    Nice finds George and good to see a shout to Pete at psychotron records whose fine shop I was in on Friday 20/9 and kindly sorted me out a fine copy of PIL “album” ! He’s doing a psych event at a local pub in October too ❤

      @gavaxemanspins Thanks Gav!
      Always great stuff from Pete. Sadly a bit far for me to visit in person. Good score on the Pil record.

    Great video. Never knew about Julian Jay Savarin. It sounds right up my alley and I can't wait to go check it out. Nucleus and Maggot Brain! Cool random art sighting. I'm new to the VC. Dropped my first video about 3 weeks ago. Cheers.

      @thesuffolkrecordcollector680 Thanks Chris. I'm sure the second Ash Ra album was done by the same label Spalax. I would assume the same source here.
      Take care 🙂

    Hi George, proud to admit that it was me who recommended The Normil Hawaiians to you. Absolutely thrilled you enjoyed it! I thought you would. The earlier 80s stuff is a more typical post-punk sound, although still with some idiosyncratic experimental flourishes. After many, many years they have a new album out that I picked up by them via their Bandcamp site, there’s a great review of it on Quietus. I think it’s great. But you’re right you’d never see them in the wild and that’s when online purchasing can be so useful. However, I watched your Noble response video before this one, and couldn’t agree more with your comments. It was like I was watching you verbalise my own thoughts !!! Uncanny. Or maybe not, I’m guessing many people watching are thinking along similar lines. But I definitely need to cut back dramatically on my push button buying of records. I’ve splashed the cash recently, but only because of label flash sales. Otherwise I do try resist temptation as much as possible. Good luck with the challenge you’ve set yourself! I can’t promise I’ll join you, but I’m with you in spirit! 😅 Again thrilled you enjoyed the NH album. Two great vids ! Top stuff fella. Best wishes, Richard ✊

      Hi Richard, thank you for chiming in and huge thanks again for the recommendation. It did not disappoint, brilliant stuff.
      It's an ongoing battle isn't it re buying records. We can only try and hold back. Easier said than done. We shall see 🙂

    Saw this video late. Some nice items. I was surprised you did not mention that Julian Jay Savarin was responsible for the Julian's Treatment double LP "A Time Before This" on UK Young Blood 1970. Single disc here in North America, with different Canadian and US covers. Musically superior to the later "solo"1973 release. You previously mentioned seeing it on the wall at Rise Above Records during your second visit.
    Buk records actually had many releases, predominantly singles. A subsidiary of German BASF group. Best known prog releases probably "Surfin''" by Embryo 1975, "In the Region of Summer Stars " by Enid 1976 and "Alpha Waves" by (German) Locust 1976. Many other third division bands' 45s.

    Some good finds George. Thanks for the tip about Camberwell Now. I am familiar with Charles Hayward and the electronic experimentation of This Heat but completely by-passed this group. Interesting story about the cover art of 'Maggot Brain', a truly first-class album with the title track being one of the greatest recorded electric guitar instrumentals.

    Great stuff George. I enjoy Chris's channel would love that Ash Ra Temple. That Maggot Brain is probaby the most sought out Funk/soul album out there. 'Maggot Brain is like prog funk Eddie Hazell kills it on guitar. His solo album is decent, Take a listen to Eddie Hazell's version of 'Californian Dreaming' you will love it, thats a gurantee or your money back! Everyone I play it too just loves it on first listen

    Camberwell Now was born out of This Heat. They were formed by the drummer Charles Hayward. Hayward is also on an album by someone called Quiet Sun which features Phil Manzanera and maybe one or more Matching Mole folks. That is a killer progressive record. The second and last studio album by This Heat travels in the same direction as the Camberwell Now one. I dont think you would be disappointed but there is a bit more 'attitude' on those records.

      I believe I have This Heat on my wants, so thanks for the heads up there.
      I did not realise the Quiet Sun, Matching Mole connection - albums I'm very much familiar with. You live and learn 🙂
