Firefly: Endearing, Existential, and Endless

Part IV of Requiem for a Cancelled Show! In the final installment of this mini-series, I talk about Firefly: one of my first loves. It's got some great elements, and it's got some not-so-great elements, but I adore it all the same. But while its cancellation sucks...I don't want more episodes of it.

Thank you for mentioning Whedon's narrative plan for Inara. I've always cringed at it as a survivor. Just proof that he shouldn't be the one to tell this kind of story.

I still remember the frustration I felt when it was cancelled. The film helped quite a bit. Giving a more complete ending. I agree it does not need a reboot. Viewing it as a mini-series is a great idea.

You should do an episode on 'Community' as a 'Requiem for an Un-cancelled Show...Kind of.'
The show got its, '6th season', bankrupted Yahoo's streaming platform, and still left the fans generally unsatisfied. I say this as a fan. Even when the we get what we want, the universe still screws us!
