My small group (adult Sunday school class) is going through 1 John. The study guide we're using is meant for Christians who are less mature in the faith than most (if not all) of the members of my group. We make the best of it, and often go beyond the extraordinarily simplistic and seemingly sporadic questions about the text itself only because the group needs meat, and we'll get it one way or another. But I've been playing Dr. Lawson's study for a few months now, and it's been glorious to listen to. How I wish my small group would just go verse by verse through the text! We'd get so much more out of it if we did.
