    Excellent review! Thanks! I am looking forward to flying them this summer to MXP as well. I was really happy that they opened this 5th freedom flight. SQ continues to be one of the best airlines in the sky. Your attention to detail is great for aviation lovers, so much information in every report. Moltes gràcies!

      Bon dia Roger!
      They are the best you can find from BCN on a short flight, so quite worth it if you have the chance.
      I can’t wait to fly SQ on something longer and enjoy it fully. Now that Singapore opened up I’m truly looking forward.
      Thanks for watching!

      @@TheLayoverAviation , you are right. SQ is the best out of here, despite Qatar, Emirates and Etihad. I have not flown them at all. But this summer I will be trying Saudia to BKK... let's see.

    • @TheLayoverAviation
      @TheLayoverAviation  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Saudia is affordable and not bad at all. It’s in the middle of a reform, completely changing the airline to modernize it in order to compete with other Middle Eastern carriers.
      Qatar, Etihad and Emirates are for me as good as SQ, each one has it’s pro’s as they are different. It all depends what you seek for!

    Really enjoyed the video. I’ve had the good fortune of travelling long haul with SQ and agree the “warmth” of the welcome/service is one if not the USP. Being a nervous flyer the thought of seat belt sign on for 95% of the journey fills me with dread. That is the other problem with Dreamliner/A350. Living in Manchester I have previously flown large wide body jets to/from London, Paris, Amsterdam. However with smaller long range jets, more flights are now direct with minimal opportunity for such short haul flights

    • @michaelmassino6344
      @michaelmassino6344 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nervous flyer? Singapore has an open bar on all of my flights with them.

    • @TheLayoverAviation
      @TheLayoverAviation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Richard, thank you for the comment.
      Sorry to hear of your dread with the seat belt sign (don’t watch my future Swiss A220 video, it’s a rollercoaster).
      It is however most of the time just switched on and forgotten, which seemed to be my case. I know quite a few pilots and it’s easy for them to get distracted with work or over a coffee and leave the sign on.
      Other airlines don’t switch it off at all for insurance purposes.
      Manchester is getting more and more long haul flights, like you said, thanks to the availability of smaller long haul jets. These are what also put a nail in the A380’s coffin, as that aircraft was hub dependent.
      I wish you many comfortable flights!

  • @dannyong4843

    Are you a pilot? You knew lots of the aviation knowledge. I enjoyed those explanation of the engine, flaps..

    Good report but like you looking forward to a long haul SQ trip report, were you a pilot at some time? as your knowledge of aircraft system's is comprehensive. Can you try and get a report done on a Lufthansa A340 before they are finally retired in 23

    • @TheLayoverAviation
      @TheLayoverAviation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definately trying to catch an A340 as soon as possible. It just never happens to fly where I need to go🤬.
      But I most definately will! Say an Edelweiss A343 yesterday in Zurich going to Havana and Cancun, that seems like a chill flight to take too!

    Hi, great video! QQ, did you check any piece of hold luggage? If so, did it take more time than usual for it to show up on the belt? I am planning to do the same flight soon, but I would not want to wait too much to collect my bag (or it to go to SIN... :D )

    • @TheLayoverAviation
      @TheLayoverAviation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Sergio, no, I did not check in any bag. But I trust it takes no time to be delivered as we were just 5 going to MXP.
      Bags are stored separately for these kind of flights, likely in the bulk cargo or in a separate container, so it’s always very organized. No way it goes to SIN, that would be a major security threat!

    Not ugly nose

  • @hsnse
    @hsnse 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    All Airbus nose designs are ugly. All of them . And all Boeing ones r super cool. Broadly, 747, 737, 777 and 787.

    • @TheLayoverAviation
      @TheLayoverAviation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The B737’s nose remains unchanged from the B707, 727 etc. It’s an outdated design and not as effective as a new one, it’s however more cost effective.
      Airbus went for the more effective nose, but yes, have to say the A380’s nose is a little off for me too!
