    I’ve watched many “tone curve” videos before... but I think it’s the first time someone explains the concept of input/output of the curve. Pretty important concept I think!

      Yep! That for the kind words

    Brilliant! No other word describes what is probably the best, most easily understandable, explanation of tone curves I've ever seen! If they give Nobel Prizes in tone curve explanation I nominate Nigel for one! And I've read dozens of explanations and watched dozens of videos on this subject.Thanks!

    This is by far the best explanation I have ever seen. The input output part blew my mind

  • @elmachomen
    @elmachomen 4 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    Oh my god, those first minutes where you explain the difference between input and output and how the curves affects it, are gold. That should be taught first thing ever whenever anyone is getting into post-processing images. So easy to understand explained this way. Great video Nigel (can´t wait to get the book in my hands), keep up the good work!

    Once again, your experience as both a scientist and an artist combines to bring us a better understanding of how the technical relates to the visual.

    Three years too late, Nigel! But I just want to agree with everyone here: superb video on an elusive, hard-to-grasp tool in Lightroom. I've been gradually coming to terms with the tone curve, and have learned some useful things already, but this crystal-clear explanation is still revelatory. Brilliant work, and thanks so much!

    This is perfectly described. I've always been a little confused and somewhat afraid of the tone curve and any attempts to understand it by other videos haven't really helped.
    Decided to finally come back around to trying to grasp it and this video has helped immensely. Actually explaining 'why' it does what it does and not just 'what' is really helpful and comprehensive.
    Thank you for taking the time to do this!

Secondly, I am still getting used to the tone curve, sometimes I prefer not to use it, but it is really helpful to know how it works and you just explained it very well and easy, not everyone does.
