    So what’s wrong with giving the telecaster to his grandson? I can’t think of a better guitar to learn with especially a Nashville Tele

      That's what I don't understand, what better guitar to give his grandson?
      Selling it used won't yield enough money to get a better guitar 🎸

      Yeah makes no sense. It's not like the MIM Nashvilles are super valuable...definitely more than 250-300 used, but still. I think mine was 599 new back in 2003.

    I have a Mid 2000's MIK St. Blues Bluesmaster IV which is a T style with a HSS configuration and 5 way switch. Reminds me of this a little.

    I did the "Gilmore Mod" on my Nashville telecaster. That way you get the bridge+neck telecaster tone we all love. Great guitars!

    JS-A Nashville Tele is going to be my next acquisition (while we wait for the wood we talked about to get turned into an instrument in SWVA). Still want to grab lunch soon. Back in town tomorrow and Tuesday.

    Intonation adjustment: The way I think of it is: The 12th fret divides the string in half, so fret there and you get one octave up. So if it plays _sharp_ at the 12th fret, the fret-to-bridge half of the string is _shorter_ than half the entire string length. Need to lengthen it at the bridge! And vice-versa: if the 12th fret is flat, shorten the string length at the bridge.

      Small suggestion: Since you're trying to adjust the scale-length to the string-behaviour and not the attributes of the fretboard, I think it's even better to play the overtone in the 12th fret, which has to be exactly one octave above the open string.

      I agree. Two years after your comment the price of a new Fender Nashville Tele is $950 (!)

    Hi! Nice video. I wonder if you can help me. I've just bought a Nashville Tele (the newer model, with vintage noiseless pickups and locking tuners). The Noiseless pickups sound kinda "flat" to me. I compared them with a friend's 90-something American Standard Tele (same amplifier), and his "vanilla" american standard pickups sound fuller than mines. Specially the neck one, which I like most for blues/jazz. I've found I like the "50's type" tele pickups tone (being Fender '51 nocasters, or duncans Broadcasters, or lollar 52 or any other brand alike), but then what strat PU should I swap to in the middle position for it to be balanced with the other two? Which one is in the middle position in this video? Or which one would you recommend? Thanks and sorry for my English.

      Sergi! I’m with you, those are killer sounding pickups. I would just try and match the output for the strat pickup.

    When you get a nashville tele do you still get the bridge neck together option?

    • @addicted2tone349
      @addicted2tone349 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not stock.. You can add a jumper wire and a push button or a pull pit and get it though. This Tele is sweet, it's a beast! I have one and it's my favorite Tele I've ever owned.

    • @joserui7910
      @joserui7910 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! You still get the bridge and neck togheter option! ( I refer the Player Plus Nashville model )

    Hey JS! Great vid (as always) finally a video on the way about us low dollar players! BTW- what's your thoughts on putting a strap button on a vintage git? The 1950's strap attached to the headstock feels funky to me but I wanna remain true to the original design/set up? Thank you

    • @JeremySheppard
      @JeremySheppard  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tim! Thanks for the kind words.
      I don't sweat it too much to put a strap button on an old guitar. Do it well, with a pilot hole and old strap button and screw. The more you can make it look old and correct, the better.
      most guitar stores, especially ones that do repair, will have old strap buttons and screws that would make it look more correct.
      lastly, I get more worried about prolonged tension on the neck joint with the strap tied on the headstock.

    Thought you quit Reverb?

    • @JeremySheppard
      @JeremySheppard  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Need to turn and burn this one and it's below $1,000. I'm launching a site to sell directly soon. Reverb is great under $1,000 and still much better than eBay.

    I thought you weren't using Reverb anymore? That was just a few weeks ago. Sorry, I'm just a little surprised.

    • @JeremySheppard
      @JeremySheppard  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm hesitant to use the also, I'm not selling anything over $1,000 on reverb indefinitely.
      Being newly back to my hometown I'm limited on people to sell locally. Im launching a website soon where I can have my listings and not use reverb.
