Vivid memories of my short span of service as an ex QGE. Perowne and Bowring Camps remain alive still in my memories.

No, the Gurkha Engineers took over from 56 Field Squadron Royal Engineers when 24 Field Engineer Regiment Royal Engineers left Hong Kong in July 1958. I served with 56 Fld Sqn until I moved RHQ to take on the paperwork required for the regiments move. The date that the Gurkha Engineers took over Perone Camp, known to us as Gordon Camp, I d not know. I have photos taken by HK URBEX from when the camp was in a very run-down condition after the Gurkha Engineers had left, I also have some photos of the rebuilding of the area that went on through the years until 2022. If anyone reads this and can help me with photos of the Gurkha Engineers when they occupied Perone Camp I would very much appreciate a copy so that I can try to finish the occupation of the Perone camp from the end of WW2. Thank you.We are all UBIQUE.
