I’m graduating early next year
Here’s my tips
Due stuff before the due date
Study and understand the material
Ask questions
Be out going ( in a healthy way) (try to make friends with everyone )
Get a degree ( it doesn’t matter if you have an associate or bachelors or even a certification) as long as you continue higher education and don’t give up
Engaged in things ( it doesn’t only apply to clubs .. literally engaged in class , with your teachers, classmates, with the counselors and advising)
( try to have a schedule.. google calendar
Also have a balance between life and school)
Don’t just study but also make everything a memory.. go to museums.. concerts .. etc)
And most important
If you didn’t have an amazing high school experience
Take college as your second chance for you to be actually yourself and actually liking what ur doing )
Enjoy your own company!
( oh this is an important one .. if you have to take a class twice .. don’t give up )

phone tour? like apps needed? ( calendar, notes, self care?) or maybe a christian video?
yes please a christian journey video? how do you maintain a healthy relationship with God when you’re in school??
For those going into dorms with random roommates, it’s okay to not be their best friend or buddy buddy with them! Roommates are not a set group of friends. But you should be civil and respectful of them.
Also, if you move in to school before classes start, go to campus and find your classes before the first day of school and find the fastest route to class!
Better tips for books
Look online, not at the bookstore. There's lots of good rentals, e-books, and used books. Sometimes you can even find a previous edition that has all the same information for a cheaper price.
Lol I’ve been homeschooled my entire life. K-12. I’ve never written an essay, I’ve never taken a test. I start college august 23rd. I am so SCARED. I’m excited to see where life takes me, but it’s just very scary stepping out of my shell. My mom is against college, my dad is for it. I’m afraid I’m going to fail. I don’t know how to just fit into a class room. Or what supplies I’d need. I don’t know how to study, or how to take notes. There are just so many questions I need to ask everyone.
It’s gonna be a big adjustment. Give yourself grace. It’s ok if you need to be a part time student or drop a class if that’s the best way for you to adjust and be successful.
Waittttttt WHATTTT!??? I’m in the same boat as u. I start college September 6th. I’ve been homeschooled pretty much my whole life. (5th-12th). Never wrote an essay or took a test blindly. I haven’t been in a classroom in 8 years. But I’m not stressed out. It’s an adjustment but not as big as ur thinking. Let’s be friends!!

It seems like you were describing some disadvantages and advantages you may have experienced before graduating college. I am glad it seems like you're having a blast with your friends too while being a hard worker because sometimes its difficult to manage multiple activities all at once, simultaneously while trying to work hard at school. I'm thankful you shared your advice because I could definitely relate back when I used to go to college too.
And trust me, a lot of your valid reasons and regrets matched up for sure!
I’m not even in college and I can’t help but to watch 🤗. I was a cheerleader in HS and I love watching videos on cheer, and I think that brought me to you Mary (plus I watch a few other ‘Bama TH-camrs).

I'm not in college anymore but before classes started I would do a walk through to see where all of my classes are so I wouldn't be late!

It’s a scary thing to go or live somewhere different whether you want to admit it or not and if I were a young person just starting a new university I would have definitely appreciated listening to you!! Eventhough the schoolsystem where I live is 160degree different from america, Don’t get me wrong I had a wonderfull time in school but they’re def not the best 4 years of your life. It truly only gets better
4:05 I can really relate. I just graduated in December from a smaller university up north but that was my goal when I was looking at schools, that and marching band. I wanted to go to a school where no one knew me. I continued doing color guard/marching band all 4 years of college and so that helped me to make new friends (I also had friends outside of band) and it was the best thing ever so I encourage everyone to go out for a club/sport.

Lol I know it sounds so backwards since you go to Alabama, but watching you cheer and your tryout videos help so much! I’m only a sophomore in high school but I’m working on cheer now and your videos give me confidence and just really show me how much I want to do college cheer! 🤍

I had gotten a random roommate at the beginning of the school year but she had to transfer schools before move in so I had no roommate. it was so hard but I managed to make friends with people who lived around me! so I met this girl who was like such a great friend to me and she moved in with me (she had problems w her current roommate), and so it was great for the first month. but when she started dating this guy who was very rude to me and my other friends, but I let it slide. we had a shoebox dorm bc we're freshmen. so she would let him stay over till 4am everyday and even when I had an 8am. if he was quiet, id have no problem with this, but he called his sister once at 3amwhen the next day I had a huge test in my 8am. he talked so loud and was SO inconsiderate. I didnt have anywhere to go (I dont have a car or anything) and went to school 7 hours from home. I had mentioned if he could maybe leave earlier, and she got so mad at me. she would talk crap about me to our whole friends (we had a whole friend group together) and etc. I once had headphones and she was talking about me on the phone to her best friend from home ! but anyway, she also got in a lot of fights with our other friends regarding her and that guy. they ended up breaking up like 3 weeks later, lol./ but it was never the same and she was just so different towards me and would always talk behind my back. :/ sorry if ur still reading this I just wanted to rant that maybe rooming with someone you're best friends with isn't the BEST idea (unless you've known them for years) because it can always turn out to ruin the friendship, etc.!

Do you need to move out every year? I’m confused how it works, will you move back in for next term?
Ya. Most dorms or college housing is for a school year and most college students decide to rent an apartment or something after freshman year and some just end up living in that apartment forever.
I went to state college in my home town. If you go to these huge colleges for 4 years and stay in suites/dorms surely not everyone has parents close by to load up their belongings every year to and from school. How does that work if you are attending college far from home? Do you rent storage, a pod to transport your stuff back and for each year….that would get expensive.

@@Tara-rf1re depends. Some schools offer storage you pay for. Some rent storage or have friends who live off campus so they can store stuff in their basement.
It’s one of the many expenses associated with college for sure.

Depends on the school but don’t think they usually will go into students’ rooms. Probably only cleans the community areas
