I also seen Randy Rhoads on the Blizzard tour front row right out front of him. As a guitarist myself at the age of 18 i was totally blown away. It was a life changing event. The greatness was evident and obvious. Also seen Eddie Van Halen on their first tour backing Black Sabbath which was equally awesome. Those guys were #1 and #2 for a reason. For me. Randy was the guy back then. I actually cried when he passed away.
I saw Randy with Ozzy on April 29th, 1981. There's a radio broadcast and interview from that show posted here on TH-cam that I just found. Great show. He was awesome and my friends and I talked about it a lot after the concert. Was psyched to see him again in 1982 around the same timeframe with UFO opening up. I still remember where I was when I heard about the plane crash. Very sad day. That being said, Bernie Torme' did a great job filling in on extremely short notice. He had all the main riffs down, but obviously didn't play the solos like Randy. But overall it was a surprisingly good show.
After Randy died a very young John Sykes was auditioned and offered the job but supposedly asked for more money than cheapskate Sharon was offering and that was the end of that. Also Gary Moore was offered the gig after Jake E. Lee left but saw the whole circus as a revolving door so he decided to stay solo. It would have been interesting to see what might have happened but Jake E Lee was great
@@Sighdaball apparently knowing how the business works he doesn't seem to have much motivation to get back in. I also think he might like to be in control of things and other people's egos get involved etc.

Jake was such a great fit with Ozzy. He worked really well with Daisley on songs and unfortunately got no writing credit on the Bark album. Met Jake at RDC show in Raleigh in2104, very cool guy.
Nice to hear a shout out to the kick ass solo of Revelation (Mother Earth). If only Randy had lived longer, I think he could have out gunned about anyone! Jake is a badass too. That Bark at the Moon solo never gets old.
My first time listening to solo Ozzy is Bark At The Moon album back in 1986 at eight years old. That album blew my mind big time. It still sounds amazing to me now as it did the first time. In my opinion Jake did a phenomenal job in Ozzy's band. I love his guitar tone, and guitar solos big time. I love Badlands and Red Dragon Cartel big time as well. Jake is in my top 5 favorite guitar players ever. I have three bootleg concerts of Jake with Ozzy, Salt Lake City and two Japan shows. One of those shows has Jake doing the intro to Mr. Crowley because Don Airey's mother has passed away. I love listening to these shows. That is awesome that you got to see Wicked Alliance with Mandy Lion of WW3. Hopefully Jake does put out more music after he gets his surgery done.
I saw the Wicked Alliance show in Detroit. Let me preface my comment. Jake is in my top 5 favorite guitarists of all time. I would pay to watch him sit on a stool and noodle on his guitar for an hour if I could. This show was weird, as was Mandy Lion. He sat at the corner of the bar by himself during the opener (that wasn't weird). When they played, he just growled into the microphone and it made for a weird show. I certainly wasn't a fan of his vocals. Then, someone in the front of the stage must have really pissed off Jake because he jumped into the audience and started throwing punches. After things calmed down & they continued, we left after a few songs. The vocals just grated on us like nails on a chalkboard. It was difficult going from the awesome vocals of Ray Gillen to Mandy Lion growling...
I love Jake, he’s a phenomenal guitarist. May he recover quickly and they catch the people that did this. Not trying to get into the bs songwriting credits he was screwed out of, but the least the Osbournes could’ve done is cover his hospital bills. They sure made that money off his writing from BATM
Out of all the guitarist ozzy had after Randy like Brad Gillis,Jake e lee, Zakk wylde Joe ,holmes and Bernie torme I would pick Jake e Lee to replace Randy. He was the best choice IMHO
I saw that show in Detroit (Auburn Hills). It was the best show I've ever seen! Badlands opened and were simply incredible. Great White played second and they were at their prime during that time. They were excellent. Tesla was the headliner and they certainly didn't disappoint. They were at the top of their game! Frank & Tommy with their dueling guitars (Mess & Finesse) and the rest of the guys were top notch as always. Great, great show 🔥🧨 What a great time in life & music. When I say I like Jake more, it’s not because Randy wasn’t awesome. I just think Randy was at his best live or creating things and doing them exact, where I felt Jake could do that and jam, much like EVH. Randy all the way. Every note well thought out and placed. No duds from that man. His ability to double and triple track his solos speaks volumes of his technical proficiency. He and Eddie are my Gods followed closely by Michael Schenker, Dimebag and Ace.
