The tens of stalls of food prepare fresh dishes for all buyers to take home and enjoy the end of the fasting day with their families.
We got invited for the Iftar dinner by Nasif, at his home and we got to experience the true Old Dhaka hospitality!

Not only muslims but people of other religions also live here. Maybe Michel saw them eating cause obviously they don't have to keep fast. Children, old people who are physically weak or people who are sick don't have to keep fast either. And Ramadan is not a festival it's a prayer. It is compulsory for the adult muslims to keep fast in this month. Eid is the festival actually after keeping fast for one month.

You can call it festival too I think, because festival also mean mass observance of some religious rites. In that sense, Ramadan is also a festival.
@@GUULLIVER In a sense maybe. But Ramadan is more than just a 'festival' actually. We have to pray, give charity, have to keep ourselves away from all kind of bad deeds, need to please Allah with our good deeds in Ramadan. Actually not only in this month we need and should do these things always but Ramadan is special. In this month if you do any good deed you will get rewards double.
So, it's actually something beyond just a festival...it has something special that can not be fit into the word 'festival' in my opinion.

A lot of atheist also live here. We also don't keep fast.
Ramadan is a celebration of Qur'an, cause we believe that it was on this month that the Qur'an came down from Lauhe Mahfuz (a higher place where it was kept since the beginning of time) to the lowest heaven (meaning the sky).
At least this is what the scholars say which they derived from Hadith. Anyway, it is both a festival and a prayer. And why Not? Eid is at the same time a festival and ibadat. I guess same could be said about Ramadan. Anyway, Ramadan Mubarak to you all.

Dear Michael and Gigi. Hope you have enjoyed your time in Bangladesh. The time you expended in our country has been also a great time for us. Coming from Romania and adjusting in a totally unknown country is a matter of something special. And yes, you have been really special. You even visited many remote area without any guide or so (though sometimes it could have created an awkward experience for you, hopefully not!) and tried to explore a country in your own way.
You have been great in terms of your very very polite, multi-culture-friendly way of mingling with any people anywhere. That's a rare and great virtue, friends.
Some of Bangladeshi people are in some cases may seem to you funny or ..., but they are generally overwhelmed with very little thing like seeing a visitor like you all on a sudden. But they are helpful enough when you need them anywhere in Bangladesh in any situation. Hope you will consider their naiveness or simplicity towards your journey here.
And yes, you have visited a beautiful land of soil and water and greenness. The riverine beauty of Bangladesh is a thing-- unique and justify your valuable time. It's really a different experience when you visit the villages of Bangladesh- so pure and authentic to hold the raw beauty and experience of soil and water and greenery. Bangladesh has nearly 90,000 villages having been so much diversified also.
Yet, besides old Dhaka, new Dhaka is also a thing worth of experience. New Dhaka offers almost all type of foods of almost all popular countries, and sometimes the taste are pure and sometime mingled or fusioned with bengali spicy or other kind of taste. Visitors by far never went to the places but for food lovers, new Dhaka is a great place with affordable prices (Dhanmondi, Uttora, Taltola in Khilgaon, Baily road, Motijheel and so on and so on...).
You have been really very nice visitors indeed!. We regret that we couldn't provide you good guidance or support in your journey. It would have been better if we could give company in your journey. Hopefully in your next visits, you will find someone every time with you. However, We will love you always. We wish for your good health and wealth and for an enormous and ever-increasing number of subscribers! also. We are with you with your other country's vlogs.

Truly unbelievable, this has melted our hearts, the fact that you kept your fast as a mark of respect to our religious practised in our holiest month even when you didn’t have to just confirms what I have been saying all along on how you guys are so open minded and respectful. Not only have you come to Bangladesh to explore the country but you have also immersed yourself to the cultures and traditions of the land like for example speaking little bits of our language, dressing up in our clothing, riding the rickshaw, eating our cuisine, singing the song on 21st February mother Language day, interacting with the locals and putting some of our music in the background of the vlogs and I noticed even in this vlog you added on Islamic nasheed music in background, its things like these that sets you apart from other travel vloggers.
It was so kind of Nasif and his lovely family to invite you both for Iftar, we maybe a poor and developing country but we have a rich heart and our hospitality towards people is one of our strengths. Whenever we host our guests wether it be one person or many persons we love to feed them, we can’t help it that is the nature of Bangladeshis, we want our guests to feel welcome and have a great time in our company. Did you guys managed to have the end of Iftar Cha ☕️ that is the best way to end an Iftar because it gives more strength so that you don’t fall into a food coma after all that eating 😄
