In July of 1990, I was 26, had earned a college diploma at age 22 and now had 4 years of work experience and no student debt. I moved out West and far away from my father's house. This was 2 years after my parents had left their New Jersey house and moved South to Florida in November 1988. My father was furious! I was no longer there to clean up after my 31-year-old father's "golden boy" older brother. After 5 months, my parent came back to New Jersey for Christmas in December 1990. My parents were furious that the house looked like a pigsty! My father wanted to know if my temper tantrum was over, now I can move back to New Jersey and keep a clean house. I told him that I was staying where I am. I am still here after 33 years!

I would still like to know what the appropriate punishment for Stella was. She acted just the way she was 'allowed' to act all her life. The parents and, sadly, conditioned older sister taught Stella to act the way she did. So what happened next, were there any consequences or just bitter parents who most probably still blamed their older daughter??!! Because all I hear is that they begged the older sister to come home and admitted that it was Stella that was the problem...doesn't change their behaviour though nor does it address what they are going to do from now on.

But she's NEVER made us feel less than.. she treated us all the same.. him she babied but we've never felt unloved not a single day. She also didn't pit us against each other. Anytime we fought, She'd give us the we're siblings, siblings are to love and be there for each other lecture. we are actually close. That's due to my parents parenting.. she would NEVER allow any of us to mistreat, disrespect or talk down to one another. If she had... I can 1000% assure you I would've cut my parent's off as soon as I hit 18... this girl ahouldve BEEN get rid of these useless people.. they weren't needed in her life, served no purposed and only acted like they only had 1 child.. I would've been gone as soon as I turned 18.. I'd live on the streets first before putting up with that bs. "I can't help but feel like I don't want her to get in trouble"
That's like giving someone a stick and then complaining each time they hit you with it...
But in Sarah's defence on the other hand, she's been unhealthily conditioned by the 'faaaaaaaaaaaaaaamily' bs that all relatives spew about the golden child.
"You can't put charges on (relative) for (crime) - they're faaaaaaaaaaaaaaamily! It doesn't count as (crime) when it's faaaaaaaaaaaaaaamily! Just let it go."
Poor Sarah. She was jumping through some very toxic mental hoops out of what she thought was 'love' for her parents. So glad she got out in the end!
Maxine and her family are the MVP's!
"Should I tell my parents? Or my sister? (About our grand plan that will help me get a spine about them?)"

Yeah if she had told her parents they would have grounded her and told her she can't go. Her being weak willed would have just accepted it. In the meantime sister would have her rave party and make sure one of her guests breaks the chair. It means nothing to her. So she'd have no issues with it being destroyed. In fact she'd delight in it. Knowing it made her sister cry would tickle the heck out of her. She'd be all sad and depressed around the parents. All while blaming her sister's wild party but happy and gloating about the chairs destruction due to her party. Just to upset her sister who would regret not heading her friends advice to get out sooner.
