What’s funny that as a kid scene from the show still somehow scared me or was at least eerie to me, almost as eerie as the end credit music of the show.
From a certain point of view this would still be cool lost media to find even if it's not a full episode. It's a never before seen animation test that's demonstrating how expressive Spongebob can be.
This isn't actual "Lost media" there used to be a special episode of spongebob called "the SpongeBob lost episode" where patchy the pirate was looking for this lost episode and when he finally found it and played it, it was this the entire time So it basically was a small prank
@@Ticktheannoyingcreature I've seen the episode and know the context. I was just saying Patchy shouldn't have been so mad because I'd consider it a pretty neat find.
Not really lost media but in the original episode this scene was 7 minutes long. Most people don’t know that somehow. If you look at the episode you can see that it’s 17 ish minutes long. They cut out the original making it lost media. But I don’t think it counts as lost media.
@@isaacbluestone1462 I didn't know it was longer. That's a cool thing to learn. I was just making a point that Patchy shouldn't be disappointed because an animation test is still an awesome find.
Me and my brother used to watch this episode all the time and constantly reference it even years later. Got to see Tom Kenny in person a couple weeks ago. We decided to bring our VHS copy of the episode we've had since we were kids and have him sign it, even going to a little extra trouble of printing a special label so it looked like the "Lost Episode" tape that Patchy finds in the chest. I even went dressed as the miner that gives him the tape. Of course, the first thing he said when he saw the label was "I bet it's just a bunch of cheap walk cycles, right?"

I honestly think this walking cycle was better than the actual lost episode. The town's folk make fun of him, try to kill him, and he owes THEM favors.
the silence of the whole thing, no sound effects, just the somewhat repetitive and off-putting background music on top of very still and unusual footage is what made me scared of the tape as a kid
Damn i remember watching this as a kid with my siblings it was very funny and the walk cycle was reeallyy long And remembered we even tried the Goofy walk but ended up hurting our limb😂
i bet this was an animation test for season 2 (since season 1 episodes were animated by hand-drawing and not by computer) and instead of deleting it, they decided to put it in this episode
I'm actually surprised this came out before the Squidward creepypasta and the whole creepypasta boom or else, this would've been considered a response to the internet
This NO JOKE gave me an existential crisis the night I first seen it. I was laying in bed that night staring at the ceiling thinking stuff along the lines of "I have literally seen the FUNNIEST thing i will ever see in my entire life at only 6 years old, what will the rest of my life be like?? Ive already peaked. 100 more years of never truly laughing again?? Is life really this cruel??"
sadly i wasnt alive when this originally aired so i dont know the advertising around it but just the episode itself is a darn masterpiece of a joke all this build up for something as simple as this.
It used to be disturbing for me when I was younger and I first saw this. The long played music, with nothing else but him walking doing the most out of place facial expressions, in an animation style that was a little unnerving, and one that we never saw before. I remember it feeling way longer than it was, and for me wishing for it to stop. I wasn’t really “scared” of it to say, I sat and watched it all. I just felt uncomfortable as I did so.

My friends and I had a party when this episode aired, and when this came on, we laughed until we almost died.

The animators were having fun here.
This is the best episode in spongebob ever
I swear that when i was younger, i saw the same repetitive thing but with Squidward. He has walking like for ten minutes. It was something surreal
He had just a different view angle, as i can remember. You could see him right in front of you, not from that side as this sponge bob episode
Idk why but as a kid this actually scared me, it just felt WEIRD to me
Me walking to the court room knowing I’m guilty of all charges
