I remember thoroughly enjoying banana splits reruns on boomerang. I thought it was a batshit insane show as a kid and would get so excited to catch it late at night when I wasn't supposed to. I think this show did them justice here, even as antagonists.

It's sad that the Banana Splits are always going to refered back to that one horror movie made about them being killer animatronics just so Warner Bros could at least recycle Scott's early draft of his FNAF movie he was making with them originally. Okay, real talk, this scene is why I think the Banana Splits' characterization in Jellystone! works. Fleegle says they used to be cool, and it's true; back in the day, The Banana Splits were quite popular. Nowadays, however, they're quite obscure. Maybe I'm giving the writers too much credit here, but making the Banana Splits a bunch of petty thugs is basically their way of acting out against everyone for forgetting about them and not being cool anymore. It gives them some depth... which, again, given how this show has gone about characterization so far, I doubt was intentional, but it ends up working regardless. Even though there's no real continuity between episodes, I kind of hope they continue this idea of the Banana Splits being formerly "cool" and beloved but have fallen from grace.
It's what makes their big scene near the end hurt so much. Also they kinda made them more sympathetic, albeit unintentionally, in the end when the rest of the Hillbilly Bears come in to beat them senseless over a review. A REVIEW!!
I agree tbh, I’m hoping that in future episodes there will be more character development for the Splits than just a gang of thugs I feel the Splits acting out cause of the loss of fame is a pretty interesting idea for them, cause it makes sense especially due to how they were portrayed in the 2019 movie It makes me feel bad for them and is a reason why they’re my favorites in Jellystone

I can happily say that I watch the Slpits when they were the coolest of all, when I was sad or angry, they showed it on TV and they always made me laugh out loud, when I think about it I get sentimental, they were my childhood

I never watched Jellystone before, but I think it's a pretty good show and I do feel sorry for the Banana Splits since they're original voice actors passed away a long time ago, so replacement actors had to suffice and it's way better than just removing the characters from the original series and the 2008 revival anyway. The original series and the 2008 revival were good times and the awesome good old days as well.

The reason why the Banana Splits act that way is because everyone viewed them as monsters after the 2019 film (yes, including Snorky), so the Splits decided to act like their 2019 counterparts (excluding the killings) to show the people what "real" monsters are like.
I think the reason people see Snorky just as monstrous as his bandmates is because even though we never see him successfully murder anyone onscreen, he will try and do it, as we see him try to run over one of the characters in a car. What probably helps is that most of the offscreen kills don't have any indication of who done them. The only one we see is when one of them had drumsticks rammed into their eyes, which most likely belong to Bingo, the drummer of the Splits.
The Banana Splits will always be awesome, and we’ll instantly forget about that movie from a few years ago. That nearly tarnished the image of these guys.

I know most Cartoons don't have continuity or canonical timeline and just are standalone episodes such as SpongeBob, Chowder, Arthur and now Jellystone (unless if it's one with an ongoing story for continuity sake like Gravity Falls, Amphibia, The Owl House, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Kids Next Door, or especially Star Wars: The Clone Wars) but their always have been some instances where certain Cartoon episodes lead to continuity errors or inconsistencies which can be annoying. This is why I think "VIP Baby You Know Me" should've taken place after "El Kabong's Kabong is Gone" because in the former segment Shag Rugg mentioned the word "Cool" which causes the Banana Splits to remember their time when they were the coolest and redeemed themselves at the end of the episode. Even it goes further when both Snorky and Fleegle were seen as part of the Cheering crowd of Spectators in "Jelly Wrestle Rumble!".

I like how the implication here is that they had their show in this world too but when it got canceled (likely because nobody thought they were cool anymore) they turned to a life of crime
It's an interesting plot progression, giving them an in universe show and stripping it from them when they fell out of style, making them has-beens and criminals. They hold longing for their old life secretly, and they got their chance. Assumingly, this is where their crime life ceases, and they're back to being cool again.

I know most Cartoons don't have continuity or canonical timeline and just are standalone episodes such as SpongeBob, Chowder, Arthur and now Jellystone (unless if it's one with an ongoing story for continuity sake like Gravity Falls, Amphibia, The Owl House, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Kids Next Door, or especially Star Wars: The Clone Wars) but their always have been some instances where certain Cartoon episodes lead to continuity errors or inconsistencies which can be annoying.
This is why I think "VIP Baby You Know Me" should've taken place after "El Kabong's Kabong is Gone" because in the former segment Shag Rugg mentioned the word "Cool" which causes the Banana Splits to remember their time when they were the coolest and redeemed themselves at the end of the episode. Even it goes further when both Snorky and Fleegle were seen as part of the Cheering crowd of Spectators in "Jelly Wrestle Rumble!".
Honesty them being gangsters will always be 100 times better than them being FNAF wannabes

Seems like ever since the Banana Splits horror movie, the gang are now being portrayed as more antagonistic characters than they used to be. Idk how to feel bout that,
I mean, least they're painted in a more human and understanding light in this show. And they're more of a nuisance than a flat out threat.

Hell Kick Ass showed more respect using the metal cover of the theme song when Hitgirl murdered a bunch of mobsters than that movie did.

for being a fan of the movie for some reason i didnt love this but overall did enjoy it overall for jellystone bringing them back im happy about that the show is 9.5 out of 10 wish you could actually see the show on other places than just HBO max

I like how the implication here is that they had their show in this world too but when it got canceled (likely because nobody thought they were cool anymore) they turned to a life of crime
It's an interesting plot progression, giving them an in universe show and stripping it from them when they fell out of style, making them has-beens and criminals. They hold longing for their old life secretly, and they got their chance. Assumingly, this is where their crime life ceases, and they're back to being cool again.
