the most interesting thing i'm starting to realize about deep hunting through experience is... When you don't rush to the bottom you can stay longer. Glide more, Kick Less and you demonstrate that perfectly in this video... Thanks
The more energy (effort) you use the less you can hold your breath they sit at the surface and just look down for a bit to slow there heart and relax therefore allowing the to hold there breath longer
Yeah I'm figuring that out now. I can routinely make dives to 90ft to hunt fish. An increase of 30ft to my average hunting depths. Just by allowing myself to glide the last 40ft instead of kicking.
+A.J. Harris yer getting the right weight helps and there are many different breathing techniques but the easiest is laying on the surface not moving breath in for say 4sec take 8sec to breath out basically double the time it takes you to breath in when you breath out, and do that for a good 40-80seconds then take a big breath and just glide down, this works for me and I'm only 16 and can dive 60' and stay down for a good 15 or more seconds. Before learning this I would only get to 30' and only get maybe 10sec max. So it helps to learn
That was a huge drop! Was that the 110ft deep drop? Thanks for the great video Mikhail. I spent the last two weeks in Kauai diving with Hawaiians and I am so impressed that you finished 5th in Hawaii among such talented and distinguished colleagues.
I'm comfortable hunting down to 80'. I've done a bounce dive to 105ft to spear a cobia off a wreck but have never tried line diving to figure out how deep I can actually go. my dive cycles on my watch are set at 1'15" I'm using medium stiffness fiberglass fins do you think i should move to a soft blade for deep hunting. Also do you think I should increase my blade length from 85cm to 100cm..?
Cool video.. Great diving, great catch and amazing visibility/view :) May I ask what kind of settings you use on your camera? 2,7k, 1080super? And how many fps? You include protune and/or low-light?
Hi, but isn't dangerous doing it alone? If samba occurs, is there somebody on the surface ready to take you out? Nice blue sea! Cheers from Mahahual CostaMaya, Mexico
its nice to see that the carbon fins made by our Greek friend tasos have made their way round the globe and landed in Hawaii . I wish you all safe diving
+Norbert Schmidt Just dive in the middle of the water. Then you got zero floating, try to swim easy and relax so far as you can. Hold your breath so long as you can.
Holy crap, that dive at 5:28 is DEEEEEP! It took him 52 seconds to get to the bottom for a two minute dive. That's freaking deep. I've never timed it, but I think I can get down 50 feet in maybe 20 seconds.
Thanks for comments. Yes, but my Mediterranean experience is not much. I have been in Turkey, Greece, Croacia. But anyway Mediterranean is the sea of my dream!
+Mikhail Kuznetsov ......My Bad... i watched it again...the way it it was held by snorkel keeper through me .....thanks for the clarification .....nice video

Yeah I'm doing 1.5mins on bottom at 60 and about a minute at 90ft
I recover for at least double my bottom time. 2 on the bottom 4 on top.
Very relaxing descent, I felt very comfortable watching it.. The music was nicely suited as well.
I like your video it gives a little taste of everything. the more spearfishing videos I watch the more passion I feel to learn it. Great job
Tremendous ability Mikhail, I hope the rest of Hawaii is not that dull; you should come to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef you’ll have a great time!

Thanks for the great video Mikhail. I spent the last two weeks in Kauai diving with Hawaiians and I am so impressed that you finished 5th in Hawaii among such talented and distinguished colleagues.
Pete Spence Thank you for comment. Yes it was 110 feet first dive and 120 feet second.
Thats some serious depth! Epic diving

As for me i think that 85 cm more than enough. The softness of the blades is calculating by your body weight.
Ey, dat wuz Hanalei Adric! Dat buggah is one great diver. Get plenty great divers. Aloha!
Cool video.. Great diving, great catch and amazing visibility/view :)
May I ask what kind of settings you use on your camera?

Why do you keep your snorkel in your mouth when free diving?
+Mike Perun Jr
I never keep my snorkel in the mouth even on the shallow. It stay close to my mouth and look like in.

that's ridiculous. you have gills for lungs
English man. Learn It!
Chill. Not everyone has to speak English.
You are right i have to...
HuricaneMatt Yeah? How many languages do you know?
2 minute down time first dive. Good job. Be careful.
