I do believe this is the best rating system possible because it's the most objective. Rating cards purely on their sole power level is subjective, meaning Trump could always justify his rating by saying what "could" happen and say the meta was just not right. That is not fun or interesting in any way. With this system if he gets it wrong he has no choice but to hold the L, which I do highly respect. This is an insanely tough prediction system and it is almost guaranteed for anyone to get most of the cards wrong, which makes it that more interesting. It's interesting to look back to see where the meta-prediction went wrong and try to improve in the next expansion.

Ya he's got most of the 1-stars pegged and almost 10% on the rest for the right reason. Though to be fair he should get partial credit on another 20-30 or so % of cards for having the right idea but off in the actual rating, or the other way around
If he was dead wrong every time, he'd actually be a clairvoyant. Being mostly wrong, but correct once or twice, is what you'd expect from random guessing. I'd expect a full-time player would be better than random guessing. Let's say this review was pretty accurate (I don't think it was but whatever). If the next 2 or 3 are also accurate, then it's an improvement. If instead the accuracy declines, then that's regression to the mean and there wasn't any statistical improvement.

Druid of the scythe gets 5 stars for being in a tier 1 deck despite being one of the weakest cards in it, and witching hour gets 4 stars for being a defining card in a tier 3-4 deck. Again, I think you need to change your rating system to include a 0 star rating. 5 stars would be a great card in a tier 1 deck, 4 stars would be a weak card in tier 1 or a defining card in tier 2, etc. And 0 stars would be for cards which don't see any play at all. This way you would have fewer weak cards getting 4 or 5 star ratings and 5 stars would be reserved for the strongest cards in the meta, making your highest rating carry more weight. Just my opinion

His rating rules are inconsistent and arguably just bad, Druid of the Scythe is a two or three star card at most because Spiteful is only playing it because it's three mana and acts as removal. It will *never* see play outside of that deck, in no way is it a 5 star card. If pre nerf Bonemare and Druid of the Scythe are in the same bracket, there's a mistake there. It's like his Defile rating, where the card is clearly very strong, is optimal in every form of control and is one of the tools that brought Warlock back into the game and yet it gets the same rating as shit like Duskhaven Hunter. I don't trust his ratings and his opinions are usually just straight up fucked. tl;dr stop using your retarded "best system" and use something that makes actual sense.

After hitting rock bottom in Ungoro, Trump has gotten much better at this, and both K&C and WW have been impressively accurate. Keep up the good work Trump.
Prince Liam is a terrible card in secret paladin, it's consistently towards the bottom of the "drawn win rate" ranking for secret paladin cards on HS replay. However, it saw play in ladder in odd paladin and performed relatively well there.

So you can't actually check by yourself :/ It's important to sort by drawn winrate and not played winrate, because played winrate is very biased towards situational cards: Leeroy will always have a very high played win rate, because you only play it when you win. Drawn winrate is the right metric to use, but you still have to be careful because it's not accurate for cards that were put in the deck for reasons other than drawing them: minions that get recruited, secrets that get basically recruited, spells that enable spiteful summoner etc.

Alvin John Agulto The Quest Rogue nerf was hardly a nerf and the Quest Rogue Matchup hasn't gotten any better for Taunt Druid. They can't play the main defensive mechanics good against 4 and less damage minions known as Spreading Plague. Taunt Druid completely relies on the secondary and tertiary board fills yielded by Hadronox's death followed by Witching Hour which can be completely countered by almost every class solid in the meta making the deck nothing more than a gimmick. Mage will Poly and ruin the beast resummoning of Witching Hour. Same with Shaman Hex and Warrior Cornered Sentry heck even if Control Priest Geists the Naturalize away or you play it too hastily to play around it you'll lose like 3 boards of value and they'll forbid you from killing your own Hadronox on the same turn and follow up with Mind Control completely halting the value in your deck. It doesn't work. Tier 3 is a stretch.

Sorry, I'm doing poorly with latching together his connections. What card SUPPOSEDLY was going to push hunter into tier 1? He glosses over it in the end of his hunter descriptions, and I'm having trouble finding which neutral he's talking about
I’m pretty sure he’s implying a spell hunter? But it’s pretty optimistic to put it in their one. I have made one and tried it out and it’s great against Palidan and priest but you can’t kill them before turn 7-9 so cube lock shuts it down pretty easy so cube lock would have to fall pretty hard
I still think Ashmore is a sleeper card, I hit Legend the first month of the expansion with Odd Warrior and the draw from her felt great. If you ever feel low on card draw, have healing/armour, and can fit at least 2 of the package in your deck, she's worth considering.

dark possession is actually great for a rin/skull variant of control^^ also dorian is surprisingly good in sentry paladin, combo it with divine favor and you get one more boardfill to get through the masses of defiles and co., but everything was good in paladin, so it shouldnt be surprising. the reason grizzly lost to applebaum was mainly taunt druid not wanting that beast and other classes only looking at these cards for heal, also equality everywhere (while better against the silence meta)^^
I swaped archivarius on Splintergraft in Spiteful druid and rly glad. If need you can create another summoner or make copy of summoned card (Emeriss for example), or Chain Gang 10 mana 20/20 total... Usefully
Surely the lowest of a five star rating is a four star then? You're rating the card not the deck. Trump literally says that the card doesn't make the deck and is weak in the deck. He then proceeds to write about tech cards which don't make decks at all and are just singular cards. I know it's difficult with neutrals but that kind of defeats the purpose of this rating system if you're not going to treat all cards fairly. Lady in white should have been odd or glitter moth even... Those cards belong together but can't be played together??? Also what was the design team thinking with Wanted... 2 mana more than frost bolt which doesn't freeze AND requires the target to die to even get the "Bonus" coin... That can't be a legitimate question? He still talks about what rating he gives them, not to mention the whole point of these videos is to give RATINGS. If a rating is biased or slanted it creates a bias and slant through the entire review, which is something that shouldn't happen. If anything it's constructive to receive criticism to help improve for the next time. Not that I believe he'll probably read my comment but you never know. :p
I don't think it's constructive though. Trump explains what his ratings mean. 5 star means it is a staple card in a tier 1 deck. The cards are treated fairly it's just that a 5 star rating doesn't mean what it does in other ratings. You and many other people constantly misunderstand that, but there's nothing Trump can do more than explain it every time like he already does.

I think Trump understated just how awful (meant as a positive) Shudderwock was during the first few days of the expansion. It died fast but during those first few days it was Shudderwock hell.

I'd argue that pick pocket is a 2 star. Not good, but with not many other options for Tess decks it's kinda needed... I mean, just look at how disproportionate most card's qualities are to their ratings simply because other cards do their job better, if not many cards exist to outclass a card its quality is greatly increased...
I run Furious Ettin in my Q Druid. It is sweet, but Q druid is not a very good deck. (I do not run the OTK version) I run Chief inspector in the same deck. It is terrible but if i dont it is autolose vs tempo mage.
I still don't get how people find success with big spell mage. Maybe I suck at it, but I win 56-67% of my games with decks I play regularly and my win rate with big spell mage was sub 40% until I just deleted it.

dark possession is actually great for a rin/skull variant of control^^
also dorian is surprisingly good in sentry paladin, combo it with divine favor and you get one more boardfill to get through the masses of defiles and co., but everything was good in paladin, so it shouldnt be surprising.
the reason grizzly lost to applebaum was mainly taunt druid not wanting that beast and other classes only looking at these cards for heal, also equality everywhere (while better against the silence meta)^^
I swaped archivarius on Splintergraft in Spiteful druid and rly glad. If need you can create another summoner or make copy of summoned card (Emeriss for example), or Chain Gang 10 mana 20/20 total...

I'd actually call Deranged Doctor a 2 Star card as some Druids were running it as a tech card. (In both Tog, and Hadronox)
Surely the lowest of a five star rating is a four star then? You're rating the card not the deck. Trump literally says that the card doesn't make the deck and is weak in the deck.
He then proceeds to write about tech cards which don't make decks at all and are just singular cards. I know it's difficult with neutrals but that kind of defeats the purpose of this rating system if you're not going to treat all cards fairly.

That can't be a legitimate question? He still talks about what rating he gives them, not to mention the whole point of these videos is to give RATINGS. If a rating is biased or slanted it creates a bias and slant through the entire review, which is something that shouldn't happen.
If anything it's constructive to receive criticism to help improve for the next time. Not that I believe he'll probably read my comment but you never know. :p
I don't think it's constructive though. Trump explains what his ratings mean. 5 star means it is a staple card in a tier 1 deck. The cards are treated fairly it's just that a 5 star rating doesn't mean what it does in other ratings. You and many other people constantly misunderstand that, but there's nothing Trump can do more than explain it every time like he already does.

Cheap Shot is a 2 star card imo. It's a decent tech option, and can make Miracle Rogue viable.

You need a star shift section at expansion for noteworthy cards from older expansions that you expect to see a shift in the star rating
I think Trump understated just how awful (meant as a positive) Shudderwock was during the first few days of the expansion. It died fast but during those first few days it was Shudderwock hell.

Alfredo Hall totally agree. Only reason it was so prevalent was because nobody thought of even / odd paladin or odd rogue yet. And the combo could sometimes outpace cubelocks

Taunt druid was tier 1 before the nerf and is even more so now. On some days taunt druid was THE best deck on metastats.

I'd argue that pick pocket is a 2 star. Not good, but with not many other options for Tess decks it's kinda needed... I mean, just look at how disproportionate most card's qualities are to their ratings simply because other cards do their job better, if not many cards exist to outclass a card its quality is greatly increased...
I run Furious Ettin in my Q Druid. It is sweet, but Q druid is not a very good deck. (I do not run the OTK version)
I run Chief inspector in the same deck. It is terrible but if i dont it is autolose vs tempo mage.

I still don't get how people find success with big spell mage. Maybe I suck at it, but I win 56-67% of my games with decks I play regularly and my win rate with big spell mage was sub 40% until I just deleted it.
