    A friendly reminder that if your opponent's strat is: "Tryna shoot you from far away" then take it as: "Pls don't come closer I have no viable close range options"

      eh. the linear rifles deal even more damage at close range. it's not like they're useless at close range in the same way shotguns are useless at long range. they're not as powerful as shotguns obviously, but they can still deal a lot of damage. you actually want to get close to your enemies when they're staggered because you ricochet and miss less. you can deal pretty solid burst damage at about 70 meters. so it's not like you're completely useless at close range in the same way a zimmermans build is completely useless at 120+ meters. it just means your close range burst is not as obscenely broken as theirs is. but you're not helpless and defenseless at close range. if you can kite them around successfully, and they have no long range weapons like missiles or rifles, there's nothing they can do. their shotguns will always ricochet dealing like 4 damage, and their stun needle launchers will always miss. and if they manage to get in close range, everything just depends on whether you can dodge their attacks. if not, it doesn't matter that you're playing long range weapons. any build is gonna get wrecked by dual zimmermans at 20 meters if it fails to dodge them.

      ​@@Wintercide laser pistols go so hard. I literally run two back missiles and two laser pistols in PvP, and it's the simplest setup ever, but it's so good! I don't even know why it's as good as it is.

      FCS also plays huge roll in range. Players who go full shotguns tend to rely on hard lock on close ups. While long rangers usually uses soft lock for better tracking.
      Non-veteran/ experienced player would ALWAYS hard lock on close range. Now depends on their FCS, it could be either fucky, or yucky. The blue ones from arquebus would be shit, misses a lot. While the red ones would do wonders and rarely ever miss/ lock break.
      Now. Linear rifles do deal more damages on close range, but it's rate of fire and 10 bullet/mag means that every shot counts, not to mention its low rate of fire. And I can't help to ask, besides from it's stagger build up, what weapons build that could not out perform this video's double linear rifle, had it been played properly? Since it's low the chances that you'd build something with one to no back weapons.
      Sure this build will still shred you at close range. So PLEASE, if you're running pulse armor, PERSUE THE ATTACKER. Notice how Oroboro immediately "nah, I ain't dealing with this shit" once Pulse Armor is up. Also, don't be afraid taking 1.5k 3K dmg IF the trade is worth it.

    Dig this build, but HIGHLY reccommend going with Melander C3 arms for +5 target tracking and +4 to boost speed. You lose about 200 or so AP, but you also gain the weight to equip a secondary on your right shoulder. I like the Sampu for flavor since it's considered a "sub-weapon". Plus it gives a quick burst option for those surprise close range encounters like what happened at 1:48 or if you can't shake someone.

      only if your opponent is slow & doesn't overboost much. Otherwise micro strafing is needed to keep your ACS strain low

      @@Cleptomancer If you are in range where you need the micro strafing of hard lock, you are probably firing your weapons giving you exactly the same strafing ability in soft lock. Plus even if you aren't firing soft lock strafes and dodges just fine.

      @@JaggedJack1 I use both. Especially when there are obstacles. If I'm not firing in softlock, my AC wants to turn which definitely effects strafing speed without quick boost. For quicker ACs I like to fire at a slightly slower rate to give my firing stability time to refresh a bit. I get more shots on target and it eventually allows me to land more charge shots.

    Love the build! I think maybe the best way to use a build like this is to stay mostly grounded... hopping into air and floating kinda loses a lot of the thrust and quick boost advantage you get from the hopper legs in terms of side-to-side movement. I noticed in this and my own similar builds that I got hit a looooot more with those high, floaty hops than I did when I dashed back or left to right a lot

      Yup. Reverse joints can jump high in the air, but a lot of the time I think they're better on the ground. They have incredible QB distance, and you can easily jump over a lot of melee attacks. They're the ADHD legs, for someone who has to keep moving fast. Only works on the ground though.

    btw that quad guy made me realize something that I didn't realize myself when I used the bomb launcher or how it's called: the bombs don't reach all the way to the ground if you throw them from an even not-so-elevated position. I think he didn't realize it either as he missed like that several times.

    So fun fact, those parts are pronounced "Nacht-Reiher" meaning Night Heron. Your Corpse Piler is a night bird.
    Kinda odd to be using a missile FCS for a gun core though. Would the IB-C03F: WLT 001 be a better option?

      The FCS he is using has the highest mid-range stat while also still having a decent close range stat, and mid-range is the distance he's preferring to play at.

    I've learned that it's not worth using a melee weapon on your back to switch to after a stagger. Most of the time you can only hit one of the two moon light waves. It's better to switch right before a stagger and cause the stagger with something like a needle launcher.

      cause you should be going for the full charge on stagger. i run both moonlight and redlight and use one to set up the other and it does wonders

      you switch before a stagger and have you plenty of time ( and I use Pile Bunker as my finisher, which does the job 🙂) , mostly a skill issue on your end.

    The Ransetsu RF excels more in this kind of midrange engagement due to its RoF. After countless PvP Testing after patch, the Ransetsu RF's only drawback vs the Harris is just the slight range difference. Other then that, it has 3x less recoil, Higher Rate of Fire, means more dmg and accuracy.

    I used a build similar to this for a lot of missions - dual Harris, melee on the back (namely Pulse Blade), a missile of some flavour and lightweight parts.
    I think the only differences are Firmeza arms for the nice balance between firearm and melee, a different head, Alula booster and the VP-20C generator.

    I prefer the Coral FCS for a balanced option, as it has better close and long range performance while only having 8 less points in medium range than the P05.

    This is super similar to my build for team PVP. I use a super lightweight reverse joint build with the ransetsu burst rifle and the scutter with verticle plasma missles and redshift for stagger. Its definitely not meta but i have a blast playing with it and ive done well in 1v1's with it too.

    Im really glad you've been championing the HARRIS ur right its slept on, i thought linear rifles were just shit bc of the other one but ive been converted, its like a DUCKETT with more ammo more range and a charge shot for pve i love it

      The burst rifle is about the same, but with faster bullet velocity which makes it more viable in my opinion, still fun to use tho for sure

      The Curtis is definitely intended to be used primarily for the charge shot, since you can do 2-3 charge shots before it overheats, with you weaving it's shitty normal shots in between while you let it cool. If you try to play it the same way you would the Harris, it's not going to work. Really wish the Curtis charged shots didn't give the audio indicator, though. It makes them way too easy to avoid in PvP.

      when I used the harris, against light/medium builds I liked doing this a few times: at the start of the round start charging a shot, then immediately assault boost into the opponent and kick them, and combo the charged shot into the kick. insta-stagger (at least the few times I did this).

    I use a similar dual rifle build but instead of dual harris, i go for ransetsu rf for the left hand which allows the use of the firmeza or tool arm instead of the mind alphas. though the max range goes down from 320~ to 286, which is still very far away from anything you engage, but at least heavier equipment can be used

    I have builds that use RJ kick and Charged Harris to break ACS on most targets in one attack, then charged WLT001 or redshift moonlight on the left.
    Alternately, my dual Harris setup is a tetrapod with plasma thrower for clost & tureno to pile on an extra hit after stagger.

    During my 3 first playtroughts I gravitated towards a very similar build the only diference is that I have missiles and i use a midweight instead of a lightweight, but your Lightweight take is amazing! and scarier than mine! great video as always!

    I use a very similar build. With the MIND arms, you can resisit the recoild of a HARRIS/CURTIS pair. With the new changes to CURTIS, it has higher DPS than the HARRIS. Another benefit to it is that it has better readiness to take advantage of stagger eith higher mag cap and reload.
    Rather than use the linears to primarily induce the stagger, i use the back weapons to spike the gauge and thr tifles to eat their health during stagger. I pair them with JVLN BETA and/or TRUENO. These let you stay on the move. JB's really let you surprise the opponent's ACS gauge.

    I use Ransetsu RF on one arm instead. It has somewhat similar damage, impact and range as the Harris, but with far less recoil.
    Thus it allows the use of arms with better firearm & melee specializations without having to resort to high recoil control arms.

    I recently fell in love with the Ranetsu rifles. You don't have the epic charge shot of the Harris, but their EN load is silly low and they have insane impact/dps for rifles.

    I noticed that you're a little slow to switch to Redshift once they're staggered. I use a similar build with machine guns and redshift to punish and you can switch and fire that blade almost instantly. I often get the double hit to connect.
    But uh... I ain't s-rank so I'll leave it at that. Awesome build man.

      They are definitely usable, their dps may not be top-tier but they have good projectile speed, impact and direct hit modifier

    I’m gonna have to request a breaking AC episode of the Intercept the Redguns mission where you fight G1 Michigan and an entire army alone. I’ve been stuck on it for about a week now.

      I used alot of crowd clearing weapons and ended up having to kill him with my fists lol, that was a bit of a slog.

      Here's what I did.
      Stay on one side of the Arena and try to gather up the MTs in one spot as you whittle them down. Hover around clearing up the ones at the top of the Nepenthes Platform as well. Once Michigan and the other Tetrapod MT drop, burst down the Tetrapod as quickly as you can, and then switch onto Michigan to do the same before going back to the MTs.
      For best results, use a Missile Pod to deal with the choppers. They're also great for adding ACS Strain to Michigan.
      I completed that mission with a lightweight Reverse Joint Build, Double Haldeman Shotguns, the 6 Cell Furlong Missile Launcher, and the Ashmead Pile Bunker on the left shoulder for punishes.

      I feel you, on my first playthrough I couldn't finish it and finally got to do it in NG+ 4. Personally, I used a specialized melee build for that mission, but in hindsight a lot of AoE weapons would've been better

    As far as I know if you stagger with an attack it also considers that as a direct hit. Just something I've been thinking about but haven't tested yet.

    Not gonna lie, the sound of those coral missiles are eerily scary. Something about that sound they emit when they start closing in on you sounds like it’s about to do something to your soul you’re not going to like.

    harris also works fantastically on boats and tetra that love to stay in the air, plus melee pressure also works a treat, though even then, with near-direct counters, they are just so damn tanky, i still cant beat them no matter how much i try-hard, you almost need to use zims for them.
    double harris, i was able to stagger boats 3-5 times per round, and hit them hard with a melee, and they STILL didnt die.

    i love the pvp scene of this game. yes there are strong setups, yes there is a *very* oppressive setup or two.
    But man. "Welcome to armored core" should be the death screen whenever a zimmy hendrix gets zoned out by someone with linear rifles and max speed. Because, yeah, zims are strong .. but they dont solve *every* problem.

      He dont, never did in any souls series either. Its missleading but the content is good anyway. He probably looses as much as you do. He havent learned how to manuver with the turning while boosting yet it seems like.

    My favorite part of the Build videos is the people on Twitch and TH-cam trying to improve the build. Just completly missing the whole point of a build. "Oro your build could be better if you add a Zimmerman or a Stun Needle."

    This is very close to my AC Red Flash same ac frame but I use the burst rifle in the left hand and switch out the right shoulder for whatever mission I was going on!

    For this build, I feel like the red shift is a hindrance 🤔 maybe right before the stagger, charge one gun and keep firing the other until the stagger and unload the charge for the direct damage 🤔

    regarding that grenade-tosser Michigan 2.0 was using, it'd be interesting to see a build using it! It competes directly with the various handheld grenade launchers for pure stagger bar, and is really easy to connect if it's in range, but otherwise it really falls short of the other melee weapons (and even the ranged explosives) for other stats, so it's hard to find a use for it. You'd have to build around the essentially-free close-range stagger buildup to make it work, I think

      It's such a weird weapon compared to the other melee weapons. It's not even classified as a melee weapon according to the stats, so I don't think it even benefits from the Basho arms' melee buff.

      @@Khotetsu right? It's very bizarre. It also, incidentally, is the only "melee" weapon to have ammo, which makes sense since it's physical grenades, but adds another item to the list of ways in which it stands out.

      Update: someone plastered me with it in pvp yesterday, I can confirm that it is a *hard* counter to rushdown melee builds. Extremely hard to parry and impossible to dodge because of its wide AoE.

    Charge shots my man! Charge your shots during the Moonlight attack then let it off either as a combo or after they dodge. This can also be worked in off of the dodge boost during a single moonlight slash 👌🏾

      Combing charged shots is what got me through the campaign.
      Then I realized I could just use Zimmermans and breeze through everything 😆

    Have you try using arm with higher recoil control? I'm quite confuse either recoil control or arm specialization more important when equip rifle?

    Hey Oro I love your build vids but I've always wanted to ask: why u no use scan? It would save you a lot of those "WHOOO!!!" moments like here at the 1:48 mark.
    I hardly ever see it used even amongst regular pvpers... is there something I don't know? Perhaps it does something bad to your EN regen while in cooldown or whatnot?

      Hehe, no one does it seems like. I do it all the time tho, its so nice to have built in wallhack, especially when you play as i do boosting around buildings and flying through tight spaces while boosting.
      Also i hihly recommend you to learn piloting your AC while boosting. I rebinded the "turn" key to "alt" instead. Now i zig sag through buildings, the dopamine rush wehen you go after someone then land the kick after highly manuvered corners is insane. Never gets old, and its pretty easy to as long as you rebind it. I also rebinded both shoulder weapons to mouse button 3+4 that makes huge difference asweel. Now W,S,A,D is allways free to manuver while the rest of the buttons are easy to reach.
      The control over the AC is unbealivable in this game, ive done so many insane manuvers. It was hard the first houer or so, now i cant be without it. Love to try and ambush the opponent by flying inbetween buildings or flying low behind things. Works 75% of the games in the first match.

    You could make those linear rifles work at much greater length and hit % if you turn off manual lock and just use auto lock.

    Put these weapons on a full heavyweight setup with Buerzel and SAN TAI and you don't die instantly if you mess up. And you can chase missile rats. And you can keep up with lightweights.
    Lightweights are a bad meme in ac6 currently. Heavyweights do everything they do, but better. You lose like 10-20 speed. Seriously.
    Also, MAJESTIC bazooka is a better HARRIS. Less energy use, more stagger, LIGHTER, AOE splash if it misses, no charge time, faster reload/no overheat.
    Oh, and bazookas are attacker side registration and hit more often than rifles.
    My only major critique is that switching to your Redshift is less total damage than continuing to fire your HARRIS during stagger. Sure, if you run out of ammo as they stagger but you rarely do.

    If you're only using the moonlight for punishes, I feel like the rifles would do more if you just dps'd the whole stagger duration instead of losing time and probably missing one of the swings.
    Maybe drop the moonlight for a plasma missile?

    So i have a similar build except i use dual harris and dual seige missles. Cause acs strain or build stagger with missles an boost kicks and punish sysggers with charged harris
