Amazing work! I have a coach bifold wallet and loved it, but recently I've gotten an Exentri wallet, and have really enjoyed the quick access card slots! I am not the biggest fan of how it doesn't leave cash totally flat, but the coach wallet, though an absolutely gorgeous leather, was just a little too bulky for me! Keep up the great work, though! I love this channel!

I wanted to slim down. I had been carrying Harley Davidson wallets for years. Good leather last a long time. Then I went with a Dango knock off to test and see if I could go minimalist. I decided to order the Grip 6 Wallet with leather sleeve. Grey with brown sleeve. I don't see myself going back to a traditional wallet.

Love my pularys hobby wallet. It may look small but once the leather is stretched you can fit a suprisingly large amount of cash in it, plus the leather smells amazing. BTW i bought a willowcraft wallet because of this channel. Keep up the good work man.
I'd like to try a cash wrap with a coin pouch, need space for about 6 cards max. Any options for this? I just want to put cash in and fold close, I don't want to waste time folding cash. With the great reset happening I'm avoiding cards as much as possible.
I think Mark would agree…I love my Franklin wallet by Lost Dutchman. It’s basically a slimmed down version of the big Finn. It is a cash wrap style (meaning just put your bills in and fold the flap down with the cash). Has a center pouch which fits 6 cards easily and the pouch area can hold coins or any other loose items perfectly. Check it out, sounds like what you’re looking for. I’m with you on using cash as much as possible in this crazy world!
I guess you could use the side-back pocket in the Pularys as a quick slot and that's quite good. Like how simple and slim it is. I might order one of these if the price drops since its $25 + $8 US shipping for me.
Hi! What would you say is the highest quality leather that you have seen on a wallet, and which do you think looks and smells the best, but that isn't too bulky? I like bifolds, but I like having the card slots that steck on top of one another, not just putting cards all in one place where you have to fish out what card you want each time! I also would like to have a regular billfold pocket! I was thinking the Jonny the Fox, but I was wondering if you had any recommendations for a not bulky but also gorgeous leather bifold! Highest quality leather would be full grain veg tanned Shell Cordovan, my preference is Horween. You can split the leather so it's not as "think", the proper term is "weight". Mitchell Leather demonstrates this well with their LWCW wallet where the split is thinner, providing a less thick experience while gaining all the best out of the leather. I've not seen another like that in a regular vertical or horizontal bifold wallet in Shell Cordovan yet, but I'm sure it's out there.

Does Benjamin Bott not use the same leathers anymore? I was trying to get the same wallet but noticed the colors seemed off then read different leathers than you stated in the video.
Mark, I've noticed that you've had several videos where you mention that you met the creator. Have you ever thought of doing a "how it's made" on some of these wallets. Especially from some of these smaller niche leather crafters?
I own two different Dango wallets, and the Big Fin, needles to say I don't enjoy any of them. Love the Willow Craft, and I am surprised it didn't make it on this list.
Will it last a lifetime? Some of these full grain veg tan leather ones will if shown a little care. It's tough to say the same for a lot of synthetic materials though there are exceptions. I'm going to check it out!
Grip6 releases a new wallet. Any chance a review of that is coming? Also, what about Code 118 Stealth Wallet? Seems like an Ekster knockoff for much less.

Which wallet was your most complemented aesthetically of all time? And, when you unraveled the Lejiled origami wallet in 2021, were you able to put it back together lol? Thank you !
Thanks for joining us! First, the Lejiled, yes I was able to put it back together, but there is a small, tricky junction to deal with. The design to achieve what was needed there was epic. By way of aesthetics, anything made in Shell Cordovan is the first criteria. From there, I like simplicity with elegance. I like high-gloss burnishing, combination of leather colors, etc. Personally, I would lean toward the LesbianEDC or Benjamin Bott wallets. The overall fit and finish on Stephanie's work is incredible and Ben's work demonstrates panache.
What is the best wallet for metal cards? I have four metal cards I use and carry daily, and I use an esker carbon fiber which I love the design, but on their website, it says don’t use the metal card. It does feel heavy when I push on the button and they seem less secure in the wallet too.
Yes, I've not found a pop-up wallet that works really well with metal cards and with a little jiggle they'll fall out. Any leather wallet will do or a metal one like the AKEENI XSTO or Dango rail versions that "lock" the cards in place.
@@walletopia would Ekster work with metal cards? I can not find any one mention it. I really like the design of it, but ekster website said you shouldn’t use metal card.
Ive fallen into a rabbithole of wallet reviews and videos in general on search for a replacement for my wallet and so far i’ve come up with nothing. It seems everyone wants minimalism, slimness, all that jazz. I want the exact opposite. Not sure, maybe someone in the comments can help me out, point me in the right direction. I would just find the brand that made my wallet, but thats proven to be difficult, it was a “promotional” wallet for Omnitel (now Telia), so maybe the brand is European. I’ll have a reply to this thats just a link to imigur, showing my wallet and what I am looking for exactly. Preferably with the same exact features.
So random question/observation...how legit are leather wallets on Etsy? I was looking on there and noticed some suspicious coincidences... 1. A lot of the wallets looked exactly the same 2. They used very similar verbiage in the item descriptions 3. A lot of the same broken English in the descriptions 4. At least 6-7 of the shops I've looked at claim to be in a suburb of Houston, TX (where I live) 5. Too many 5 star reviews
A lot of stores on Etsy are just big manufacturers nowadays. The best way to find a great maker on Etsy is to find a shop that doesn’t have the signals you mention, then reach out to them about custom orders and see if they can accommodate. If they reply, that’s good, and if they’re willing to discuss what you’re looking for you’re in good shape. Another giveaway of it not being a true maker is the build of the wallet. It it looks to use very thin cuts of leather, folded edges that are sewn, etc, keep scrolling.
could you review the hardgraft bifold wallet? dont really hear about the brand anywhere but i decided to bite the bullet in paying for this overpriced thing and would love your opinion of it
I don't review them as they're more vanity purchases and I've seen the quality, it's not the best. So I spend my money finding great makers who deserve some exposure.
This was a breakout year for me, wallet wise. I have been carrying the Mitchell money clip wallet for around 3 years and still love it. But I tried a bunch this year and these are the ones I have enjoyed as much as the Mitchell.. Lost Dutchman Big Finn - This one is really cool and a great all rounder. Not as good with cash as the Mitchell, but in some ways better with cards.. Craft and Lore Insider - Close to a perfect form factor and you really can carry quite a lot of cards and decent amount of cash for the small size. Trayvax Ascent - such a cool wallet. Too bad the cash carrying is really just for emergencies as there is only room for 2 or 3 bills folded into quarters. nonetheless, if I never carried cash except for a spare bill, this might be my go to wallet just for the cool factor.

Great idea which I tried a couple years ago. The trial ballon video did not do well so I've not pursued it since.
I’m shocked trayvax or perhaps ridge didn’t make any cuts. That’s been a standard EDC favorite for years.
They were on the list, but didn't garner enough votes to make it into the top 10.
We need video for how to store the wallets. I’m a collector and I have 10s of them.

Anything using Horween leather is actually better than a new car smell. For me, there's nothing better.
