Brought back some great memories. My wife of 40 years and I drove from FL to Prudhoe Bay Alaska in 2019 pulling a small tear drop camper. Took our time - 3 months and 16k miles later we pulled into our drive way. Loved traveling through Canada, the beauty and remoteness is something to be experienced. Started each day not really knowing where we would stop or what we would see so as you may expect, we took lots of detours. The only recording we did was for a small family blog so friends could follow us. After our trip, a company printed the blog in book format that we enjoy on lazy days thumbing through. Had such a great time, we are planning another trip this year and will be on the road for four months. Looking forward to visiting Canada again and definitely going to explore more of Alaska.
That sounds like an epic adventure! We are really excited to see Alaska and get to Prudhoe Bay. We'd love to see that blog! Thank you for watching and cheers
My wife and I did Lethbridge to Whitehorse in 2021 in our 2008 Santa Fe. Almost same setup as yours but no dog. Great memories and still have the Hyundai.
Have to say, this is one of the best trips I’ve seen since my own cross Canada drive way back in 1980, leaving from Guelph. I did the trip in a Chevy Chevette. Places like Banff and Jasper were much quieter then. And the bugs in northern Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan were the worst! Keep up the good work. Happy to subscribe .
Last summer my sister and her husband drove their motor home from Moncton New Brunswick, all the way to Tuktoyaktuk and also on to Alaska. They were gone over three months. What a trip. Love your video and thanks you for sharing your trip with us. I hope to do the same trip as you someday.

OMG you guys..I feel llike again I'm going to repeat myself... this one is my fave video of yours lol... I guess I just love your style. Thank you for taking the time to create this beautiful magical video...and allowing me to escape with you. Your Dempster highway adventure reminds me of the Labrador trip I took with my sister in 1993 from Toronto ... we decided to do the maritimes via northern QC and Labrador etc... at that time the Labrador highway was as rough as the Dempster hwy. Locals couldn't believe that we were there with such a small car... two 20 some year old females. On a road where only F150 type trucks flew by. We ended up hitting a boulder and loosing control and bouncing into a ditch etc... we were lucky we were both safe but out little Honda civic (yes we camped out of ) needed to stay in Goose Bay Labrador... it was more expensive to get parts shipped then to write off the 2 year old car. Thanks guys for sharing new places I had never scene, and for taking me down a memory lane..... you are inspiring me to plan a 30 years later return to cross Canada and who knows maybe try for the arctic ocean too. ( my sis and I did cross canada in 1995) Can't wait to see your next leg of your journey. 🍖for Diesel.

We lived off grid in a Micro Minnie RV for 1.5 years with no generator only 12 volt power from the truck. The coolest part was living on fish in Northern Ontario for 3 months. Cheers!

Hi guys! Watching the trip in one long video as apposed to multiple vids spread out over a longer time completely changes the viewers perception of the trip. Half way through I'm thinking Holy Shit they've been driving forever and they've still got so far to go. Loved the different take and glad to hear the family tie ins this time round. And lets not forget the amazing geography this country has to share. Great job as always

This is one of the best road trip videos I’ve seen. Interesting stuff and the clearly some good efforts exerted to make the quality of the video engaging. Great job!
Hi, I watch first time ur video both of guys superb simple spaicaly yor way of talking its so simple easy to feel like I'm in travelling. Superb keep it up
Omg, I just stumbled across your video. St. Catharine's you say, small world. We are behind ontario street just south of the QEW. Nice drone shot of the burgoyne bridge. Subscribed.
Great video so far. Thing about the prairies, and I've driven all over and over them, is you gotta stay off the freeway and on the gravel and dirt roads. Camp in the fragrant sage brush beside the pastures and wake up to the mooing and the birds. The subtle beauty you'll find in the prairie backcountry is something most people don't get to experience on their trips across Canada. Honestly the TCH doesn't give you a realistic impression of the prairies at all. Maybe get a 4Runner - more combined interior space and off-road capability than any other stock vehicle - and don't be afraid of high mileage because they're made of pure mythril and mileage has no effect on a 4Runner, just watch out for rust that's what finally kills them. And if you want to really be able to camp anywhere you please... You might want to carry a bucket and trash bags for the morning just in case 😉 You're so right about needing to stay active on the road, I need to strictly enforce a daily exercise regimen for myself while overlanding, it's too easy to let the rig do all the work. If you want to never have another flat you can run 10ply tires but there is a fuel efficiency penalty for them.
You're absolutely right. You didn't really see any of the provinces if you only did the tiny strip of road (TCH). We'd love the chance to explore more of the prairies. I think we may just have to do that now... We'll make a video on just how great the prairies are 😁 we always keep some trash bags with us for the mornings when we can see how much trash is left behind. We have 10 plys on the van, it's bad mileage regardless 😂 but I think it'll take us to some great places soon. Cheers friend, thanks for watching ! Ps. Any particular stops you'd recommend to make next time we're travelling through Saskatchewan, Manitoba?
@@wayoftheroads yes, the Qu'Appelle valley is not far out of the way, you can follow it hundreds of km and it's awesome being down in the valley where all the nature is. Especially the part that can only be travelled in dry weather, the Fort Ellis Trail. I can't share a link but look it up there are great articles. Seriously has to be dry weather for that part though. Then there's Northern SK which deserves an expedition of its own.
@@CanadianSledDog Thank you for highlighting how beautiful the prairies are. TOTALLY agree. Back in the 90s we got off the TCH and did all of Sask. via secondary country roads... it was spectacular. Seeing that dust in the air from other moving vehicles was often the only other sign of humans near us. Despite 2 flat tires within 20 mins.. I'd repeat that trip over and over again.
Came across your Channel by chance. What a superb adventure you guys had and what amazing scenery, yes you do look very happy on the road. Very nice photography. Could you also attach maps and routes of your travels please. Subscribed.

Canada is such a beautiful country! We’re excited to explore more of it soon! If you ever come here, you’ll have to experience the Rockies for sure!
Cheers Uncle Mike! After a little more time in the editing room, It was definitely time to go through the old footage and present it a little differently. We're super happy to be able to look back at the old videos of this trip, but its hard not to cringe at old work haha. There's going to be some Ontario adventures for us to document later this year ! Thanks again for the support
Loved following your travels through Canada))
Thanks a lot! Lots more to come 😁
Loved watching every bit of full video. All the best for your next adventure!
Thanks Vijay!
Saw you in Cape Breton a few weeks ago. So hoping that you did a vlog while you were here, showing everyone our beautiful Island.
Unfortunately that wasn't us ! But we should be there later this year 😊 and of course we'll be documenting the adventure! Looking forward to exploring the east coast ❤️
I'm only about 30 min into this video but just have to say...I love your style of vlogging....beautiful scenery plus the two of you plus HILARIOUS Diesel hogging the bed, sharing your set up and meals and observations, it's just such a great balance you've found. Ok, going to watch the rest now. Thanks for sharing ☺
Thanks a ton, Wanda! We appreciate the kind words. Diesel is something else haha its his world, we're just living in it ! Thanks for watching, lots more adventures to come !
Really enjoyed your adventure - subscribed and look forward to many more...safe travels...cheers from Australia!!
Australia! Thanks for the kind words. Cheers and safe travels to you as well !
what an inspiration you both are, makes me want sell all my shit and pack up and go! I have a maverick hybrid truck that could make the trip the only thing l would do different is... Get a camper back of my truck so l can, use the bathroom and sleep with my pup.. and be safe and comfortable!
@@jojo2491 ah thanks Jo Jo, that's kind of you to say! You can always make it work with what you've got! Comfort is important though forsure. We hope to see you out there one day. Cheers.
This was so great to watch guys! So many amazing adventures over the past few years 😍 can't wait to watch this next journey unfold. See ya in the Yukon ;)
See ya there!! 🚙🚐❤️
Looking forward to Sunday !
This is one of the best road trip videos I’ve seen. Interesting stuff and the clearly some good efforts exerted to make the quality of the video engaging. Great job!

Omg, I just stumbled across your video. St. Catharine's you say, small world. We are behind ontario street just south of the QEW. Nice drone shot of the burgoyne bridge. Subscribed.
That's awesome, Phil. Small world indeed. We're looking forward to coming back to visit. Cheers and thanks for watching.

@@MrAVA700 you're very welcome, we're glad you enjoyed this one. You should ! It's a very enjoyable trip!
A great road trip.
It sure was ! Thanks for the comment ☺️
What an awesome video! ❤
Thank you for watching!🙏🏼
Came across your Channel by chance. What a superb adventure you guys had and what amazing scenery, yes you do look very happy on the road. Very nice photography. Could you also attach maps and routes of your travels please. Subscribed.
Hi there Manmohan thanks for the kind words. Email us and we'd be happy to share our general routes for our trip. Cheers 🍻
That was a great video, very well done and informative too. I have been living in a van (Vancouver island area) for 2 years now and I will be making my way towards Dawson City starting in late May. I appreciate the insiders view of what’s to come and I do hope to see you on the road. Don’t think I’ll be doing the Dempster though, I love my van way too much and haven’t paid it off yet, so thanks for the virtual visit
Who knows! Maybe you’ll make it to Dawson City and change your mind once you see it for yourself! It’s SO worth it! We definitely recommend driving to Tombstone Park to see what it’s all about! We hope to see you on the road too! :)
I Love 💕 that Dog Diesel So much funny stuff he does 😊
He's our best buddy ❤️.
Great video!! Been watching you guys for a while now and you can really see your growth in film making it’s so great to follow! Me and my partner also did the roadie from st kitts (we went to brock) and settled on Vancouver island a couple years ago. Can’t wait to see more content! Take care 🧡
Ah thanks that means a lot ❤️ Alannah and I both went to Brock as well. Small world. Where abouts on the island are you guys ? Thanks so much for watching, cheers !
@@wayoftheroads ah cool! We’ve been living in Victoria but moving to Sooke at the end of the month - hopefully move more north at some point! Maybe we’ll cross paths one day 😊
@@BONIBackRoads ah awesome Sooke is beautiful! Can't really go wrong around here, everywhere is a good choice to live 😅
Beautiful 😮😮❤❤❤
Thank you

Glad you enjoyed it, Syed !
great video! Cant believe you trusted a santa fe for the job :p
Thank-you! Gotta work with what you've got ! 😅. It had been pretty reliable for us over the years
Hi folks , new subscriber here. I'm currently living the full-time nomad off-grid lifestyle. My question is , I see you have rooftop storage . Why don't you have a small tent ⛺ ? When I first started this lifestyle decades ago I traveled and slept in a tiny Saturn, that got old quick 😂. Love your journey, thanks for allowing us to tag along 🙏♥️😊
Hey thanks for being here ! This is our old "tiny home". She has since been retired and replaced with the van we have now ! We have a solid 2P tent for our backcountry adventures tucked away in the "storage area" 😄 it gets lots of usage too! The Saturn would get old quick but gotta work with what you've got! Cheers!
What an awesome video! great editing bro.
Thanks a lot 😊. We're glad you enjoyed. Cheers
I was laughing so loud when you were playing catch with Diesel 🤣 more like bouncing the ball off his nose 😂 I just love your dog ❤️
He has his moments for sure! Still trying to get him to catch a frisbee😂
Well done
Thanks for watching!🙏🏼
Great video
Thanks Kevin !
Wait... ya'all are from Chatham too??!? Looks like a great journey you have! Hoping to do a trip myself across Canada.
St. Catharines! It’s been an adventure! We hope you do too! Cheers!
Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰 😊
❤️❤️
Diesel's footprint looks like you have a pet bear. Lol
He's definitely part bear ...lol we say that all the time. He grazes berry bushes and digs up roots just like a black bear 😅
Just shows we don’t need to pull a big caravan to start exploring
Absolutely! Work with what you've got !

Thanks Wendy !
Awesome video! May I ask how old you both are??
Thanks for watching! We’re both in our third decade!
Do you have Bear Spray?
of course!

Hi, what's the car you are driving ?
Hello! It's a Hyundai Santa Fe !
@@wayoftheroads surprising to see it did well with a DCT transmission
@@Khalid_Drogo ya never any issues with the transmission
30:18 is that… Borat???
Most likely 😁😅
I loved watching your video... May be you guys should split your videos in 3-4 parts... coz not everyone who happens to stumble upon you TH-cam channel will have 1hr:48 mins to watch it entirety... i didnt watch it completely either...
Appreciate the comment. We do have this series broken down into 12 videos (it was the first videos ever made on this channel!). And a lot of our other series are broken down into a few parts. We tried doing a full length documentary style for this one and its been doing super well! But we do understand what you're saying and hope you can finish the story throughout our episodes :). Cheers !
I could never never drink the sour toe ewwwww but good for you 👍 😄
