To me,restoring these tractors to original status is very important to show future generations what these antiques looked like when new from the factory.
An excellent example of Canadiana history right there. Great to see that it was originally taken good care of and that the new owners are doing the same. Great vid!!
The later Versatile tractors used a Twin Disc Power Shift Transmission. I retired from Twin Disc. I was at a Twin Disc 20 year banquet. I sat with an old engineer that worked on the project. It was a good story. He told me how Twin Disc got a Versatile tractor designed the transmission around the needs of the tractor. Brought a Versatile representative in and sold the Twin Disc concept to Versatile.
I think the guy had Versatile confused with Steiger. Steiger used the twin disc, I don't think Versatile ever did, until maybe the Ford New Holland days
@@RJ1999x In the late 1960's before I started working at Twin Disc. He told us the story of the entire project. Twin Disc also made the early transmissions for Big Bud.
@@kevinbissett293 I guess it's possible, but I never seen a powershift transmission in a Versatile until the designation 6 tractor. He might be referring to the 1150 which had a power shift when it was introduced
Have used rigid frame and articulated 4 wheel drive tractors, the discussion of which is better is foolish, both have times when it's better for the situation, and personal preference
Drove one of these back in 1973 I was a Jr. In high school worked for a neighbor first 4x4 and articulated tractor ever drove

Another beautifully restored workhorse. Stay safe.

@@RJ1999xno, Versatile and Steiger both used the TD. It was rare on Versatiles but it was used.
Love Classic Tractor Fever! Keep the videos coming! 🚜👍
Love the major spring action on the seat. Makes for a soft ride.
Sweet!
There's two types of people in this world: those who call em Versatiles and those who call em Versatiles.
Very nice investment
Nice i am going to be getting a 1949 John Deere Styled B
Very cool! Will you be doing restoration work on it? 🚜👍
Yes
I feel the Verstile tractors are like that small kid that always lags behind and saying "Hey wait for me!"
Less your in the border states, then its all you see. Simple, dependable, reliable, and you can fix it yourself.
Now that's Neat a Ford industrial gas... Don't see many of those anymore. My Hydra-Mac skid loader has an H-105 Chrysler Industrial wish it was ford.
That’s not a gas
Nice old tractor!!! How come it doesn’t have an enclosed cab like most other articulated 4WD tractors of the time?
Was a factory option,
I heard that they came from the factory without cabs and was a dealer option wether or not to be an open station of not.
I want one!!! (We're the same age)
Ver-Sa-Tile
I wish

Well the Stiegers where much more powerful and probably the best 4 wheel drive tractor ever built at that time.
Nice tractor but aren't you out driving around in your Wheat Field that just doesn't seem too intelligent to me
