Mendelssohn died way too early. Sad to think about how many more gorgeous works he could have composed if he'd been given a longer time on earth. His cello sonatas are some of my fav. He wrote incredibly cleverly for cello
you may please allow me, just to give you all a tip for listening or playing (e.g. in a concert) Have the courage to do the following: Start with sonata no.1, then let follow no. 2, but starting it with movement III, then II, and in the end I. as final movement (without IV (of sonata no.2), because it' not as beautiful composed than all the other movements)
