"Ah, Perry the Platypus-thing. How unforseen-unexpected."
"And by unforseen-unexpected, of course I mean-say COMPLETELY FORSEEN-EXPECTED!!!"
Skaven warlock engineers would totally put '-inator' at the end of their inventions' names.
"YOU FOOL! CLAN SKYRE SCIENCE IS THE BEST SCIENCE, YES-YES" -arch warlock of clan skyre
The steampunk rat aesthetic is what draws me into Warhammer decade ago
I think one of my favourite bits of lore from Old World Skaven, (and which is probably true of AoS Skaven), is that part of why it seems like Skaven tech is as likely to explode as to function, is that Skryre typically sells lemons. They sell junk. Garbage built by their understudies. Proof-of-concepts built by ratty interns trying to get some warpstone-grant funding for a real project. The really good stuff, that is to say it *doesn't explode on every tenth shot*, Skryre keeps that for themselves.
You sound like Clan Mor
Anyone else need a Skaven series with an ever-changing cast of ratty skavens with only the top of their society?
Love that Skyre is basically a pun.
Lab rats.
Wonderful.
Grat video! It would be nice if you could show images of the miniature units while you talk about each unit so we can identify them easily
Fun fact: Ikkit Klaw, the original _Warhammer Fantasy_ blueprint for the Arch-Warlock made it to the Age of Sigmar!
He shows up in _Hamilcar: Champion of the gods_ under the name of Ikrit the Ur-Rat. He's spent thousand of years stealing power from all the various gods of the setting (even the Foot of Gork spell, somehow) in order to become a god himself. He's even managed to steal the secret of Reforging from Sigmar and the Six Smiths and built himself his own Anvil of Apotheosis making himself into what I can only call a Stormrat Eternal.
Is there a book or something detailing that story?
@@ReaperoftheWar Yeah, _Hamilcar: Champion of the gods_ I think it's the only AoS story he's been in and it's like seven years old. Hopefully the focus on Skaven will have him show up again.
Ah yes, another glorious installment of the "turn the Geneva convention into a checklist" guys
Almost caught you live! Its 6.14am here, the life of a bus driver!
Longtime follower of your channel, Doug. Keep up the great work!!
Sweet. Thanks Doug
Ah... my pre-work routine continues!
Yes-yes, so many ratz with warp toys-weapons!
My question is, do the Skaven admire the demon-powered warmachines and engines of the Chaos dwarves? Or do they find them, overcomplicated, expensive, and not utilizing warpstone enough? Supposedly, Chaos dwarfs, though they are fine dealing with the backstabbing nature of hobgoblins/hobgrots, will kill skaven immediately. Not even putting them into slavery, as they don't trust them on a completely other level. So I feel like there isn't a lot of 'admiration' going that way. Both are chaos, but one is much more quality, and the other quantity, so it presents an interesting parallel.
Skaven probably too ambitious, it's not if it's when betrayal happens ie breathing.
Skrit-Skrat Ratta-tat Warlock Engineer leader of rattling guns & globe mortars,
Hey Dug. Thanks for the video as always. You forgot to talk about the Warp Valt Scorgers. What do they look like and do? :)
He did. It shoots lightning. He meant “come back to the weapons” not specifically the warp volt scorcher.
