- The World Figure 8 Championship, 3 Hour Endurance race at the Indianapolis Speedrome is the most intense Short Track Race in the world. With Competitors not only battling amongst each other but also their race cars, and the focus needed to make it through the hair-raising intersection twice a lap.

@@dalton5903the whole point of a figure 8 race is the possibility of collision. if every time there's a collision the camera man is pointing at just some random car on the track then what's the point? You can race on any other track.

Back in the 80's I lived about 3 miles away from this track Friday night and Saturday night I was always there
When I lived there in the 90s it was Louisville Motor speedway on fridays and speedrome on saturdays

That causes the clipping in the sound.

Legends has it the ghosts of the fans that died of anxiety attacks still roam the beneath the grand stands, stuck in a perpetual state of panic. All you find is a trail hair and fingernails on the ground and an occasional Zanax wrapper.

At this point why not hook up trailers to every car and as a bonus install a random jump that could pops up at turn 1 or 3 every 15 laps. They can also have a thong pull for elastic strength and the winner drivers the winning car into the trailer on turn 3 over the jump and into the trailer. Epic! It would go gold. Shoes would sell and everyone would cry in acceleration .

Yep, been watching Figure8's all my life. First races that I remember were in the early 1970's at the Sunshine Speedway in St. Petersburg Florida. They never get old.
