what do you think about potential legal problems with using these in self defense? knucks have a lot of negative press about them

The law has changed in many states to allow them to be carried. Obviously, it's up to the person to know if what they're carrying could potentially land them in legal trouble. Beyond that, I'd say that no matter what, if you use them you should get rid of them. If you use them, be sure to do so only in no-joke self-defense.

I've carried them before but never had to use them in anger. If you can punch, you can use knuckles. The damage done to the person being hit is a lot more than what you would get from a normal punch. It's a non-lethal defense that can easily be lethal, depending upon where you hit.

It's great to see more and more states allow the carry of knuckles without a permit. I just try to emphasize that it wouldn't be hard to bust someone's head open and end up in a very bad situation.
Thanks for watching, and for commenting! I appreciate it. :)

Brass knucks are made to use like a cat striking not a power punch. Fast light hits not bone crushers

Good vid man. I think whats missing in most discussion though is how the knuckle aligns with the forearm. I would like to see how you think about it. For me so long as the very tip of the piece is in line with your forearm in a straight line, you are gtg. Obviously holding a piece of metal in your hand will be effective in any case, but its the alignment for me.

How the kinetic energy travels through your body and up your arm is sort of like a drive chain, if you will, and yes I do need to do a video on it. But I need to study up on it a bit, first.
Thanks for the comment, and the great idea for a video!

Awesome vid, I got a pair of screaming frogs from watching your video. I know they would hurt. Can not imagine something like the Capone's you got from Gilly's. Do you think braceless knucks are good for punching as well?

The screaming frogs from ECK are SO GOOD! I love mine. And I love the way ECK makes historically accurate patterns.
I do think that braceless are good for punching. They aren't as effective at transferring kinetic energy (force) as a braced knuck, which is a con, but they are easier to carry and have a lower profile, which are pros. It's all going to depend on what you want.
Thanks for watching, and for the comment!!

Serious question - you know anyone that can pour their own knucks with customer supplied metals? I wanna take .9999 Silver and a bit of Titanium to make knucks with intrinsic value. I figure if they are just silver they would mush up if you dropped them or really cracked a skull. Ive dropped a kilo of silver ome time and the bar is cosmetically fooked now. Figured if anyone would know, you would. 👍👍🇺🇸

Johnny Mayhem would be the first person I'd seek out. If he doesn't/can't do it, he'll point you towards someone who can.

If Johnny Mayhem doesn't work out, and he can't point you in a good direction, hit up Heavy Barrel Design (I think that is his handle) on insta, or maybe Stray Cat Knives.
I don't think it'll take you long at all to find someone.
