They are not her family. Kaka was stolen/poached from her mother, put into a cage and sold like a slave to Ngoc who forced her to walk upright, which is damaging to her spine, and to perform for the camera so his lazy ass can make money. That is not a family.

I'm sorry to say, I'm not going to continue to watch and follow Kaka after today. There are so maby things I don't understand. Why do none of the other family members come to visit. It makes me so sad to watch how sad and lonely she is. I want to continue to remember her as that smart cute full of life sweetheart she was. I had such hopes that when dad found her she could maybe go home. I don't see that ever happening and now he can't touch her. Thats so mean and cruel. I love you Kaka. I hope one day your life will be better again😢

Pigtail macaques are highly frugivorous, with 74% of their diet consisting of fruit and while grasshoppers and other bugs are a good source of protein they typically only make up a very small part of a pigtail diet. When pigtails are seen eating large amounts of insects this is typically a sign that fruit is scarce. I have followed this channel from the beginning, I have seen almost every video the channel has ever made and we have not seen Kaka eat hardly any of the fruit so vital to her diet.

@ivankatodorova9936 Porque se considera que perdería la adaptación a la selva. Pero yo creo que Kaka no va a perder nunca su apego a Mr Ngoc. El problema más grande es que en 2019 cambiaron las leyes y no se pueden tener animales salvajes con humanos. Pero para mí tendrían que revisar el caso. Y Mr Ngoc pensar en mudarse. Eso no sería nada fácil económicamente. Es todo un tema.

Your comment is strange and some of what is you wrote is just inaccurate. Are you new to the channel? I ask because most viewers know that Kaka does NOT welcome close physical contact with strangers and NEVER initiates it. Kaka will accept food from strangers, she will occasionally tolerate a quick petting and she will let them touch her hand, but she will NOT sit on strangers, hug them or groom them. Most regular viewers already know that Ngoc has been prohibited from having close contact with Kaka. Ngoc is not allowed to hug, hold, carry, or closely interact with Kaka and has to discourage her when she initiates it as he did when she jumped into his lap. You seem to be insinuating that Ngoc feeds Kaka when most viewers know that Ngoc hasn't been allowed to feed Kaka for a very long time. Kaka was released at Ben en National Park, a publicly visited tourist spot and no one is allowed to feed the animals who live within the park. We recently saw a boatload of tourists interact with, feed and film Kaka, those people were breaking the rules and while I am sure Ngoc would like to do the same he would lose his access to Kaka for doing so. You are right, monkeys are not humans, they are non-human primates, but we are all primates and monkeys, especially pigtail monkeys are much more like people than your comment portrays. Kaka is a pigtail macaque and they are exceptionally intelligent and bright creatures. Among non-human primates and along with great apes, baboons and capuchins, pigtails possess an enhanced general intelligence compared with other mammals. We have known for decades that pigtails in nature are capable of innovative behaviors, use tools and play games. We also know that these bright creatures have an advanced understanding of objects compared to other animals. Pigtails can recognize familiar human faces in pictures and voice samples. They also recognize the faces of group mates in photographs. Pigtails are actually quite similar to people. We share about 93% of their genome with people, which has made them a valuable model for learning more about human diseases. This type of monkey uses a variety of signals to communicate the same way people do. They use facial expressions, gestures and vocalizations to communicate with each other the same way we do. Pigtails have the same type of similar complex social structure that people are predisposed to. They have a multi-male, multi-female social structure with distinct roles within each group. This type of monkey is susceptible to many of the same diseases and illnesses that people are susceptible to, including, HIV, valley fever, women's health issues, diabetes and many others. Most significantly we are very similar emotionally and like people, pigtails feel affection, anger, sadness, grief, jealousy and even a level of empathy. Like people, monkeys like Kaka are susceptible to PTSD, depression and other psychological issues. Monkeys and humans shared a common ancestor 20-30 million years ago and while each evolved differently there is no denying the likenesses between us. While we can agree that animals from nature deserve to live wild and free, it is not at all clear that a monkey in Kaka's position is best served by living in this setting. When considering releasing a monkey like Kaka it is important to note that previous re-introductions of these animals have shown that mortality is often high and even when time, care and resources are dedicated to such projects, success is not guaranteed. There are many, many reasons why releasing pet monkeys is NOT the preferred or recommended way to manage such situations and it is important to recognize that Kaka would never be released in the way she was here if this same situation were playing out almost anywhere else in the world. The truth is releasing monkeys who have lived as Kaka did is complicated and the idea that simply taking and releasing the animal will result in a successful outcome does not match what is known. According to those who are experienced with such projects, ill-conceived plans may return animals to nature only to see them NEVER adapt to the unfamiliar and/or inappropriate environment. The Vietnamese government does not rehabilitate monkeys before they release them. The country does not follow recommended guidelines and protocols for returning monkeys like Kaka to nature and instead employs an unapproved process of "quarantine", "integrate" (get the animal used to eating natural foods and drinking water from nature) and "release". There is NO WAY to guarantee a positive outcome in situations like the one Kaka is in, but to have even a half of a chance of being successful those doing so must invest the time and resources necessary to give each individual animal the best chance at success. The background of each monkey must be carefully evaluated to identify those animals who have been kept with and lived like people too long to be a viable candidate for reintroduction. Monkeys who are as acclimated with people as Kaka is should ALWAYS be reintroduced in groups established during the rehabilitation process as most in her situation have trouble and may NEVER integrate into existing or previously released groups. The pigtail Kaka has lived with people for as long as she can remember, she doesn't even remember living in nature and yet some want to say that "the animal can and will transition if she is simply left alone to her own devices", but beliefs such as those simply do not match what is known. Without any rehabilitation, the pigtail Kaka is likely to continue to seek out people regardless of Ngoc's visits. The national park is a popular tourist site and regularly visited by people. The pigtail Kaka is a people-friendly monkey and previous releases under similar circumstances show that monkeys in her position who were released under similar conditions will continue to associate people with food. While Ngoc follows the rules and does not bring food for Kaka, previous situations show that the general public is less likely to observe the rules and will gladly share their snack or lunch with a people-friendly monkey. There is more to successful reintegration than how she walks and catches grasshoppers (a non-preferred food source). Kaka has not integrated into the group who lives there and still spends the majority of her time in and around the dock/public area. The outcome for Kaka is very much uncertain, but all things considered there are plenty of reasons for the fans to feel concern, compassion and sympathy for Kaka.
Sweet Kaka probably checks every boat that comes in to see if her Dad has returned. She wants to sit in his lap. He didn't call her over. She went because that's where she wants to be. Please be gentle with her so that her feelings are not hurt. ❤

Thatis what monkeys eat.Leaves, insects and nuts and berries. Eating rice and piza and fruit messes up their digestive system and causes malnutrition. She looks thinner because her belly isn't bloated anymore.
On a more positive note. Kaka seems to be well fed, access to open space for climbing and foraging. Kaka has made friends with other monkeys in the sanctuary. In order to prepare Kaka to live in a monkey world human contacts need to be limited. Kaka does not look unhappy. Visits from Ngoc are positive. Kaka will always remember.
Kaka is not happy. She will not integrate into a troop. That has been clear for the last six months. She stays by herself and the Park people who monitor her have said so. Primatologists have said that releasing her is not a good thing.

The ENV's own literature on the subject advises that pet monkeys are rarely suitable for release. There is no way to guarantee a positive outcome in a situation like kaka's, but to have even half a chance of success, releasers must carefully evaluate the background of each monkey and identify those that are not good candidates for reintroduction because they have been raised with people and have lived like people for too long. Monkeys like Kaka should never be released without extensive, prolonged rehabilitation and should never be released in locations that will expose them to further contact with people. Releasing a monkey that has lived as a pet for as long as Kaka has is difficult, and the idea that simply taking an animal and releasing it will be successful does not align with what is known. Past reintroductions of these animals have shown high mortality rates and often result in PTSD, depression, and other psychological issues that were not present before the animal was released. There are MANY reasons why releasing monkeys like kaka is NOT the preferred or recommended way to deal with situations like hers. Without rehabilitation, Kaka will likely continue to seek out people, even if Ngoc stops visiting. The national park is a popular tourist destination and is frequented by people. Kaka is a friendly monkey, and previous releases under similar circumstances show that monkeys in her position continue to associate people with food. Ngoc follows the rules and does not bring food to Kaka, but previous situations show that the public is less likely to follow the rules and are more willing to share snacks with friendly monkeys. We just watched a boatload of tourists interact with, feed and photograph Kaka. There is another national park in the country where the monkeys who live there have entirely stopped looking for food and are completely dependent on park visitors. Successful reintegration requires more than reverting to a natural posture and the ability to catch grasshoppers (a non-preferred food source). A monkey in Kaka's position NEEDS to be taught how to navigate in the natural world. Kaka is intelligent and very attached to Ngoc, but he only visits once a week and Kaka is likely to be roaming and remaining in the public areas not only to see Ngoc but also to be fed and receive attention from visitors. This is not the outcome anyone hoped for Kaka, not even the FPD and the position she is in is extraordinarily sad.

How are these comments on this channel going to make any difference?? In fact it has only strengthened and weaponised the ENV to become harder on Ngoc. If you go look at the Vietnamese govt nature page it says that the previous owner is not allowed to touch or fed kaka evidently people are complaining about Mr Ngoc visiting and holding her . . The agency said if he continues to do so they will completely ban him from visiting. . I don't understand what is wrong with Mr Ngoc showing KaKa that she is still loved. . Someone has already turned him in and had her taken away and broken this family heart and the fans who love her too. . I'm praying that the winter is not harsh for little Kaka's sake . . This week there are up to 24 C (74 F) in Vietnam. Kaka has her fur against cold wheather. In the Summer the fur protects her against the sun. Her skin would burn without fur. Nature knows which care and which food animals need.
Don't worry it doesn't get cold in Vietnam. It's around 15-20C during the day and 10C at night, A monkey can withstand those temperatures. That is why they have waterproof thick fur.

They are not her family. Kaka was stolen/poached from her mother, put into a cage and sold like a slave to Ngoc who forced her to walk upright, which is damaging to her spine, and to perform for the camera so his lazy ass can make money. That is not a family.

I'm sorry to say, I'm not going to continue to watch and follow Kaka after today. There are so maby things I don't understand. Why do none of the other family members come to visit. It makes me so sad to watch how sad and lonely she is. I want to continue to remember her as that smart cute full of life sweetheart she was. I had such hopes that when dad found her she could maybe go home. I don't see that ever happening and now he can't touch her. Thats so mean and cruel. I love you Kaka. I hope one day your life will be better again😢

Pigtail macaques are highly frugivorous, with 74% of their diet consisting of fruit and while grasshoppers and other bugs are a good source of protein they typically only make up a very small part of a pigtail diet. When pigtails are seen eating large amounts of insects this is typically a sign that fruit is scarce. I have followed this channel from the beginning, I have seen almost every video the channel has ever made and we have not seen Kaka eat hardly any of the fruit so vital to her diet.

Hoy de madrugada sentí nostalgia y mucho hasta llorar y lo primero q hago es darle gracias a Dios y luego buscar TH-cam para revisar q hay de nuevo sobre nuestra estrellita y no había nada, me llené de tristeza y llorando le dije a Dios por favor Dios q kaka esté bien de salud y q no se sienta triste... Y así estuve revisando y nada, y hace un momento vuelvo y reviso y me encuentro con esta bendición q Dios nuevamente los tiene reunidos a kaka y a su padre humano... El problema más grande es que en 2019 cambiaron las leyes y no se pueden tener animales salvajes con humanos. Pero para mí tendrían que revisar el caso. Y Mr Ngoc pensar en mudarse. Eso no sería nada fácil económicamente. Es todo un tema.

Your comment is strange and some of what is you wrote is just inaccurate. Are you new to the channel? I ask because most viewers know that Kaka does NOT welcome close physical contact with strangers and NEVER initiates it. Kaka will accept food from strangers, she will occasionally tolerate a quick petting and she will let them touch her hand, but she will NOT sit on strangers, hug them or groom them. Most regular viewers already know that Ngoc has been prohibited from having close contact with Kaka. Ngoc is not allowed to hug, hold, carry, or closely interact with Kaka and has to discourage her when she initiates it as he did when she jumped into his lap.
You seem to be insinuating that Ngoc feeds Kaka when most viewers know that Ngoc hasn't been allowed to feed Kaka for a very long time. Kaka was released at Ben en National Park, a publicly visited tourist spot and no one is allowed to feed the animals who live within the park. We recently saw a boatload of tourists interact with, feed and film Kaka, those people were breaking the rules and while I am sure Ngoc would like to do the same he would lose his access to Kaka for doing so.
You are right, monkeys are not humans, they are non-human primates, but we are all primates and monkeys, especially pigtail monkeys are much more like people than your comment portrays. Kaka is a pigtail macaque and they are exceptionally intelligent and bright creatures. Among non-human primates and along with great apes, baboons and capuchins, pigtails possess an enhanced general intelligence compared with other mammals.
We have known for decades that pigtails in nature are capable of innovative behaviors, use tools and play games. We also know that these bright creatures have an advanced understanding of objects compared to other animals. Pigtails can recognize familiar human faces in pictures and voice samples. They also recognize the faces of group mates in photographs. Pigtails are actually quite similar to people. We share about 93% of their genome with people, which has made them a valuable model for learning more about human diseases. This type of monkey uses a variety of signals to communicate the same way people do. They use facial expressions, gestures and vocalizations to communicate with each other the same way we do.
Pigtails have the same type of similar complex social structure that people are predisposed to. They have a multi-male, multi-female social structure with distinct roles within each group. This type of monkey is susceptible to many of the same diseases and illnesses that people are susceptible to, including, HIV, valley fever, women's health issues, diabetes and many others. Most significantly we are very similar emotionally and like people, pigtails feel affection, anger, sadness, grief, jealousy and even a level of empathy. Like people, monkeys like Kaka are susceptible to PTSD, depression and other psychological issues. Monkeys and humans shared a common ancestor 20-30 million years ago and while each evolved differently there is no denying the likenesses between us.
While we can agree that animals from nature deserve to live wild and free, it is not at all clear that a monkey in Kaka's position is best served by living in this setting. When considering releasing a monkey like Kaka it is important to note that previous re-introductions of these animals have shown that mortality is often high and even when time, care and resources are dedicated to such projects, success is not guaranteed. There are many, many reasons why releasing pet monkeys is NOT the preferred or recommended way to manage such situations and it is important to recognize that Kaka would never be released in the way she was here if this same situation were playing out almost anywhere else in the world.
The truth is releasing monkeys who have lived as Kaka did is complicated and the idea that simply taking and releasing the animal will result in a successful outcome does not match what is known. According to those who are experienced with such projects, ill-conceived plans may return animals to nature only to see them NEVER adapt to the unfamiliar and/or inappropriate environment. The Vietnamese government does not rehabilitate monkeys before they release them. The country does not follow recommended guidelines and protocols for returning monkeys like Kaka to nature and instead employs an unapproved process of "quarantine", "integrate" (get the animal used to eating natural foods and drinking water from nature) and "release".
There is NO WAY to guarantee a positive outcome in situations like the one Kaka is in, but to have even a half of a chance of being successful those doing so must invest the time and resources necessary to give each individual animal the best chance at success. The background of each monkey must be carefully evaluated to identify those animals who have been kept with and lived like people too long to be a viable candidate for reintroduction. Monkeys who are as acclimated with people as Kaka is should ALWAYS be reintroduced in groups established during the rehabilitation process as most in her situation have trouble and may NEVER integrate into existing or previously released groups.
The pigtail Kaka has lived with people for as long as she can remember, she doesn't even remember living in nature and yet some want to say that "the animal can and will transition if she is simply left alone to her own devices", but beliefs such as those simply do not match what is known. Without any rehabilitation, the pigtail Kaka is likely to continue to seek out people regardless of Ngoc's visits. The national park is a popular tourist site and regularly visited by people. The pigtail Kaka is a people-friendly monkey and previous releases under similar circumstances show that monkeys in her position who were released under similar conditions will continue to associate people with food. While Ngoc follows the rules and does not bring food for Kaka, previous situations show that the general public is less likely to observe the rules and will gladly share their snack or lunch with a people-friendly monkey.
There is more to successful reintegration than how she walks and catches grasshoppers (a non-preferred food source). Kaka has not integrated into the group who lives there and still spends the majority of her time in and around the dock/public area. The outcome for Kaka is very much uncertain, but all things considered there are plenty of reasons for the fans to feel concern, compassion and sympathy for Kaka.
Sweet Kaka probably checks every boat that comes in to see if her Dad has returned. She wants to sit in his lap. He didn't call her over. She went because that's where she wants to be. Please be gentle with her so that her feelings are not hurt. ❤

Εγώ κατάλαβα ότι τα άγρια ζώα ανοίκουν στο κράτος . Το κράτος τα θέλει ελεύθερα στα δάση , στη φύση ,όχι σαν κατοικίδια στο σπίτι οπότε σιγά σιγά τα προσαρμόζει για να τα ελευθερώσει στη φύση .Τα κατάσχεσε από το σπίτι . Δεν είπε αν έχουν χαρτιά . Πρώτα σε κλουβί 4 μηνες χωρίς πολύ επικοινωνία με την οικογένεια και φαγητό του δάσους ότι μπορούν να βρούνε μετά στο νησί και μετά..... σε μεγάλα κοπάδια να ενσωματωθούν . Οπότε λανθασμένη η άποψη να περιμένετε να γυρίσει σπίτι ένα άγριο ζώο μεγάλομενο μετά από 7 μήνες προσαρμογής στη φύση . Ο νόμος είναι αυστηρός και σαφής . Αυτά έχω καταλάβει.!!

On a more positive note. Kaka seems to be well fed, access to open space for climbing and foraging. Kaka has made friends with other monkeys in the sanctuary. In order to prepare Kaka to live in a monkey world human contacts need to be limited. Kaka does not look unhappy. Visits from Ngoc are positive. Kaka will always remember.
Kaka is not happy. She will not integrate into a troop. That has been clear for the last six months. She stays by herself and the Park people who monitor her have said so. Primatologists have said that releasing her is not a good thing.

The commenter said, "Primatologists have said that releasing her is not a good thing". Carol is absolutely correct!!! The IUCN strongly opposes releasing pet monkeys. The ENV's own literature on the subject advises that pet monkeys are rarely suitable for release.
Any primatologist anywhere would tell you that Kaka should have been sterilized and placed in a sanctuary. You will not find one qualified expert to tell you that Kaka is in anyway being served by being released in an inappropriate environment without ANY formal rehabilitation.
The FPD does NOT rehabilitate monkeys before releasing them, instead they utilize a process known as “quarantine,” “integrate” (getting the animals used to eating natural foods and drinking natural water) and “release”, which is not recommended for monkeys who have lived with and like people for as long and as closely as Kaka did. Kaka has not integrated into the group of monkeys who live there. She still spends most of her time around the public/dock area and based on what is known about situations like this one there is a very good chance Kaka may never integrate and this would be true regardless of Ngoc's visits.
There is no way to guarantee a positive outcome in a situation like kaka's, but to have even half a chance of success, releasers must carefully evaluate the background of each monkey and identify those that are not good candidates for reintroduction because they have been raised with people and have lived like people for too long. Monkeys like Kaka should never be released without extensive, prolonged rehabilitation and should never be released in locations that will expose them to further contact with people.
Releasing a monkey that has lived as a pet for as long as Kaka has is difficult, and the idea that simply taking an animal and releasing it will be successful does not align with what is known. Past reintroductions of these animals have shown high mortality rates and often result in PTSD, depression, and other psychological issues that were not present before the animal was released. There are MANY reasons why releasing monkeys like kaka is NOT the preferred or recommended way to deal with situations like hers.
Without rehabilitation, Kaka will likely continue to seek out people, even if Ngoc stops visiting. The national park is a popular tourist destination and is frequented by people. Kaka is a friendly monkey, and previous releases under similar circumstances show that monkeys in her position continue to associate people with food. We just watched a boatload of tourists interact with, feed and photograph Kaka. There is another national park in the country where the monkeys who live there have entirely stopped looking for food and are completely dependent on park visitors.
Successful reintegration requires more than reverting to a natural posture and the ability to catch grasshoppers (a non-preferred food source). A monkey in Kaka's position NEEDS to be taught how to navigate in the natural world. Kaka is intelligent and very attached to Ngoc, but he only visits once a week and Kaka is likely to be roaming and remaining in the public areas not only to see Ngoc but also to be fed and receive attention from visitors. This is not the outcome anyone hoped for Kaka, not even the FPD and the position she is in is extraordinarily sad.

ΜΑΣ στεναχωρεί αλλά δεν είναι στην ευχαιρια του κόσμου πέρασε πολύς καιρός το ζώο δεν μπορεί να είναι σε κατάσταση πειραμάτων ... μετά από 7 μήνες είναι στη φύση και προσαρμόζεται ...στο νησί ας μείνει εκεί αφού έτσι κρίνουν οι αρχές και το ΥΠΟΣΤΙΡΙΖΟΥΝ .Να μάθει και η kaka ποιο είναι το μέλλον της . Την αγαπήσαμε ... και θα την θυμόμαστε .... είναι ένα καλό πηθυκακι καλή συνέχεια στη ζωή της .!!!!!

She had a monkey friend and was on the way to joining a troop when he showed upand the other monkey stopped coming around Kaka. He is interfereing with her just so that he can film her and make money. It's all about the money. He doesn't love that animal. She is his income and all of you are helping him. Shame on all of you.

How are these comments on this channel going to make any difference?? In fact it has only strengthened and weaponised the ENV to become harder on Ngoc. All the abuse thrown at the ENV has consequences but people are so emotional and not rational do not see how much harm it has done for Ngoc. If you go look at the Vietnamese govt nature page it says that the previous owner is not allowed to touch or fed kaka evidently people are complaining about Mr Ngoc visiting and holding her . . The agency said if he continues to do so they will completely ban him from visiting. . I don't understand what is wrong with Mr Ngoc showing KaKa that she is still loved. . Someone has already turned him in and had her taken away and broken this family heart and the fans who love her too. . I'm praying that the winter is not harsh for little Kaka's sake . . It is probably because she has to be able to take care of herself! If she has to learn to survive in the wild, feeding her does not help!
This week there are up to 24 C (74 F) in Vietnam.
Kaka has her fur against cold wheather. In the Summer the fur protects her against the sun. Her skin would burn without fur. Nature knows which care and which food animals need.
Don't worry it doesn't get cold in Vietnam. It's around 15-20C during the day and 10C at night, A monkey can withstand those temperatures. That is why they have waterproof thick fur.
