Just ordered mine. I live in the PNW, and that front section looks perfect for a rain or light-weight insulated jacket. Love keeping those separate from the main compartment.
I’m all over this. After a lot of travel I’ve found that if I need more than 26L of stuff, I’d rather just bring a second bag and a smaller backpack. 26L is that perfect size for heavy edc while also being as large as I personally want to go for one-bag backpack travel for short trips. Throw in Able Carry’s style, comfort, and weather resistance, and this was one I was excited to pick up. The lack of front pocket organization doesn’t bother me - that side pocket seems fine for a wallet/phone/keys, and I’m more about pouches these days for other bits and bobs. The front pocket will be perfect for an Evergoods CAP1, or even for dirty laundry on the way back from a weekend trip.
Thanks for the review, George! Definitely seems like Able Carry saw their target demographic for this bag as people who carry gym clothes to work/school. That front duffel area would probably serve that group well. I could see the shallow zippered pocket inside being for jewelry you take off while working out, or for deodorant and shower gel, etc.
Just discovered your channel when I was searching for a review on this bag, you definitely convinced me to buy this with your review so thanks man! Also as a former DC resident it's fun to see some shots of you walking around the city. Now I'll just watch the rest of your bag reviews for fun since I'm no longer in the market, but I love your vibe man keep it up
I was so hyped for this pack. When I think of EDC I think of lots of organization. An admin section in that front pocket would if sold me. Even if it was extra like AON.
Thanks for the review. In my opinion the original 30L is better. I wish they would even make a bigger version like 34l or 40l. This version just doesn't make any sense for bigger guys and the extra 4L is a big plus.
The Daily Plus back panel is amazingly comfortable. I also don't get why they didn't do the water bottle pocket the same as in the Daily Plus. This one will fit the 32oz Nalgene that you showed, but won't fit or will struggle with more "regular" 16-24oz bottles, that are usually made narrower, but taller.
I would describe this bag as an "airport" bag - It complements a carry on for a larger trip and you can get all the stuff you need for a long flight - tech, book, notebooks, a change of clothes, a hoodie, foldable backpack and for that front pocket a pair of sandals/comfortable shoes . I think is more for the traveler edc rather than the city edc
Very good review, George! I like it and already have the Max but I wish they made the EDC more a 24 liter-ish since the the 26 liters are too close to the 30. Love that their bags have some height to them since I'm a big guy and most of those edc packs tend to look like a larger sling on me... 😂
It’s interesting you said if you are looking for a smaller pack to stick with the daily plus. Based on the website dimensions isn’t this only half an inch taller and half an inch wider than the daily plus?
If Able Carry gave me the front side pocket organization of the Daily Carry Plus and the Aquaguard zipper like the Max has for the laptop compartment I would buy it. In fact, I prefer the Aquaguard throughout the exterior of the bag. But, as it is I'm going to pass. And as far as their critique regarding the Aquaguard zippers, my experience has been great with those YKK zippers. Almost all my bags have them and I have yet to have a single Aquaguard zipper fail, and some of my bags are over ten years old that have the Aquaguard zippers.
if you live in a city, you will definitely go to the bathroom with your backpack. I have a large backpack with me that only with a handle that looks like the main handle in this Max EDC and it's UNABLE to hang on the toilet door handle. it drops right on the floor, HARD. it's really bad if you put your computer in your backpack without extra padding. so that toilet loop is a really nice touch to me.
My go-to reviewer! Lol. Question brotha, I have a NF Surge I just bought last week, but I saw the Max EDC and now I'm second guessing it lol. When it comes to the surge vs the Max EDC or the daily plus, which one would you suggest?? I'm not carrying anything crazy or too much edc carrying, just daily commute!
I hated that 😭 was expecting the front pocket with having the same organization like in daily plus and with limited fabric like x50 / x51 or with introducing vx42(for all color way). A bit disappointed though seeing the price of this new MAX edc almost the same to the original MAX
I have a backpack with similar organization and ended up using front pocket as “dump” because the other pockets are enough, so depends on the use case, but I don’t see it as a deal breaker

That and a tablet +documents section with the laptop area would have sold me. Thus, I will stick with my original Max.

Just ordered mine! I love my daily plus a lot I just prefer a clamshell bag so I’m excited to test this one out!

Hi ! from France !
I discover your channel today, wow I love your review 👍🏻 I hope I make my order in few days 😍

Awesome Intro George!

Looks like it may be worth a try!
First like and first comment...George sick content!!
If you have to pick one between max edc and ctb 26, which will it be and why?

Review the Helikontex Ratel Mk2.. i heard its good.. they say its 25L but Helikontex has confirmed it can go up to 32.5L..
George, you got a link for the rain coat?
have you been having issues with the straps tabs at the bottom digging into your back that some on reddit have been mentioning?

You have really hit all the major negatives of this backpack compared to the Max, which I too prefer.
Can’t beat the A19er pathfinder to me.
My go-to reviewer! Lol.

Eg ctb26 ftw. Aon evade 1.0x nice too
Hello Georges,
I’m following all your videos that I love, please add the information in metric as well, it would be so useful.
haha nice the vid is back 😅
Do you think you'd be able to fit this under most airplane seats? Can't tell if it compresses at all when empty/packed?
Yes, I think it will fit. No compression but still looks good under packed.
I put my Able Carry Max 30L under the seat no problem.
@@johnp.6045same here
Are you still keeping the 30L?
Not sure
Able Carry dropped the ball with no organization slots in the front zip pocket....

im fine with it, more excuses to use my many tech pouches 😂😂😂
@@PotatoSpudRucking yep maybe i should hold back for alittle while 😂 my regular xpac daily still holding up good. Overall still a good bag though !

@@OndaPilotothink I changed my mind😅 LOL ! Waiting for my local stockist to bring them in to avoid hitting by tax n duty
Questionable decision by able carry to call it Max EDC when the OG Max has better edc organization in the front pocket.
