His pronuntiation of the greek lyrics is almost flawless... very impresive. This song is talking about seperation as many men were forced to work as sailors for long distance trips which could last many years - a very popular theme of many greek folk songs - and it is basically a dialogue between a mother or wife (1st and 3rd verse) and her son or husband (2nd verse). The lyrics are saying in a nutshell: "please don't leave me (to sail away or go to foreign lands)" "if I go I will come back" "when you go don't remind me you are away (let me forget it) cause it hurts". Verse by verse: I've told you and I'm telling you once more (a poetic way to say "please, I beg you") don't go to the seashore, cause the sea might make a tempest and takes you away. And if it takes me away wherever it will drive me, further to the deep waters (ocean)... I will make my body a boat, my hands oars, my scurff a sail cloth and I will (regularly) come right back to the land (tries to comfront her) I've told you and I'm telling you once more ("please") don't write me letters (as you will eventually leave) cause I don't know how to read and I start crying.

yeah of course that song is Greek. everyone knows it . However the title can lead to a misunderstanding ; this video is taken from a concert which include Turkish traditional songs but we, Turks are loving so much Greece and Greek traditions thats why she couldn't finish her concert without singing any Greek song . In fact , that a concert who reflects the tissue of Turkey which includes Turks, Kurds, Armenian, Greeks etc etc so thats why in that concert they are singing in many other ethnic songs of Turkey's geography Thats means we accept that Greece is really attached to our hearts, you must appreciate it . love from Turkey zanimm

His pronounciation is flawless but it’s not impressive. Because he is Greek :)
