns, they kill people? they are dangerous just call the police that's their job. you are also stupidly paranoid for carrying a gun in your house.) all yall anti gunners need to realize my family and my life are the most important thing to me. safety and preparedness is not paranoia. ignorance is not bliss, it's an opportunity to become a victim. myself, and im sure other carriers will agree waiting for the cops isn't an option. you cant tell a robber/killer to wait a minute so the cops can get here. you may not value your life, but i value mine so i'm gonna do whatever it takes to ensure the safety of my family. it is ALWAYS better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
+Steven Watts That's a big reason Liberal's/trolls will NEVER understand. It's NOT the guns that kills people, it's the bad/crazy people that harm others. Peace.
+ Colin Noir My house Got broken into and pretty much robbed everything in my house. Thank goodness no one was home at the time but ever since that day I bought a Springfield Armory XD-9 to protect my family, myself and my property.
I live in a small home and keep 4 firearms in strategic locations. I carry a pocket .380 so l can at least fight my way less than 15 feet to a larger firearm in case of emergency. Most of the time a combat firearm is within a few steps. It is NOT paranoia it is preparedness.
Is it necessary for me to carry(or have at arms length) my gun in the house? No, it isn't. But neither is it necessary for me to have multiple vehicles, a motorcycle, and a bicycle that costs more than some peoples cars. It's good to know that I'm not the only "gun nut" who does this. I feel I'm in good company.
I'm a Archer and if i have to defend my home so be it., If you feel comfortable by carrying a Gun all through you're house that is what you have to do.
I home carry all the time my wife loves it. She feels beyond safe. Also I have been formally trained in firearm safety as well. And my father was a military man so gun safety was taught very young.
If your gun is comfortable enough to carry everywhere outside the house then it is comfortable enough to carry in the house. It almost becomes an inconvenience to disarm yourself, cause then you have to open the safe... I find it easier just to leave it where it is and where I know it's save, in my possession.
Lol, I figure 30 + 1 in 7.62 will be more than enough... Kind of suspect that the bad guys will be dead and or gone having expended 31 rounds 😉 if I survive long enough to do that
Not paranoid or anything... However I have a 12 gauge ,AR15 in our master bedroom closet, my wife has a 38 special next to her bed, I sleep with a Glock 22 under my pillow, also have a Glock with a 33 round clip in our bathroom cabinet, machete under the couch cushions in living room, tactical knife in the kitchen wall cabinet where you get cups from! FYI... I won't get robbed again! Atlanta g.a baby.
Y'know, it's funny.... When I get up in the morning, the first thing I do is pick up my cigarettes, my cell phone, and my gun. Then I trundle off to the kitchen to get coffee. The gun stays with me the rest of the day. ( So do the other two... or at least the gun and the cigs. ;-) ) Maybe I'm odd, but that's just how it is. Oh, and you really don't wanna screw around with me before I've had that first cup o' coffee... It'll be bad. Very bad. Even without the gun. Seriously. Bad.
Hey didn't the Confederate States of America get their asses kicked? Why do you fly the flag of a loser and defeated slave union of states? Are you one of those guys who thinks the South will "rise" again?
John Slade Maybe you need to read up on the U.S. civil war. Yeah, the south lost, but it was anything but an "ass kicking". It took 4 years and cutting off supplies with naval blockades for the Union to get the job done. Oh, and concerning slavery... who do you think was selling the south all those slaves? Anyway, the war wasn't so much about slavery as it was the Union controlling the states. Lincoln himself said that if he could end the war without freeing the first slave, he would. ( It's in a letter he wrote. Look it up. ) As for the flag you mention, it has a name : The Tennessee Cross. Take a wild assed guess as to where I live. And there's no need in the South "rising again". We might have lost a war but we never fell. We're all still right here, doing fine.
Jamie41963 Usually the neo-confederate racists always make the WRONG claims about the Civil War in America. First of all yes it took a while for the North to kick CSA's ass. But make no mistake, it was an ass kicking. You know it's an ass kicking when Gen. Robert E, Lee surrendered to General Grant and his Union Army. In a war you win by kicking the other guy's ass, there is no in between in war, you either kick ass or get your ass kicked, The CSA got their asses kicked. Also when the President of the CSA runs and becomes a fugitive and is captured by enemy forces is also a clue for the terminally stupid that the CSA got it's ass kicked. Oh and yes the Civil War was started and fought with slavery being the main reason for the secession and war. All anyone has to do is read the letters each state governor wrote about why they seceded. They all seceded because they feared Lincoln wanted to abolish slavery. That was the main reason, slavery, they wanted to keep their free labor force that made the south rich. I always have to explain this to idiots who fly the stars and bars. Yes so you are flying the flag of a loser and it's clear you were a loser when getting your education about the American Civil War. Racist jackasses will never again get to enslave people. You are not better than any other race, accept it, get over it.
John Slade It takes a special kind of stupid... or a special kind of bigot.... to equate someone disagreeing with your perception or interpretation of history as being a racist or a "neo-confederate". Especially when that person has not voiced and opinion on racism or slavery at all, only what history shows.
I’ve always used this explanation for my home carry justification. Stand at your front door, and count how long it takes you to walk from there, to wherever you spend the most time in your house. Then after you have that number, see how long it takes for you to move from where you spend the most time in your house, to get to your gun and get it ready if you were to keep it in its storage area. It’s generally a pretty convincing argument.
I always carry at home cause I’m in Kalifornia and as of now it’s the only place I can carry. I’ve got like 4 months before my sheriff interview for my ccw.
Better reason, it's your house. You can do whatever you damn well please. There is no need to justify what you choose to do in your own home. Now with that out of the way the only reason you would need to carry in your house is if you are in a high crime area. Otherwise keeping a gun by the nightstand usually works fine, most home invazions happen at night.
I live in Charlotte nc and its necessary for my girlfriend and I to Carry in the house. I don't trust people walking Dow the road pushing carts filled with cans. I have more to lose than they do. And yes my home had been broken into 2 times. Both when my gf and I were home. Luckily my dog ran em away.
I like what you have to say about how you wish you didn't need to carry at home (or maybe at all). I love my gun, I have fun with it, I am always safe with it, and it's almost always on me. I got it for protection, however, I hope I never have to point it at another human being. That being said, I also refuse to be a victim if it can be prevented.
I appreciate the way you approached this question, many would just go to the "I'm always packing" remark or something simple that honestly just makes non-gun people think they are crazy. Personally, I would just simply give the logical explanation of you never know what could happen or when, so be prepared and hope to God it won't ever be necessary. But, you took a different approach, admitting that it's ridiculous, but because of that fact that it has actually become a logical decision. What kind of world is our society creating? My own parents remember the days of never locking the front door because it wasn't necessary...
We discussed this on a gun forum I am a member of not long ago, 2 local news stories a couple of months ago in the Middle Tennessee area, this womans psycho brother killer her at her home, shot and maimed her husband. He had to go to his truck to get his handgun, shot the brother and killed him. There's a very good chance if he had his gun on his side his wife would still be alive. Also, a man in his home was attacked and badly beaten by druggie home invaders, he had to go to his bedroom to get his handgun, shot and injured one of the thugs and they left. Very good chance he wouldn't have been beaten if he had his gun on his side. My naive liberal friend says, it's HIGHLY UNLIKELY that I will be a home invasion victim and he's right about that but i've learned in my lifetime not to trust my life to HIGHLY UNLIKELY. It was HIGHLY UNLIKELY that my brothers home wasn't going to be burglarized but it happened a month ago, luckely he wasn't home. In Nashville there's a robbery, assualt, home invasion every night on the news so it happens, and not always in the bad neighborhoods.
+ShootinArn Good! I don't have a carry permit in my communist state yet but its in the works...however I choose to home carry to get used to the feel, plenty of time at home to know what a gun feels like when its on my hip for X amount of hours a day and you can learn to get used to the feel so you actually carry. I've always been known to come prepared with whatever is needed and that's partially because I get used to whatever it is I need to bring by just having it all the time.
That's good, that makes you a safer person when it comes to gun handling. I know people who buy a handgun, shoot a box or two of ammo through it at a range and toss it in a nightstand drawer and never pick it up again. They think they are experts in shooting, gun handling and safety but it's comparable to some one who gets a drivers licence and drives once or twice a month. Even carrying your gun at home, placing it in and removing it from your holster every day makes safety natural to you, you don't have to think about it all the time and you are a lot less likely to forget gun safety. And it's smart to be prepared at home.
ShootinArn great suggestions I’m a new conceal carrier, went out and bought aP226 Mk25,a S&W 9 shield a380 bodyguard. The P226 is my home defense, the S&W is my everyday carry, the 380 I carry on me in my house 🏡.l live on 7 acres so I guess I’m well prepared.thanks for the videos.stay safe god bless America.Im also a former Marine. So I’m ready for the bad guys..
I carry everywhere and usually have a 1911 loaded with Hornady Critical Defense rounds within an arms length in addition to my carry pistol, which is also loaded with Hornady Critical Defense rounds.
I'm not paranoid. I keep a gun with me all the time, because I've made a habit of it. I don't constantly think, "Oh no what if someone breaks in I better have my gun ready". It's just habit. That's the difference in preparedness and paranoia
My thinking evolved from having an unloaded gun in the closet to having a loaded gun on or near me at home. One day the thought occurred to me, how bad would I feel IF someone did come into my home with ill intentions and I had a means to protect myself and family but it was unloaded in the closet. That was before I was a full blown gun nut. :) It's also why I always wear a seat belt. Something in my mind says what if today is the day you get rear ended at a stop light. click...
I once went into the bathroom at Walmart to take a shit. Well i hung my 1911 up on the coat hanger on the inside of the stall. So whenever i went to wipe my ass i was out of toilet paper and had to poop walk to the next stall to finish wiping my ass. When i was done, i flushed and accidentally walked off without the gun. I still havent seen that gun again to this day...
Right on Sir ! Several guns hidden around house for quick and easy access. Loaded, chambered and ready.... extra mags in each location. A few quality flashlights on chargers as well. All family members trained and shooting practiced often and home invasion drills ran each month..... because this is our world today.
Dan Connaughty Water proof containers can be Velcro taped to the tile. Look in the outdoor and camping supply department at your local sporting goods store. Or in Wal-Mart. Velcro is cheap. The containers should have a gasket and a sturdy, hinged lid. You should be able to get both for under $20. Place the firearm in the container before you turn on the shower. Lather rinse and repeat as needed. lol
kevinallupinit And rubberize the grips on the handgun so if you need to rock and roll with wet hands you are good lol. For people in free states where you don't need permits or long waiting periods you could easily go to a LGS and find a beat to hell Glock 17 or Glock 19 with like the grip chewed up by the dog (yes I have actually seen that lol) and give it a new purpose in life.
Dan Connaughty Man I think about the same thing, I don’t want the water fog from the shower to get into the gun but I guess that isn’t that big of an issue.
Ive considered doing this, but unfortunately, im always horrified by the thought that the frequent exposure of the ammunition to moisture will ruin the rounds at a faster rate and maybe even do harm to the gun itself. Any thoughts on this?
Sir Lancealot yea I can imagine what you mean, my shower gets the walls wet lol....but the only solution would be a gasket sealed box made of a polymer in which seals out moisture when you close the door to it...
+Sir Lancealot Since you'll not be in the bathroom that long, just place a good quality hand towel over your gun. No need to worry about the moisture if you do regular maintenance.
Although people with kids need to think of safety... Keep the chamber empty and the gun out of reach! I can rack a round and flip the safety off in half a second while I am taking aim...."SAFETY SAFTEY SAFETY!!!"
Good lucky racking a round when one arm is occupied, injured or your hands are just really sweaty or bloody. Keep your trigger guard covered and your finger out and away from the trigger and you'll have no problems.
True, and agreed. But "With Kiddos" you need to think of them. An empty gun is statistically better than no gun...think about the safety of young kids "First"
We amy differ a bit...But all and all i'm with you. I appreciate what you are doing and what you stand for. Keep up on ur efforts of making us and the country smart and strong. Thanks Buddy!
I work as a firefighter in south Florida. Once you respond to a homeowner/victim of a home invasion, treat the wounds from the beating he took trying to protect his wife/daughter from two punks that literally kicked the door in and attacked him, then on top of that all the property that was stolen/destroyed, well, home carry seems like a pretty good idea. And yes, this was a new house in an upscale neighborhood. Stay safe everyone and thank you Colion for your work here. Top notch.
My girlfriend asked me why I carry a gun in the house. I said, “government spying”. She laughed, the Amazon echo laughed, I shot the Amazon echo. It was a good time.
I do the same, like you I carry around the house and have all my life. My dad did and he taught me to. Better to be safe than a statistic. Thank you for your advocacy
went down stairs for icecream. my friend came down to find a half gallon of icecream and my 45 on the counter. I didn't have pockets so yeah... I'd rather have my gun and not need it then need it and wishing I had it.
You should look up the definition of "paranoid" and then research how many people in "good" neighborhoods get their doors kicked in every day. Something is a bit off in your thought process.
lol...i know what paranoid means. I mean owning a gun is one thing. Having it on you at all times while you are home is a little much. Why not just get better locks, a dog...or even move if you are in that type of immediate danger. If you own multiple guns, why not have them around the house, and go to it when you need it. Having it on you at ALL times, to me, is paranoid. I'm dont mean to offend, but i've never met anyone this "prepared". personally i think all black ppl should be protected...so really i'm not hating
rotiman I know a man who while a teenager a man broke into his moms house in the middle of the night. He woke up to his mom screaming at this guy but despite her knowing he is robbing the place and their dog standing in the doorway growling at him he didn't give a shit at all and just kept loading stuff up. It wasn't until he came down the stairs with his long rifle in hand and loudly loaded a round (bolt action) that the man ran out of the house. The point he had is he trusts himself for his own defense and you should to. You should not put your life in the hands of mechanical devices such as locks or even a dog. Carrying a gun while at home or not is not much different than putting your seatbelt on while getting into a car. Your not afraid that anything is going to happen but your prepared just in case something does.
hey everyone, rotiman is a genius.. all we have to do is move away and let the criminals know we dont care to stand up for ourselves and let the problem fester. but be careful as to not let them know were all of us lawful citizens move to. dont want to go moving again now do we?
I understand your point of view, but at the same time there are other safety precautions that can be taken to make it more difficult to break in to your home. Security systems, stronger doors and locks, guard dogs and so on will discourage and make harder for someone to break in which buys you time to get to a gun you may have in a quick access safe. You could also store different guns strategically in different places around your house that will make access to them quicker no matter were your at if a break in occurs.
It is so funny that I came across this video. I get up, grab my Vape, Gun and then my phone and almost neither of them leave my reach all day. I live in a pretty decent area of my city, but I don't chance anything. My girl and I both think it's stupid to have this mentality, but my mum always said " it's better to be safe, than sorry ". Keep up the good work Noir and Carry on guys.
how things are going its a necessity I live 75yards from the rio grand here in south Texas belive me there is a constant treat here with little or no law enforcement presence so yes sir you are absolutely right thank you for pointing out something no one wants to admit or talk about
Well, you know what they say. "100% of home invasions happen in the home."
xD
LOL well you can't argue with that.
I don't believe you, where is the evidence, I DEMAND YOU BE IMPEACHED......sorry got off topic there for a second.
SimplePhil similar facts include 83% of accidents involving steps are on or around 1 or more step
Lmao
My wife asked me why I carry my 1911 at home and I said "in case of Decepticons."
She laughed, I laughed, the toaster laughed, I shot the toaster.
Lol!
Well played. :)
LOL
I've heard that one before lol
Nice! ... wait, who gave you the toaster?
I carry everywhere...literally everywhere I go. It's not paranoia, it's preparedness. If my pants are on, so is my weapon. If my pants aren't on...it's within reach and you're going to look stupid getting taken down by a naked guy.
Lmfao that's me brother! Haha 🙌🏻
+andrew coleman Plus you look like a badass to your neighbors when you're standing over the dying guy on your porch wearing nothing but a condom.
😂😂😂 pure awesomeness
Uncle Sam Coleman I dont have gun yet but I sure do take my sharp ass knife everywhere I go lmao
Uncle Sam Coleman
I do the exact same thing.
Lol
True story.
+JustAGuy Had an old live-in girl friend who wouldn't have sex on my side of the bed because of the guns under my pillow and mattress....she was afraid she might get shot in the booty ! lol
Don't feel like the 'Lone Ranger!'
noeezyfluff Ha. Nobody wants to be caught like that. Nobooty!
*Sighs* glad I'm not the only one that carries a gun to the bathroom. lol.
Gotta protect myself. Especially at my most vulnerable moment! LOL
Yeah I don’t want to get caught with my pants down either…pun intended!
Yeah, I always just tell my wife I need my 1911 because of toilet snakes!
lol. and I thought I was a unique case :). I got one on me and backups on each floor of my home. Hey, one's great..more, even better!
mckuletzz I thought about that strategy, but my concern is that someone could break in and find one of the other guns that are stashed.
Exactly
Cops are NOT protection! (Supreme Court even RULED that!) Cops come and write up the AFTER-action report. Why do you not know this?
And WHAT would he write anything down for? Your description? "Yeah, so, um, black male, medium height, medium build, wearing a hoodie" -- yeah THAT will narrow it down!
We need better law enforcement across the country.
Just experienced my second home invasion last week. Big dogs released prevented each group of invaders from reaching us.
I recognize the fact that if I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.
I'll always carry inside my house.
Yeah, my dog will protect me and I will protect my dog too.
Best friend a girl could ever have.
@@MZ-rv1bu Amen to that
Glad things worked out for you Meesh. Stay safe all.
damn where u live at
Home carry isn't crazy.
Not me.
I keep thinking of Robin Hood
Sotik Kitos Amen.
Sotik Kitos I home carry and every where I go.
Sotik Kitos bravo my brotha
Folks are always gonna be against carrying guns, especially in your home.but trust me you will never feel that way again when your home is broken into with my sleeping wife and three month old baby was upstairs, by four men.the only reason they were OK was because my neighbor reacted with his gun before they got upstairs. So now me and Wifey carry 24/7.
It's actually totally pathetic that had to happen to you before you woke up, it would be impossible for me to have a baby or just a wife and not be armed
Mickey Drago It’s actually totally pathetic how you beat a dead horse on a point it’s already learned.
Damn bro, your neighbor deserves the "Best Neighbor" award!
Talk about a lifesaver! I'd love to hear that story from the neighbors perspective.
Here we are ,8 years later. And I still 100% agree with you. Love what you do !!!
I feel it's more likely to be needed in the home than on the street. (the gun)
I believe if you carry, you should carry all the time every time, if you're uncomfortable carrying a gun in your own house, how could you possibly fool yourself into being comfortable carrying anywhere?
It is a really a good idea for safety too because then you can make sure kids or anyone else won't get there hands on it.
Cre Mist Really weird, I meant to respond to someone saying they'd stay taking their gun into the shower with them, not this particular comment. Oops.
bosshoss69lee get cameras. I got tired of having a 44 magnum pointed at everyone's head that knocked on my door.
Where you live?

In da /l/ i g a zone
on a serious note at home is when you are the most relaxed, you let your guard down and zone out so to me it only makes sense to carry in my house. and personally I feel naked without my sig or colr on my hip and a knife in my pocket
BUT
sadly I lost all of my firearms and ammunition in a boating accident ;)
Brigadier Chooch of the West German chooch legion me too! well what happened with me was, it wasn't a boating accident per se, but i was trying to shoot fish with some friends and a strong east wind knocked us all into the water! don't have enough money to aquire such a fine collection so i just carry airsoft guns and hope the bad guys will think it's real. :) i R smaht
Brigadier Chooch of the West German chooch legion I feel so bad for I hope I buy more
they make more guns at the gun store yah know
Damn, you too?! Lot of that going around.
With so many boating accidents of late I fear we will have no good fishing spots left! I feel your pain, as I too lost my one and only gun to the sea.....
I carry a gun every waking moment. When I'm asleep my gun is in a holster that's bolted to my bed frame.
Tyler MacDonald, my Old Man rigged up a system where the alarm would dump a pitcher of water on his head. Takes a little engineering, though.
@Tyler MacDonald Yea its called a Cane Corso, or similar. Down sides are feeding costs and cleaning up people sized shits.
I always have a gun within arms reach in my house.
Excuse me Mr Home Invader, let me go get my gun from the safe. I watch tv with a AR.
I carry a 1911 when I'm at home. Long guns aren't very useful when you have narrow hallways. If I cannot dispatch a threat with my handgun I can quickly get to a shotgun.
lmao I found this funny, I'm not insulting you it really made me lol.
Me and my ar love all the same shows haha. Serious though its better to have a gun handy just incase
Mine makes fun of the reloading edit issues on tv ..... But she's never wrong...🔫😍
I carry a gun at home to get used to carry.
Ive been for years. After the law takes everybody guns away thats when the criminal at large will come out to play! But not here.
I always keep one nearby, if not on me!
Just a good idea, helps you stay comfortable with it!
Exactly where else would you be more cautious with your weapon? A child can not get your weapon. If your weapon is on you.
I cannot understand leaving the door to your house unlocked.
Whatisright And that's sad (assuming you mean when you're home) but it's the reality we live in now.
Myk63 I do mean even when you're home.
BRAVO Colion!!!!!! Absolutely spot on Sir!
Who else stumbled on this gem a decade later? Colion has come a long way in his production.
My gun is on me all day. Whether that be at home or out in public, why does it matter? I put on in the morning, take it off at night. EDC is really that simple. I do not want to be burdened, and don't have the time to put it on and take it off all day long. Good vid MrCR.
I carry in the house. Most break ins happen while you’re home.
Well statistically, most happen in empty homes, but 100% of the ones that will concern you do happen when you’re home.
this channel is great. I APPROVE THIS MESSAGE!!!!
Here here
All in favor say I.
I.
And the I's have it, it is a great channel.
The only reason I clicked on this vid is because I'm carrying a gun at home right now.
I love your style. Clean, honest, common sense. Awesome. Thank-you sir.
I agree. You should carry or have it within arms reach in our homes.
Also your kids cant shot themselves with your gun if you HAVE your gun.
snipervictim Lol! Exactly! That's why I keep it in my person at all times!
Children can't get to your gun if it's on you.
Either you all don't have kids or mine are freaking ninjas. I am on high alert unless mine's locked up. Sweet kids but they get into EVERYTHING, and I've taught them gun handling basics as a result. My 11 year old is a great pistol shot but his interest in guns makes me more alert.
Keep your shit in a case or on you shouldnt be a problem
@@-Homelander. not even a case, an actual gun safe.
You are so on point good sir. Keep up the good work and keep preaching your common sense!
Ten years later this is still 💯.
My thoughts, exactly!
*Smirks* "First Time?"
: All of Texas
It's so simple, it's almost stupid; better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
What's the point of having a gun if it's never in a suitable place to provide service, should the need arise?
When I go to take a ride on the porcelain express, I take my G17 with me and set it beside me on the bathroom counter. Every time. If a time ever comes when need it, I want it right where I can reach it.
Damn right I carry a gun into my shower! Lol! Great points
Amir Harris I thought I was bad for always keeping a combat knife in the shower.
I think I need to upgrade.
Lol you aren't the only one!
Glad to know I'm not the only one. If I'm home, my Smith and Wesson M&P is right next to me wherever I am in the house
How did 37 people accidentally hit thumbsdown on this? Americans getting fat fingered.
Jimmy Dean digits, aka sausage fingers.
ikr and how did 18 people including me misclick the like button on your comment!
jeez wut clumsy people in this world today xD
thats freakin hilarious!!!!
Not only the topics discussed but, if you are home carrying, it better "perfects"
yourpractice of concealment - exposing mistakes & weak concealments in the "safety" of your home.
They better hope I'm not near the SCAR 17s, I hear these ballistic silver-tips are REALLY nasty at close distances......
I carry at home (everywhere) except the VA just cause I'm able legally physically and mentally
Just as I've heard this before: I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6
Amen to that
+Steven Watts That's a big reason Liberal's/trolls will NEVER understand. It's NOT the guns that kills people, it's the bad/crazy people that harm others. Peace.
+ Colin Noir
My house Got broken into and pretty much robbed everything in my house.
You will never know when will shit happen. And the bad people will never give you a notice that they are going to rob you tonight.
I find it easier just to leave it where it is and where I know it's save, in my possession.
lots of time I walk around the house with my rifle and 4 loaded mags, nothing wrong with that it just mean I like my toys
same here. I simply enjoy it. Same reason I mow my yard, not because I'm paranoid of high grass, but because I like it that way.
Lol, I figure 30 + 1 in 7.62 will be more than enough... Kind of suspect that the bad guys will be dead and or gone having expended 31 rounds 😉 if I survive long enough to do that
Thank you for the mental image of some dude aiming his AR at a perp whilst sitting on his riding mower.
Magazines not clips....I was beaten to the punch.
Y'know, it's funny.... When I get up in the morning, the first thing I do is pick up my cigarettes, my cell phone, and my gun. Then I trundle off to the kitchen to get coffee. The gun stays with me the rest of the day. ( So do the other two... or at least the gun and the cigs. ;-) )
Maybe I'm odd, but that's just how it is.
Oh, and you really don't wanna screw around with me before I've had that first cup o' coffee... It'll be bad. Very bad. Even without the gun.
Seriously.
Bad.
Wow. I do the same thing. Life is good.
Hey didn't the Confederate States of America get their asses kicked? Why do you fly the flag of a loser and defeated slave union of states? Are you one of those guys who thinks the South will "rise" again?
John Slade
Maybe you need to read up on the U.S.
Look it up. )
As for the flag you mention, it has a name : The Tennessee Cross.
John Slade
It takes a special kind of stupid... or a special kind of bigot.... to equate someone disagreeing with your perception or interpretation of history as being a racist or a "neo-confederate".
That’s crazy, I’m going to test this hypothesis!
Otherwise keeping a gun by the nightstand usually works fine, most home invazions happen at night.
thegooddoctor2009 criminals try to rob empty houses, the majority happen during the day when the family is at work/school
Legend has it he’s still waiting ......😏
I live in Charlotte nc and its necessary for my girlfriend and I to Carry in the house. I don't trust people walking Dow the road pushing carts filled with cans. I have more to lose than they do. And yes my home had been broken into 2 times. Both when my gf and I were home. Luckily my dog ran em away.
I'm in SC
Robbie Mulkey I hear you loud and clear I live in Fayetteville bro
+fook yu I hear ya bro! I live minutes north of you!
Most important is in the bathroom do not want to be running to get the gun with your pants around your ankles and one that was not quite pinched
Even more so if you are naked in the shower. Like have one strapped to the side of the tub behind the curtain or something like that.
Gundemon1 NAH your fucked in the shower people like you take baths anyway.
Also this isn't the same America that the movies depict
In Nashville there's a robbery, assualt, home invasion every night on the news so it happens, and not always in the bad neighborhoods.
nateo200 That's why i'm wearing a Glock at this computer.
It's also why I always wear a seat belt. Something in my mind says what if today is the day you get rear ended at a stop light. click...
Even an unloaded gun is better than none it will deter most
I am in my bedroom with my gun in a holster on my waist.
***** what do you do with your firearm when you're in the shower? i don't always have mine in the bathroom when i shower but i think i'll start
Dan Connaughty
Don’t fret that Glock is made of plastic And a bit of stainless steel so rust should not be a concern go ahead and get it wet
Dan Connaughty Man I think about the same thing, I don’t want the water fog from the shower to get into the gun but I guess that isn’t that big of an issue.
Arco Cola not if you regularly clean and lubricate your firearm. I find myself cleaning mine every 2-3 days
best places to especially have a gun is in the bathroom while showering because you can't hear much while the water is running and by the bed side
CallMe Rant that sounds like a good idea.
I love your reasoning, and your channel. Please never stop!
Too late i seen the toaster decpticon one
I laughed at your comment, don't shoot!
haha
Still waiting..... LOL
oh come on dude. having to carry the gun with you from room to room OBVIOUSLY means you should go by more lol
I'm going on a few months doing this...I'm glad I'm not alone on this !..Great video
I'd rather have my gun and not need it then need it and wishing I had it.
this dude is paranoid. but i guess it all depends on your neighbourhood.
Your not afraid that anything is going to happen but your prepared just in case something does.
this is one of the most underhanded racist comments i have read. lol.
very sneaky.
hey everyone, rotiman is a genius.. all we have to do is move away and let the criminals know we dont care to stand up for ourselves and let the problem fester. but be careful as to not let them know were all of us lawful citizens move to. dont want to go moving again now do we?
I understand your point of view, but at the same time there are other safety precautions that can be taken to make it more difficult to break in to your home. Security systems, stronger doors and locks, guard dogs and so on will discourage and make harder for someone to break in which buys you time to get to a gun you may have in a quick access safe.
You could also store different guns strategically in different places around your house that will make access to them quicker no matter were your at if a break in occurs.
Point taken and now implemented. Thanks.
