Really enjoyed the update!! I’m in a similar boat with having an hours total that’s not reflective of my ability. I’m at 37 hours on DS (all this month, December 2023) but took high school Spanish, did a ton of Duolingo and other apps and books over the years, and even did some DS on YT in the past. I have no clue what an accurate starting amount would be so I just let it start from scratch. I’ve watched about 2/3 of the superbeginner videos (the rest are mostly ones that don’t interest me), quite a few beginner videos, and beginning yesterday have even mixed in some easier intermediate videos with very high comprehension. I was hoping to hit 50 hours before 2024 but it’s not going to happen at this point. But I’ve done at least my 1 hour goal every day in December and I’m just going to focus on being happy with that because it’s a level of consistency I’ve never achieved before and because it hasn’t interfered with other aspects of my life.
Hi there! It's great to include listening to movies and music. At Global Spanish and Portuguese we include lots of hours of speaking and listening practising the language with native teachers from Latin America.
I just hit lvl 70 yesterday digging deeper into the beginners now, its like a roller coaster forsure and I just try to shoot for 24ish minutes a day been at it since June or July
