Michael is creating future for common good for common peoples. In true sense he is our future philosopher. But now the question is how we can create ethics and moral values for days to come AI based society. In evaluating an individual's character, we can look at both absolute truths and subjective truths that are evident in their circumstances and actions.
Absolute truths provide objective standards for judging character - does the person uphold immutable moral principles? Do they demonstrate virtues like honesty and integrity consistently? Absolute truths allow us to assess character against fixed ethical benchmarks.
Subjective truths provide contextual details - how does this person respond in difficult situations given their upbringing and life experiences? What insights do we gain from understanding their unique perspectives and motivations? Subjective truths give us deeper comprehension of the nuances that shape character within a given environment.
By gathering facts from a person's circumstances, background, and conduct, we can analyze both the absolute and subjective truths revealed through their choices and behaviors. These two vantage points work together to provide a fuller picture of someone's character. The absolute demonstrates how they align with ethical absolutes while the subjective shows how they apply values within their societal and personal context.
Knowledge and purpose are good, but also participation and taking part in politics and civil life that is what also wise people long for!!!!

One thing people should highlight and think deeper about is what Sandel pointed it out at the beginning - BBC is an institution. He personally wasn't implying at the moment in time the underlying presence of power but we must remind ourselves the power, or precisely the normative power of any institution. Sandel later distinguished between factual truth and moral/religious truth. This was a starting point of his mild challenge to the BBC's authority over truth.
Reporters today in any media (BBC included) do not simply take a naturalistic stance when reporting or seeking truth, however truth and naturalistic stance are defined. Rather, Media reports in the interest of strengthening its own agenda and connection with its audience whom it has been actively nurturing. And one wonders how echo chambers are built by institutions. It is always hard to break out of it. But the consequence is immense. In order to cement that connection media actually goes all the way to selectively film and report parts of the factual truth (or worse fabricate) so as to justify what it believes to be the moral truth. BBC or CNN is far from being innocent.
It is always a danger to assume that non-western media or illiberal media is a propaganda machine while being much more forgiving for propagation western media on the premise that the latter are 'independent' in 'liberal' states. The defense of this is to compare historical records of truth telling between liberal and illiberal media. However, how well could we quantify this in a sea of information reporting? And how do we compare without being directed by our moral putative or confined by our purview?

Get better at moral argument and persuasion to be better at political stuff. Be prepared to agree to disagree. The facts are as contested as the moral opinions, might as why argue and debate about how things ought to be.
Truth is irrefutable. Anything that can be refuted, or is unknowable is something other than truth, such as belief, opinion, aspiration etc. Morality is based on opinion, belief, aspiration etc., although it is possible for such things to be unanimous. A fact must be irrefutable and therefore a truth, but facts alone may not tell a whole story or be engaging, as the BBC person suggested. The answer to the video’s question is that truth has the same limited role it has always had and will probably always have. Politics doesn’t depend on truth… it is a field dominated by puffery, opinion, belief, aspiration etc., and politicians are overwhelmingly marketers and propagandists and advocates, rather than truth tellers. Reporters should aspire to present facts and more in a way that readers can think about a story dimensionally and draw conclusions themselves. The news service role should be that of an attentive and unbiased witness to a story instead of a lawyer who presents only one side, or a judge who manages process. Most news services today act as a lawyer for one side, and that’s not an effective role if truth is the objective. It is only a coincidence when a jury trial verdict matches the truth in a case.
