bro its women chess, boring af
I would argue women chess is more entertaining because it's more chaotic. Pieces are thrown here and there. It might not be the sharpest or the strongest lines as Magnus or Hikaru or other top male players but they're entertaining nonetheless.

I guess it makes sense to put the childish toxicity in the clickbait title videos
The two dots in Sämmish are called an umlaut
I think the dots are called diacritical characters or something like that, and [a] umlaut is the ä grapheme.
i really dont think that sämmisch is german, looks kinda scandinavian
@@deutscher1a Friedrich Sämisch was indeed German
The man, whose variation was mamed after, was a german GM.

This is some Mikhail Tal stuff right here!
What game
Mikhail tal would sacrifice his queen for quick tactics. That sacrifice was just brutal positional stuff.
Ngl I thought it would be the one where Fabi sacrificed both rooks and won. But not even slightly disappointed with this one.
gotham has covered the same game before (nijat abasov)
That's not a "sacrifice", stop calling it that way. It's not even "poison". It's just a trap, which you either know, spot, or don't know.

Levy's upload schedule is impressive for such a big channel. We can see all the TH-camrs spend months working on dumb content, but he is actually inspirational, instructive, and fun (in a weird way) tbh. I've enjoyed watching you for 2 years now. watching your videos alone I got up to 1100 (now 1803)
That is so impressive. Congrats!🎉❤
stavroula sacrificed that rook so good that levy didn’t even call it THE ROOOOOOOOOOOOOK
Quick intermission to mention that Ramazan Zhalmakhanov, the IM who got super impressive results at the 2023 Grand Swiss and Sardinia, recently got his GM title🎉
Levy made a video or two about him back then too!
Genuinely the most insane game I've seen in a long time
That is undoubtedly the best game I've seen. Well done.
I was at Barnes an noble and I saw you’re book so I picked it up and I’ve been liking it so far. I’m pretty bad at chess and I find that reading instead of watching videos is much better. I think watching videos for the sake of trying to pick up new strategies is hard because of information overload. I’m glad you made your book easily digestible while not only covering “bishop moves diagonal” or something else extremely basic which I find in a few other beginner tutorials or chess videos. The book is great as a first strategy book for people getting into chess and not knowing where to begin I definitely recommend. Thanks!!! Maybe I’ll have a chance to get it signed one day.
Tsolakidou has done it again!!! GothamChess has another queen sacrifice video of her with title: "The Greatest Brilliant Move In History".
I love videos like these. Players who make a game of chess look like the tactical equivalent of art are just absolutely fascinating to watch.
King's Indian: Absolute Gangster Variation
I love it
Thank you gothamchess for helping me progress through my chess journey. I started playing when I was 3 years old and by 6 I was pretty good at chess. Then, chess became boring to me and then I started to give up chess. Now im 13, and I have refound my passion of chess. You fueled that when I found you. Now I am on track to fulfilling my purpose of becoming exceptional at chess and I thank you for helping me.
That was some Stockfish level sh*t.
God, Stavroula is such a beast on the board this is another best queen sacrifice game after the one she played against Natalayia, levy recapped that game as the best queen sacrifice, but after seeing this one, wow.. Just wow 😮 reminds me of Rashid nezhmetdinov
I prefer no eval. It makes the game seem more human to me.
Levy, I think you significantly understated Aleksandra Goryachkina's strength/achievements. She's a full GM and in the top 10 women. She was the challenger in the 2020 Women's World Championship and came a hair's breadth from winning, finally losing by a single tie-break point. Since then she has qualified for every Candidates tournament, though she has yet to be the challenger a second time.
I think all that background underlines just how cool Tsolakidou's play was in this game. Thanks for sharing it! 😆
The rook had the job of intimidation. It can be overlooked but it's an important strategic concept.
Also it protected your back rank but let's be real it didn't do anything 😂
I quit chess for last 4 months due to my academics and now i am again start playing today it .
What a great start by watching this video.
😅
Man Stavroula reallly hates her queens
Levy is such a great story teller. It's awesome how he translates the tension of the game throughout his recaps.
Very good chess from Stavroula. I really loved it, loved it. If she does things like that regurally, than I think she should aim for GM title.
Wow what a game !! Game of the year contender for sure. Would love to see the actual game replay and the players reactions. More often than not its easier to play the side with the pieces vs the queen. Who hasn't lost a ton of games up a queen. You basically need a classical time control when you have the queen vs the pieces. Amazing chess thanks Levy ! PS If she keeps playing like that she might a get a GM next to her name soon.
That rook is the stick in "speak softly and carry a big stick" while the other pieces did all the talking

Truly spectacular! KInd reminds me of Sean Connery beating up three huge rascals using his left thumb only, in a movie. This is for real.
I thought this would be about the double rook sac from Fabi against Firouzja - but I'm glad it wasn't, this game is insane.
That is a game of minor beauty, minor piece that is :) Thanks for covering this. It puts me in mind of some of the great games from the Romantic era with the outrageous sacking for the attacking. There are so many great games that get played but overlooked due to occurring in less prestigious tournaments by non-super GMs..
I'm amused at the thought of Google Maps apologizing for an inaccurate time estimate.
I truly did not expect that ending - well done Levy

Hello Levy
The two parallel dots above a letter in a word are called a "diaeresis" (also spelled "dieresis") or "umlaut," depending on their usage.
Diaeresis: Used to indicate that a vowel should be pronounced separately from the adjacent vowel. For example, in the word "naïve," the diaeresis over the 'i' shows that it should be pronounced separately from the 'a'.
Umlaut: Used in German and some other languages to indicate a change in the sound of the vowel. For example, in the German word "über," the umlaut over the 'u' changes its pronunciation.
Both symbols look the same (¨), but their usage and linguistic function differ.

This was also a very instructive game in regards to time. White never had the time to a threat lined up. Every move by black was so efficient.

4:20 There's a concept in transportation called "travel time reliability" - basically, a metric to determine how often an estimate given is correct. It's quite hard to nail down, especially with constantly-changing traffic conditions, highway volumes, etc. You'll get the same thing with the "5 minutes to I-69" digital signs, and that's just a few minutes that's difficult to accurately predict

I feel that this game confirms that the bishop pair is worth at least 7 points of material.

Perfect chess: the only thing other than GM title that Rozman will never achieve in his lifetime
Her thought process is crazy !!!
Perfect example of position over material.
What a gangster game, this has to go down in the history of chess as one of the craziest games ever.
2:55 The Sämisch variation. The double dots is called an umlaut. If we want to simplify it, all of the vowel sounds covered by an umlaut are 'pushed forward'. I.e the U in pull would become the U in cute. u = pull, ü = cute
I like playing the King's Indian but never could I ever get to this level of performance. This was an incredible game. Thank you for the upload Levy!
Levy was VICIOUS this video, and we needed it
This is art at the state of art and nothing will ever change my mind.
It's brilliant as a strategy, and you can count on them to take entertaining your sneaky plan of snagging more pieces for your mains, something you should try Levy, like Aman, sacrificing the queen for huge future advantages as a challenge.... awesome to watch like this brilliant game.
Wow, this game was low key a master class in coordination. Towards the end it was like black was moving two pieces each turn.
