PBG never deserved this loss. Anish was by far the best captain (Accepting Alireza won more games), in terms of his play as well as he managed to keep his team lively. Nodirbek was the best player of his team, seemed like he lost the last game only under pressure. Nihal contributed a lot too, Alina was undoubtedly brilliant. Its a matter of destiny. I hope the same team continues to play next year, can't wait to see them win the trophy
They had a great team. Alireza was winning against everyone and Anish won two against him so he actually did fine. The 1st board was strong in all teams so I mean one isn't expecting all winning results against Magnus, Hikaru, Alireza. Even the others not named are extremely good and the weakest on board 1 was Vishy due to the age factor and that alone shows how tough it was.

Teimour is being too cocky & rude to Nihal who is already hurting due to the loss.. as if he played better than him(player of the league).. very well knowing he is the quiet type introverted person. He should learn from his icon Alireza who remained humble.
Nodirbek seems most shook & not once he smiled.. Anish was talking as if he's gonna cry any moment, which is very understandable.. i feel bad for Peanut Butter & Giri Alaskan Knights who lost cause Nihal was neutralized in both games.

This has to be the least followed chess event in recent chess history.
You must be new to GCL.. this has got all the best players in the world playing including almost everyone in the list of top 10 chess players in the world with total prize money of $1 million.. this format is not for your average chess lovers.. it's built for one main reason which is to reach the general population.. & chess snobs like you are not the target audience.. this was live streamed on TV unlike other chess leagues.. though currently only in India but as the league gets more popularity in India(of 1.4 billion people) it will pave a way for an even bigger audience & prize pool & Anand Mahindra who wants to make it the IPL or NBA for chess.. could engage with even more hefty broadcasters for streaming rights which could open the doors towards this being the biggest league for players in the world. Team India has already won the Chess Olympiad for both Men & Women & if Gukesh wins World Championship in Nov-Dec.. the viewing from India will be manyfold next season.

what are you talking about?? Anish won 3 lost 3 and drew 6. He even won against Alireza in the finals when the team needed him the most. Unfortunately Alaskan couldn't deliver in the final.
Anish was no way a liability for Alaskan knights.
Anish was solid for the most part & they reached top of the board with 24 points.. so he was still doing much better than Vishy whose team was at the bottom.. & in the finals even Nodirbek lost one game, Alina lost, Tan Zhongie lost, Shaq lost & Nihal was neutralized so Anish loosing one game & winning other that too facing Alireza is acceptable.. cause they all were outplayed not just Anish.
