*Hello you lovely lot! I hope you enjoy this rummage around the Waltham Abbey Yarn Show together :) I hope your January has treated you well and you have a lovely crochet or knitting project on the go whilst you're watching! x* *Ali xx*
Thank you for taking me, an 84year old avid knitter to a fabulous knitting show, I am not able to do this anymore but you young ones are so generous in sharing and inspiring us.❤️
looks like it was a lovely show. Your WAWS vlog last year was one of the first videos of yours I watched, so please to have gotten to enjoy your lovely chanel for a year now
It was so much fun to go to the yarn show with you! I take of my very elderly mum. She and the late Queen were born in the same year. Since it’s just the two of us, knitting podcast is the best company! I so enjoy seeing new patterns, yarn, techniques and all things fiber arts! Thank you for bring sunshine and joy into our day!!
Re the sweater you liked on the Riverknits stand - it is the Kitzbuhel Pullover by Nomad Stitches. As one of the yarns Becci used was Riverknits Chimera (colour changing yarn) - Becci's sweater looks more colourful / less graphic than the original version by the designer.
Greetings Enjoyed your vibes from the video filled with so much information, I know now that there is a wonderful world out there for me to see so inspired this morning. Give Thanks for your time.
What a nice video! I live in Canada, we don't have any shows like this. Actually nothing at all, just a lot of sewing ,quilt making. I do quilt, knit and am going to crochet. Thank you again.
What a lovely wool show I’m so jealous we don’t get any here in Guernsey, maybe one year 8 will book and come over to see a couple. Thank you for sharing your fun finds with us. Stay safe love and hugs xx
I just love these wool show vlogs you create! My country doesn't have many events like this, especially ones that are this yarncentric so going along with you is a real treat! Glad you had a lovely time!
It was my first year at WAWS. I went with my husband and the thought of not adding to my stash. But he is a great enabler when it comes to sock yarn. Luckily a lot of colours he liked were in unsuitable yarns. I did see you at the Cait in beag stall but you looked very busy so didn't speak. Also was a bit in awe at seeing you in real life lol! Just realised how much I missed by watching your video even though we went round several times. But as you said it was so busy and just couldn't get near a lot of stalls. I came away with a bit more for the stash plus a few bits for presents for my knitting friends.
Aw! It would have been lovely to say hello Chris! Next time hopefully :) It was so much busier than previous years, great for the vendors! I missed so many stalls though! x
Loved loved loved this. I'm English by birth and I've lived in S Australia for a very long time. I don't remember any lovely yarn shows when we still lived in UK and I haven't come across anything specifically like this in Oz. I'm getting a bit old for the walking now but I'd give it a red hot try - but I'd want to buy everything. Most of the patterns in our local shop are a bit weird, patterns that don't correspond with the yarns or the yarns come from China. Thank you. I've just subscribed. Angela X There are quilting shows and craft shows but nothing that I've seen dedicated to knitting and yarns only.
I'm going to the North East one, I'm so excited! It's the first one I'm going to be able to attend. I don't drive and have a small kid so travel is out of the question. It's still going to take me an hour to get there on public transport but I cannot wait! It's about a month after my birthday so I'm asking for yarn money 😅
Another fabulous vlog, thank you Ali! It was lovely to hear mentions of my fabulous friends Eleonora (Coastal Crochet) and Kitey! Two of my favourite yarny people 💜 and great idea for going with a budget. I love that idea!
Beautiful craft artists at this show. Lovely was the right word. I will watch again though often the shipping costs exceed the item costs over to Canada if they even ship here. But as you mentioned works for inspiration. So many colours and nice things. Thank you for sharing.
This video was so brilliant to watch! I love a yarn show and sadly I can only attend one a year so loved “attending” this one with you! Setting a strict budget is certainly a sensible idea when you practically fall in love with everything! Thank you so much Ali xx
What a lovely day out! I'd have bought that Spring Garden yarn. Droooooool. Mind you I have no idea how I'd even choose from such a variety of temptations. Thanks for showing us your day and your purchases!
Greetings from Tennessee. This visit was just grand. I would have spent so much money there. What lovely yarns and gadgets. So much to look at. Thank you for bringing me along.
Hey Ali I just wanted to say I discovered your podcasts late last year and am watching them from the very very start, honestly I have loved every episode so far, is like tuning in to your best mate!! I live in America at the moment but originally from UK and my heart is very much still there. I loved this walk around the show and have to say that when I return you have given me so many businesses I want to visit/buy from🤪 thank you for your channel!! X
Hi, Ally, I'm glad I caught your yarn show video. I had fun on your southern wool show awhile back, and this show was just as fun. How you budget yourself is something to behold lol 😆, I would definitely have to make sure my pickup truck 🛻 was full of gas ⛽️ 😂, so I could get home 🏡 😉, like you channel. GOD BLESS SEE YOU ON THE TUBE.
Fun to see everything you were able to view/film, and such a treat to see your selected purchases- well done! 😁The colorwork mitts are lovely and seem like a very reasonable price (in the US a single ball of J&S two ply costs me the equivalent of 4.60 pound sterling)
Oh, that was really lovely! Thank you for taking us along to the show. I wanted to go to a yarn show in Düsseldorf last summer but it was one of these days with temperatures in the high 30ies and I just couldn't. Maybe this year (I'll get lucky...😉)
Wonderful Ali to see all the gorgeous yarns, i enjoyed my trip with you! Well done on your considered purchases! Where can you get a needle cosy for knitting on circular needles? Do they do one? Love Suze. 🥰🧶
Brilliant!!! There are no yarn shows anywhere near where I live and I’ve only ever been to one. Congrats on staying on task with your spending goal and yet you still got several lovely goodies!! So fun!! 🧶💕🧶
I was planning on going to WAW but I was ill. Gutted I couldn’t make it. Next year! Next year! 🤞🏼 Your vlog gave me a chance to see what was on offer and I enjoyed it very much. Thanks. Sending love from down the M20, Sam from Ashford xxx
I really enjoyed your visit to the yarn show. I attended the New England Fiber Festival in November 2022. You did really well to only spend 25 pounds. I don't have that much self control when it comes to yarn.
Thanks for sharing! I've created a stash reduction poster board for my knitting yarn. I now need to create one for my spinning. I will knit, spin and not purchase this year and maybe next year too. I have so much! I only have one Wool Festival planned (Rhinebeck, NY in the United States) with my knitting friends. I have never visited that area of New York State. I am near Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Lynn here on Hubby's phone mines playing up 😏, Hi Ali , what a lovely video 😊, it doesn't seem like a year that I was watching you at the same show , when you met your friend in the car park admiring her jumper , I'd love to go to the show at the NEC in Birmingham , the quilting show in August, which I do believe includes some knitting, have you ever been ?, I've been going to go for ages , I'd like to see Kaffe Fasette and Anna Marie Horner both fabric designs , although Kaffe began with yarn , I love knitting no marsted crochet yet , but my great love is fabric , I love indian fabric especially, I'd love to go to the show , maybe this year you never know 🤔🤗🤞, Take Care Love xx 🤗
Thanks Lynn! I went to the knitting and stitching show last year at Alexandra Palace, it was good but very sewing focused, but there was lots of yarn too! 🧶
As said already, this was a lovely treat! I watched you at the last WA show and enjoyed it so much. You chose well with your purchases. I enjoyed your podcast last night to which had popped up. I wish there was a yarn show down here in Devon this time of year, they all tend to be at the end of the year. When I lived in Surrey I was spoilt for getting to shows lol. I just hope that when I go through your notes I don’t succumb to lots of goodies ! If I do I will set a budget to lol. So thank you for all your brilliant blogs I love them so much. Right then, off to the notes 🧶😱 xx
Thank you Ali, I just love your travelling yarn show videos! Mind you, I have severe yarny envy by the end! I think you did really well with your spending limit...and it really forces you to be mindful doesn't it?! Good choices to ! Be well!

that shawl look so amazing. I bought it of the website. Thank you for showing us around on this trip. Neven been to a yarn festival (we don't have that in my country)
Hi Ali , I really enjoyed seeing all the stalls run by the most talented people . Loved the burgundy yarn . Really warm and comforting colour . Thanks for sharing your day out x
This was awesome! 🧶 I’m envious and would love to go to that yarn show, even though I live just up the river from Rhinebeck. I would love to do a yarn festival tour of England.
I love yarn grazing! Same with book stores and fabric stores. My dream to go into any of those shops and just buy whatever my heart desires. You fill this part of my heart just watching 👀 you. Happy shopping and knitting later. 🤗 from Canada 🇨🇦
Only just came across your channel today, been looking for uk based knitting videos and I’m sure I’ll be binge watching yours today. Got till March till the first wool show this year for me, the Buxton wool gathering, been to a few but this will be the first one since successfully teaching myself to knit socks in December and now I’m obsessed! Can’t wait now after watching your video!
I’m a quilter but watch lots of other craft related videos. I saw you admire the panda fabric triangle bag on a stand. The fabric is by Tula Pink. An American fabric designer. If you like her pandas then you’ll enjoy her other fabrics.

Can't believe it has been a whole year already since the last one! Where did 2022 go?! x
Wow, she has lived through the Queen’s entire reign, amazing! I’m so glad you enjoyed watching the trip to the yarn show together 🧶😘
Thank you for taking us along! Who would you say were your top five favorite yarn dyers at this show?
Re the sweater you liked on the Riverknits stand - it is the Kitzbuhel Pullover by Nomad Stitches. As one of the yarns Becci used was Riverknits Chimera (colour changing yarn) - Becci's sweater looks more colourful / less graphic than the original version by the designer.
Aha! Yes! THANK YOU! What an amazing transformation just by using the colour change yarn, it was so effective! x
Oooohhhh...my got! Great!👍🌈

You’re welcome 😊
thanks ...add " excellent virtual yarn-tour guide " to the c.v. :)

New viewer. First yarn show I've seen in UK. I like the products u showed more than I've seen in US yarn shows. (Traitor 😊). Thanks for sharing.
Love the ceramics! Those mugs and yarn bowls are beautiful
Thank you!! Loved every moment !! ❤ Greetings from Ohio USA!! 🥰
Thanks Sheila! x

So nice to see around a yarn show especially on a budget! I’ve never been to a yarn show and it looks like a great day out!
Wonderful 🕊
Ali. Have you checked out Louise Crowther’s Knitted Animal Friends? A fun fun book of adorable knitted animals and their wardrobes!!
I can’t make the like button work! I hope you will visit EAYF, will buy you a cup of tea if you come along. Looks like a fab day was had at WAWS
Well that’s a very tempting offer! 🫖 🧶 😘

I love this video and I love the idea of a budget. I often take cash to wool shows to help me stay on budget. It is too easy to over spend with cards.
Lovely vlog! God bless
Thank you 😊

I’d have a glass of water and a few pints of Prosecco 🤣🤣🤣
Hi, Ally, I'm glad I caught your yarn show video. I had fun on your southern wool show awhile back, and this show was just as fun. Do we even have a Yarn Show here in the US?
You bought some wonderful things
Enjoyed the wool fest! From yarn starved rural Alberta LOL. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing the yarn show!
What gorgeous yarns and products. So exciting to go to and browse.
Loved this little trip Ali xx
Oh, that was really lovely! Thank you for taking us along to the show. I wanted to go to a yarn show in Düsseldorf last summer but it was one of these days with temperatures in the high 30ies and I just couldn't. Maybe this year (I'll get lucky...😉)
Yarn and 30c+ heat is not a great combo! 😄
Wonderful Ali to see all the gorgeous yarns, i enjoyed my trip with you! Well done on your considered purchases! Where can you get a needle cosy for knitting on circular needles? Do they do one? Love Suze. 🥰🧶
I have a little triangular one for this purpose but I can’t recall where I got it from 🤔
Really loved this Ali, and it's put me in the mood for visiting a yarn show again, which I haven't done since pre COVID.
I hope you feel comfortable to do so Sue! x
Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful experience 🌹
Looks like you had a grand time! I too enjoy the shows for so much beyond purchasing. I might take on your challenge when I go to the next show!
Love the video. As a viewer from the states, it is fun seeing all the yarn dyers I can’t see here.
Thank you! 😊
It was so lovely to see you again. Thank you for the mention xx
So lovely to see as usual Jo! 😘
Hi i am new to your channel and love seeing all the yarn shows videos 🙂 I used to live in Scotland and loved buying Jamieson and Smith yarn 🥰
Brilliant!!! There are no yarn shows anywhere near where I live and I’ve only ever been to one. Congrats on staying on task with your spending goal and yet you still got several lovely goodies!! So fun!! 🧶💕🧶
Temu sell great knitting zip bags
Thank you Ali for showing this yarn show again, I look forward to seeing it as it's not one I can get to.
Love Marion xxx
I was planning on going to WAW but I was ill. Gutted I couldn’t make it. Next year! Next year! 🤞🏼 Your vlog gave me a chance to see what was on offer and I enjoyed it very much. Thanks. Sending love from down the M20, Sam from Ashford xxx
Oh no! Hope you’re feeling better now, and there’s always next year! 🧶 xx
A stash reduction board sounds like SUCH a good idea! I am decluttering this year so something like this would help me! x
Thank you so much Sharon! x
Thank you Ali, I just love your travelling yarn show videos! Mind you, I have severe yarny envy by the end! I think you did really well with your spending limit...and it really forces you to be mindful doesn't it?! Good choices to ! Be well!
That was lovely 😊 thank you I feel as if I live in a yarn desert here as away from main centres and the varieties are soo limited. Well might set a yarn show goal for 2023. 🥰
I love to see a video posted by you on my feed. You really make my day and help me relax. Have a great day!
Thank you! You too!
What fun!
that shawl look so amazing.
Thank you Ali. Some very tempting yarns. Love the seraph mittens. Congratulations on sticking to your budget.
This was awesome! 🧶 I’m envious and would love to go to that yarn show, even though I live just up the river from Rhinebeck. I would love to do a yarn festival tour of England.

Wow Ali you did well with your £25 there!
I did cheat a teensy bit 🫣 But only slightly 😄
@@LittleDropsofWonderful well
I won’t tell anyone! 😂
I’m a quilter but watch lots of other craft related videos. I saw you admire the panda fabric triangle bag on a stand. The fabric is by Tula Pink. An American fabric designer. If you like her pandas then you’ll enjoy her other fabrics.
Wow thank Katherine! What a great tip, I shall look for her! 😃
Looks wonderful. I have never been to a fiber/yarn show. But I have been to tons of dulcimer festivals. I set a budget for those too. I can't spend money on another instrument. (I have too many) But...i buy accessories and books. Anyway on a budget. But one day I will get to a fiber show. I did a terrible thing. I bought a Valentine mystery sock set that came today. Full skein, mini skein, stitch marker, sucker and raspberry tea! Charlie Brown themed. I am a sucker for Valentine's.
That sounds like a very GOOD thing! Charlie Brown valentine themed yarn and tea?! Perfect!
Lovely 😊
