Think you need to hold L1, then press X to do the smash/power up. Not press them at the same time
I swear when doing a power shot in tennis you cant be powering up at the same time
Look at what speed power and technique do in an event before deciding. You had full speed (which helps with jabs and makes hooks horrible) in boxing and you kept doing hooks
