Stupid, low, and common peasants, most people, were not allowed to have weapons and were monitored closely as were blacksmiths who could manufacture them. The invention and evolution of firearms played a large role in ending the mediaeval period.

I'm over 60 and the worst crime I've ever done is a handful of speeding tickets in my life. But two of the areas you touched on here could combine in a bad way. On a given day if I decide to legally conceal-carry, then I have a personal rule that I never leave a gun unattended in a car. Period. As the anti-2A people define more and more places as "sensitive where we cannot take a gun", the risk increases that someday I might violate a sensitive place rule and maybe, possibly, somehow it gets discovered and I get convicted of a crime. Then I would "be a felon" and lose my 2A rights simply because I safely and properly conceal-carried into a place that somebody defined I should not take a gun. The anti-2A people would call that a victory.........
The only place you shouldn't be able to carry is in a court room. Anywhere else should be fine. Being told you can't in certain places is an infringement on a person's freedom. Why do people want to live in a free country then want to restrict someone else's freedom. If you dont like guns maybe the USA is not for you. Just a thought.

Their playbook is death by 1000 cuts. Little by little, until gun ownership is owning a single shot 22 or is too expensive for the average citizen to own and shoot via fees and taxes. Funny how they really want to ban AR platform and similar other platforms, even though the ar15 is responsible for less deaths than blunt objects. Once they do that, it’s on to handguns because “too concealable” and they kill the most (they will include suicides in this count as well). Next will be larger calibers because “long range sniper machine” and “nobody needs a firearm that goes passed 300 yards.” Shotguns will be next because “close range death machine that even the nazis feared.” What gets me the most about the “gun violence” number is that they always include suicides in the number. When somebody gangs themselves, we don’t call it “rope violence”.. when somebody jumps in front of train, we don’t call it train violence. Same thing with cutting. We don’t call it razor violence.
When do we outlaw an assault on the Supreme law that is our constitution. Those wishing to ha ve us disarm are Communist Chinese who wish to take over the US without firing a single shot.

Thank you for the insightful analysis. One thing I would like to see but I don't know how feasible it would be is to describe what "effective advocacy and networking" looks like for your average concerned citizen. I get it, we've all heard, "call/email your elected official". But I take the inspiration for my question from my experiences with a dedicated gun-control activist who is married to an acquaintance of mine. She is an activist who is enabled by Everytown and a few other gun-hating organizations. How can we connect disparate pro-2A citizens to coordinate a grassroots army to counter those efforts. I donate to the GOA, 2AF, NAGR and NRA. I contact my elected officials but I don't get successful feedback about my efforts or who else in my city, county, state are doing the same.🤔
You are making some of the best legal content surrounding the 2nd Amendment right now, keep it up. Please don't resort to clickbait, I have seen a few other channels fall into the trap of clickbait and farming the same subject with different titles.
Thank you, first time viewer and enjoyed this very much. You have a calm, down to earth delivery style that is easy to follow and enjoyable to listen to. Subscribed
I live in NY state. What I'm not understanding is why I need a permit to purchase a handgun. Not to conceal carry. Just to have in my house. We can buy shotguns or rifles with a 4473. Why is it that we need a permit just to "look at" a handgun in the store?
Tom, appreciate you diving into this subject. What I don't understand is how under other precedent setting cases we see the states effectively cease all lawmaking that would be in conflict with the ruling ,or if there is a such a conflicting law, the plaintiffs challenging appear to get immediate injunctive relief. In the case of the 2A law, we have a continuous stream of bad legislation that has to be litigated over every nuance of the law and the cases just drag on for years. This is trampling our rights as a legislature can pass bills all day & night in direct conflict with Supreme Court rulings you noted. What if anything can be done given the power imbalance of legislatures who continue to pass new laws clearly in conflict with multiple precedents and the state attorneys who have the infinite budgets to draw out the cases for years.
the democrats control the U.S. senate, but a strong majority of the state legislatures are republican controlled. this is important because it prevents the radical democrats from holding a constitutional convention to revoke all of the Amendments in the Bill of Rights. (remember, the lefties think that the Constitution is a "living" document which should be altered to suit their utopian communist desires)
I reside in NY, which reacted very quickly to Bruen by making almost EVERYWHERE a "sensitive area". Every place of business must post a sign stating they are OK with legal gun carry, and if a place of business has no sign, then BY DEFAULT THAT MEANS it is illegal to carry concealed in that place. This law was passed, but not advertised, and so of course most business owners have never heard of this law, (and obviously have no sign!) Talk about a quick law that has no precedent, and no consistency with history or tradition! So anyway... my request here would be that you keep abreast of the NY battles, and let us know who (if anyone) is fighting this particular battle (ie the "we'll just make EVERYWHERE a sensitive area" concept), and also let us know how those battles are going! Thanks, and keep up the good work!
I'll be more than happy to hear a video or series on the racist/sexist/discriminatory origins and implementation of gun control. Thanks for all you do Tom and Crew!
@Tom Grieve What about the possibility of a home state issued conceal carry license being recognized in all 50 states? Is that a possibility now with bruen?
@@AttyTomGrieve Tom, I enjoy your videos and your professional approach in presenting legal self-defense information. As regards historical racist/discriminatory actions against African Americans with regard to gun ownership during the slavery period and beyond , I've just completed a book "Negroes and the Gun" written by Nicholas Johnson. It's a great read and provides a key perspective on how important gun ownership was to African Americans in their struggle against slavery.
@Nicholas Lacey Realistically, it should be. Everything I have looked at over the years points to the idea that reciprocity SHOULD exist without needing a federal law forcing states to allow it.
Tom, and just for the record, YOUR language and demeanor are what is so needed. Others on the more enthusiastic nature would benefit the cause to adapt themselves to your example.
*Mr. Grieve, **_where_** in the U.S. Constitution, does the 2nd Amendment specify **_How a citizen may carry_** a firearm? Does the 2nd Amendment not bypass Concealed Carry regulations and laws?*
Your voice comes across clear and concise . Your pronunciation is great . I have so much trouble trying to figure out what some people are saying . I thought maybe my hearing was going south . I can hear and understand every word . Thanks
Thanks 4 covering this. One problem in the tactical stance of citizens who are in litigation is to forget that THE ATTACK of the anti's is against the Objects of the self defense right; i.e. mag capacities, bumpstocks etc. but these are in law irrelevant to the meaning of the 2nd Amendment; its purpose is that every human being have the capability of armed defense, wherever they are at a given moment, in public or in private scenes. The focus, Constitutionally, is the person, not the kinetic means! We must not lose sight of this ! We cannot allow ourselves to be "nibbled to death by ducks!" History is clear that the person/people must have whatever means it takes to remain safe,OR, TYRANTS WILL RULE. This is 1000's of years of history, not simply legislative US "history."
Great video as always. Thanks for taking the time to create this content. I believe the biggest threat we face is the fact that our schools no longer teach critical thinking skills but focus on indoctrination. A right not understood or appreciated is easily taken. This is not an accident imo. Please create a video on why the anti 2A forces are focusing on standard capacity magazines. I would love to hear your perspective.
I concur. I've always known "standard capacity" magazines to be STANAG magazines (NATO STANdard AGreement magazines for all NATO countries magazines, drafted in 1980, so that all magazines would be 20-30+ rounds and fit in most NATO 5.56x45mm AR15 lowers), so (though I know where the Anti-2Aers got their 10 round magazines "hunting story") I'd also like to know why the Anti-2Aers are focusing on reducing STANAG magazines from 20-30 rounds to 10 rounds. Not accidental imo.
Please do a video with an analysis of the Constitutionality of magazine capacity legislation. This is of particular interest to me as I reside in Colorado. We have had a 15 round limit in effect since 2013. RMGO fought the ban in Colorado state courts for three years and it went to the Colorado State Supreme Court and that court (populated with Democratic Party installed Jurists) upheld the capacity limit using interest balancing analysis. RMGO filed suit against the capacity limit in 2022 (post Bruen) in Federal District Court and it is in process. The anti 2A defendants in the suit, (State of Colorado with a lot of Bloomberg money assisting them), are of course arguing that the ban is Constitutional as firearms magazines are “firearm accessories” and are thus not protected by the Second Amendment.
Thank you Tom,very informative . Looking forward to seeing more from you ! Maybe keep an eye on Maryland for us and the potential expansion of the gun free zones . Keep up the good work and thanks for keeping us informed, knowledge is power.
I agree with you. Along with Maryland, Washington, Michigan and some other states regarding the potential for the "sensitive carrying" zones the Anti-2Aers and Anti-2Aer state government law makers love to grasp onto one item or phrase out of an entire paragraph or page, if it fits what they "like" or want to have happen. Thanks, again, Tom!
GREAT summary and foresight! BG2 11:46 “ordinary weapon”… in contrast to “dangerous and unusual”? Can you dive into that? CRS has said that phrase was taken out of context, and perhaps should be dangerous AND unusual AND used/displayed in a threatening way? Others say “dangerous OR unusual” (4 boxes diner says that is wrong). I would think any military or NATO standard issue weapon is “ordinary” and the 2A was for arms used by civilians and military all the same.
I am new to the 2A community and have only recently gotten involved in the fight for our rights. We have been asked to submit testimonies at recent legislative hearings on gun control laws. Could you perhaps make a video about what you feel are the most effective things to include in our testimonies to give them more power? Thanks
GL A, first, welcome to the 2A community. We're glad you're here. Secondly, that's a good question. Improving our advocacy is a worthy goal and Mr. Grieve could undoubtedly provide good feedback al9ng those lines.
Tom, I am curious to know which is dominant Federal law or State law with regard to the 2A? As with marijuana laws many States have passed their own laws disregarding Federal law and for the most part gone unchallenged.
There's a very fine line on losing our constitutional 1A and 2A rights we have to keep fighting these tyrants or we lose and that will definitely be the end. Thank you Tom for keeping us up on our 2A laws and whats down the road.
Thanks for all you do for us, Tom. I would enjoy seeing you delve into selective carve-outs that established certain privileged people with rights that the rest of us don’t have. For example, Congressmen cannot be arrested in DC, retired cops can carry everywhere but we can’t. Is this a 14th amendment issue?
You mentioned the laws in Oklahoma and a few other states. As a resident of Oklahoma, I'd like to see that video. You have a plethora of great info, and I appreciate your taking the time to put these videos. THANKS!

How does bruen affect pre-emptive laws of city's? Seattle can create gun laws and ordinances for fire arms, taxes on firearms. Do they need to follow those rulings by the 9th and SCOTUS? Right now WA st legislators are trying to remove this law so any city in WA can make law in which this will be a hodge pod of laws and make you a criminal going from one county to another or town 5 miles down the road. Can you dig in to that a little bit?
If people are deemed safe enough to be released from prison and have served their sentences then I feel their rights should be restored! If they are too dangerous to be trusted with their 2nd amendment rights, then they shouldn’t be out among society!!!
We all know that prison is a graduate school for criminals. It's about punishment, not reform. Plenty of unsafe people are released from prison every year. Check out the very high rate of recidivism. They shouldn't be out in society but they are.
I strongly agree I would say that they should be done with all probation and or parole but most definitely need to be a full citizen again and not a life sentence for any felony charges I have family members that have been in prison and they wouldn't hurt a fly so why wouldn't we all want them to be able to vote and own a gun to protect themselves the only rational reason is that the government wants to take away all our rights and so they will have the lowest of scum attack everyone possible to make as many people as possible into a felon and destroy the ability to vote out the trash in government jobs
You have nailed the ones I wanted to hear about. I believe as they change if you can come on and do exactly as you just did basically give us all a Look inside the knowledge you have.
Yes Tom. I would love for you to address 19th century gun regulations as it applies to race in relation to Heller. I hope it could not be used to craft laws with race as a concern but I am skeptical.
The 2A has been severely degraded for about 90 years and is not too far away from its inevitable death. I’m sure I’ll see its abolishment or complete neutering within my lifetime. But what I’m most worried about is how they’ll go about collecting them seeing that they have a registry.
So I watch Tom all the time. My question is can I use these as continued education? I’m kidding actually, but man Tom is a great resource and I really respect his input.
No, the time period is the ratification period: 1791. Only _confirmatory_ analogues thereafter may be used; nothing that further restricts this natural right as it was traditionally (ubiquitously) recognized in 1791 may be considered.
Can you please explain why / how the bruin decision didn’t completely do away with gun control including the ruling made in 1968 machine guns, suppressor, etc. all of which are ordinary weapons. Suppressors are standard issue on US military rifles why not the US citizens?
I really like this update to current state of the law. I hope you do more like every time there is a new loss or win, or monthly, whichever is less cumbersome but keeps us up to date. Thank you for doing this!

My state issued driver's license and CDL are recognized and honored in all 50 states of the Union. Why isn't my state issued concealed carry license also recognized and honored by only a select number of states? In fact, I can be convicted of a felony if caught carrying conceal in some states. Doesn't that violate my rights under the 10th amendment?
Yes Tom please do an episode on Magazines or what I believe Judge Benitez described as ammunition holding devices. It would be great if you could include how you would expect the court challenges to Colorado’s 15 round limit to new magazines vs. grandfathered standard capacity magazines
Seems like you have brought up lots of worthwhile topics. I’d think it would be great if you choose the order of which you think would be most relevant. Thanks for providing this information.

There is also a problem with the "disability from VA," in that a VA disability is not necessarily a mental health issue. And the enforcers will try to stretch that as far as possible if that gets enacted in any meaningful way. This aspect has been tried and has gained some traction in some cases and not so much in others. I have heard the arguments being made that every square inch of pavement such as streets, roads, highways, and sidewalks are federal, state, county, and municipal government properties and are therefore should be considered as sensitive areas and illegal areas to possess and carry firearms in or upon. Another argument that is being used is that any criminal offense or minor law infraction should deny firearm ownership because anyone who has committed any offenses/infractions against the law is no longer a virtuous law abiding citizen who now no longer has any respect for the rule of law. A lawless person who should never be allowed to have any firearms.

Yes, please produce a video on the playbook. Thank you.
Militia Act of 1795 applied to every "free able-bodied white male citizen" between the ages of 18 and 45. I think the age of the 2a right applying seems pretty clear in our Nation's history and tradition, and we can toss the sexist, racist limitations. :) Thx Tom, really appreciate your work!
But what about those over 45?

Who and where is the injured party to question in court when all of the offenses are pullover-and-blow arrests or, I smelt the odor of marijuana, void of an accident, incident, victim, or injured party?
This illusory state felony law lacks Jurisprudence!
State law says 3 offenses in a lifetime create a permanent non-reversible felony. These newly created (Mom & Dad) "non-violent" FELONS cannot ever protect themselves, their wealth, or their families! They have become eternal Slaves!

Current state law clearly lacks distinction between two distinct separate classes of offenses! (With/Without Victim)

Subscribed
Thanks Christian!
I also very much like your matter-of-fact style. Thank you, Sir!
Good point.
the democrats control the U.S. senate, but a strong majority of the state legislatures are republican controlled. this is important because it prevents the radical democrats from holding a constitutional convention to revoke all of the Amendments in the Bill of Rights.
It is in the works! Already hours spent researching
There coming for the Christian nationalist first and the tranphobes same difference lol
Yes, Tom, please do a video on the anti-gunners' playbook!
Anti gunners do not belong here in this country
The top industry supporting anti 2a politicians is usually that of the trial lawyers and law firms
Thanks for the video. You are very well spoken and deliver valuable and timely information. It is very much appreciated.
Tom, and just for the record, YOUR language and demeanor are what is so needed. Others on the more enthusiastic nature would benefit the cause to adapt themselves to your example.
Thank you for all your outstanding work I enjoy your videos I would like to see you take a deep dive into magazine bans if you would thank you!!!
I would LOVE for you to touch on "relief from weapons disability" and how to go about filing and tips for a successful restoration!
Thank you so much for all the work you guys do 👍
*Mr. Grieve, **_where_** in the U.S. Constitution, does the 2nd Amendment specify **_How a citizen may carry_** a firearm? Does the 2nd Amendment not bypass Concealed Carry regulations and laws?*
New watcher here. Love your work! By all means, please enlighten us as to the other side's playbook.
Your voice comes across clear and concise . Your pronunciation is great . I have so much trouble trying to figure out what some people are saying . I thought maybe my hearing was going south . I can hear and understand every word . Thanks
I’d love to see you expound on magazines limits and cosmetic feature prohibitions, namely as it applies to the NY SAFE Act in a post Bruen world.
They are coming for every gun eventually. Stand strong.
We cannot allow ourselves to be "nibbled to death by ducks!"
History is clear that the person/people must have whatever means it takes to remain safe,OR, TYRANTS WILL RULE.
This is 1000's of years of history, not simply legislative US "history."
Great video update! I would absolutely love to hear the playbook for the anti-Second Amendment people. Love to know how to defeat these guys
Love you brother. You’re doing God’s work!
Awesome content! Thanks! I'm most interested in the left play book to counter.
Excellent presentation
There's a very fine line on losing our constitutional 1A and 2A rights we have to keep fighting these tyrants or we lose and that will definitely be the end. Thank you Tom for keeping us up on our 2A laws and whats down the road.
Thanks for all you do for us, Tom. I would enjoy seeing you delve into selective carve-outs that established certain privileged people with rights that the rest of us don’t have. For example, Congressmen cannot be arrested in DC, retired cops can carry everywhere but we can’t. Is this a 14th amendment issue?
Tom, everything. Thank you for all of your thoughts.
This only my OPINION! If you are old enough to fight in a war and possible die defending this country, then you are old enough to own a firearm!
Cover the playbook!
"I saw it on the Internet, so it probably is [true]." 🤣🤣😂😂
Thanks, Tom! I needed a good laugh!

No one can take away our rights. I’m happy that you put out these videos.
Actually they can. And they will. They are willing to use violence and the people who want to "protect their rights" don't actually want to use the rights for what they are actually meant for. SMDH

@Danny Timms Indeed. The communists have almost achieved pure fulfillment of their plan to destroy the US from within by debasing the culture and sowing division. Just look at any video you see on social media. People just pull out their phones to record rather than help their fellow neighbor. And why would they help? Thanks for another informative video. You are spot on with all the battlegrounds. Do you have any thoughts on the timeline? It took scotus over a decade between their last major opinions. Do you think we need to wait for another decade? (And who knows what the scotus will look like then)
Thank you for your excellent review of the status of the 2A.
A sensitive place should be a place with limited access, armed security, with metal detectors and X-ray machines such as TSA checkpoints.
I strongly agree I would say that they should be done with all probation and or parole but most definitely need to be a full citizen again and not a life sentence for any felony charges
I have family members that have been in prison and they wouldn't hurt a fly so why wouldn't we all want them to be able to vote and own a gun to protect themselves the only rational reason is that the government wants to take away all our rights and so they will have the lowest of scum attack everyone possible to make as many people as possible into a felon and destroy the ability to vote out the trash in government jobs
No most prisoners that get out are usually going to repeat their offenses look at statistics
Bruen. Not Heller. Sorry.
Excellent video Tom...20 minutes well spent.
I’m kidding actually, but man Tom is a great resource and I really respect his input.
yes more details at about 2:30 please sir.

Calizona (formerly Arizona) will probably be next for restrictions!
Please go into more detail on the where legal possessor can carry.

There is also a problem with the "disability from VA," in that a VA disability is not necessarily a mental health issue. And the enforcers will try to stretch that as far as possible if that gets enacted in any meaningful way. What’s your suggestion on what citizens can do to help stop or amend legislation going into discussion? MN has SF1723 coming through the pike that will try to implement registration, “assault weapon” bans, large capacity magazine bans, etc. MN also has a very low rate of gun homicides, nearly neck in neck with CA even without the restrictions that CA has. Awesome information, thank you Sir!
Great video. Thanks
