Farmers who are braving chilling weather of December to met their demands on scrapping of three farm bills introduced by central government without taking anyone into confidence deserves praise for their unwavering and unflinching ability to stay united in their protest which is lasting for over a month. Government should take their protest and grievances seriously lest the non violent and peaceful agitation turns into unmanageable and jeopardize situations in capital. Without making it prestige issue government should come out clearly on three farm bills which are billed as harmful to farming community. On their ground reporting at what situations prevail on Singhu border India Today deserves praise from its viewers...
Farmers even irrigate their lands at 0.1' Celsius from the freezing water directly coming from snow melting peaks of himalayas sometimes a layer of ice can also become on that water , most of the times even snakes can b there in that watr , still government or traders buy long grain basamati from them at rate of 6 to 12 Rs pr kg and sell at a pris of 80 to 140 pr kg to consumrs and even export at around $300 pr 1 tonn( 40 kg) to china

Hats off to our farmers. Modi is making law like a autocrat. Laws should be made after consulting the stakeholder and change should be gradual not sudden.
Now media has changed its mode of campaign against farmers. it is telling that implementation of new farm laws are necessary to make indian farm produce competitive in the international market. That means new farm laws are not for the benefit of farmers but for the exporters. But how can indian grains become cheaper when compared to american grains? America subsidises 100% of their farm activities. Each American farmer gets $ 7000 as subsidy. whereas Indian farmer is given $ 48 per farmer as subsidy. It is obvious that Indian Government cannot go to that extent. Governemnt wants farmers to sacrifice. How much sacrifice farmers have to make? Farmers are already selling their produce below their remunerative price. If further presure is put on farmers then farmers would abandon farming altogether. Then what they will do? There are 60 crore people dependent on farming in India. Would service sector provide work for all of them. Because manufacturing sector is already in doldrums.
